1 Prologue

Prologue

I receive an invitation card for my mother's birthday celebration that will be held on a prestigious hotel. I'm happy though they didn't treat me right coz they still invited me. I read the content of card so many times with a smile on my face because at least they remember me as part of their family.

"Do you remember what your parents did to you the last time they invited you? They made you as a laughing stock and they said you are not their daughter because they have not a daughter as worthless as you that has a no future. I'm just worried about you because you will worthless again. Aren't you tired waiting for them to change? Maybe it's time for you to stop hoping" Gavin said in a serious manner.

My smile faded, I know that he's worried at what my parents can do to me yet, I still believe that they will change. "You know my condition right? I hope you understand that I'm doing this to spend my remaining time here with them. That's why, I hope that you let me go to the party." I said. He sighed and hug me tight to whisper in my ear. "Okay, but I'll go with you in case they do something to you" he said.

"Thank you yet I know you can't resist me" I said with a smile on my face.

"Of course anything for my best friend" he said and hug me.

Until the time comes on my awaited moment, my mother's birthday there are lots of high valued cars on the parking of the venue. My hands become cold and it's shaking so badly because of the happiness and nervousness that I feel. Gavin took my hand and smile at me. "Don't be afraid because I'm here to defend you in case they do something" he said with a reassuring smile.

When we come in to the venue the guests are staring on us and whispering. My hands are cold and I stiffened when I heard what they are talking about.

"Isn't she is their worthless child? What is she doing here?"

"yeah right, she doesn't fit here"

"look at her clothes so cheap"

"she doesn't have a fashion sense"

"is she their biological daughter?"

"her parents abandoned her already"

"she even had the guts to came here?"

"she's the family's black ship"

My tears are continuously flowing because of the things I've heard. "can you guys please respect her not as the daughter of the celebrant but as a person. Respect her and you guys don't know the whole story so you don't have right to judge her" Gavin said. I wiped my tears and I tried to smile at him genuinely. "Enough just let them be" I said.

I look around until I saw mommy coming near us. When they come in front of us my sister grin at me. "Wow my worthless daughter is here already" my dad spat at me. I tried to come near them but they step backwards and I smiled with a pain on the eyes. 'until when I'll wait for them to change' I said on my mind.

I sighed and give my gift on my mom but she didn't accept it.

"And you hijo, why are still staying with this bumpkin? You can't benefit from her. You're just wasting your time for her. What you saw in her that you can't let her go? My Loraine Elisha is here, why don't you choose her?" my mom said with a convection in her voice.

"Whatever you say I still choose her because she has a good heart" he said with a genuine smile.

Few minutes have pasts before mom fixed her eyes on me and accepted the gift I gave her yet she rolled on her eyes in me.

"You're just wasting your time. I don't need your gift, your just wasting money because I know it's cheap like you. Don't show up your face on us ever again, you're wasting our time. You really have a thick face to come even though we don't want you here. Why don't you away? Go to the far place and never come back here. You know that we don't want to see yet you keep on coming back at us" mom said.

My tears fell because of what I heard from them. "When I die will you accept me? Will you be happy? Don't worry I have a short time left in this world. I'll grant your wish when I'm gone and I hope when the time comes you will be truly happy" I asked with a broke voice. I hope that when I'm gone they true happiness in their hearts. I'm gonna be happy if it happens.

"Yes we will be happy when that time comes and we will make sure that we wear red in your funeral. We'll throw a party in that time and don't be so dramatic. You look so disgusting! Look at what you wearing, it's cheap like you. I really don't know what your friends sees in you? Coz wow they can afford to stay at you for years. They are so living legend! Maybe I can make a statue with their faces so the people can know their heroic movements just for you. Be thankful that you have them" mom said with a grin on her face. What is the most heart breaking moment for a daughter? I think it is her parents wishing for her death in front of your presence. It's painful to hear from them that they will be happy when I'm gone. I'm so thankful that I'm sick so I can grant their wish. Coz I know and I can feel it that my body can't take it anymore.

My head ache so bad because of my continuously crying and emotionally tired until my body falls on the floor but before my consciousness fade I heard Gavin uttered a words.

"I hope it won't come to the point that you'll see her worth late"

Then everything went black.
