8 THE TRUTH

“Where is daddy sweetie...?” I asked her as I suddenly felt dizzy. I hold on the table nearby. I stood there for few moments. My head was still blasting.

“What is going on mommy...?” she asked me coming toward me.

“No. Nothing. I just felt a little dizzy.” I replied with a smile.

“Daddy is outside. He made dinner today mommy.” She told me giggling. Suddenly her giggling face seems to be fading. Everything starts to turn white and blurry. I only remember her scream.

“Daddy...! Daddy...!” it was my angel. I got startled by her scream and ran inside.

Julia was lying on the floor near the table. My girl was screaming and crying with fear. She was shaking her mother’s shoulder to wake her up but she was not responding. I hurried toward her. Her nose was bleeding. I took a napkin from the table and wipe out the blood from her face.

“What happened here...?” I asked her.

“I don’t know daddy. Mommy was standing here and suddenly she fell down and bloo...”and she started crying. “What happen to mommy daddy...? I’m scared.”

“Nothing dear. She will be okay. Help me taking her to the bed.” And we took Julia to our bed. I called Dr. Francis and tell him everything. He told me that he was on the way. I tell that little girl not to cry and be with her mother.

I hurried to the kitchen and took some ice packs to put on her nose to stop bleeding. My princess was still sitting with her stroking her mother’s hair. Then I hear a horn outside.

“I guess its doctor.” I gave ice pack to the little angel and rushed toward main entrance. I opened the door, nobody was there.

“Strange.” Saying this I called doctor again. But he didn’t response to my call. I tried him twice but no response. I was getting scared and frustrated. As I tuned toward the bedroom, again I heard doorbell ringing. I shuffled to the door and opened it with huge force.

“Where is she...?” Dr. Francis asked me entering the hall.

“She is in the bedroom. My daughter is with her. Here this way.” And I lead him to the room. He put his bag and started to examine her. He asked me some general questions about her and I replied back with a worried tone. My little girl looked at me with a worried look and asked me if she can go to her room. I nodded to her and she went outside the room. After some moments,

“She seems all fine now. Her bleeding is stopped. Ice packs were a good idea Mr. Cohen.” He said chuckling and looking toward me

“She will be fine soon. No need to worry. Here are some medicines that you have to give her.” He handed me a prescription paper. I took the paper and looked through the content and slipped it inside my pocket.

“What about bleeding...?” I asked with a worried look, turning my gaze toward Julia.

“It’s just stress. You should talk to her about it. If she keeps on taking charge like this then it will be a problem.” He started to pack his bag. I paid him his fee and lead him toward his car outside.

“Take care of her. She is taking too much stress.” He said sliding his hand toward me. “Yes. I will take care of this.” I replied. We shake hand and bid farewell.

When I reached the bedroom, Julia was already awake.

“My head is blasting. Ahhh...” she said banging her head on sides.

“Hey. How are you feeling now...?” I asked her sitting on the bed next to her.

“My head. It’s hurting.” She said smiling at me. I took her hand into mine and look at her. “It will be okay.” and I smiled back at her.

“Let’s go. It’s dinner time.” i said her kissing her forehead.

“Oh god! What we gonna do. Was I out for so long...?” and her eyes grew wider. “Move I have to make dinner. My girl will be hungry. By the way where I she...?” she asked getting out of bed.

I stopped her by grabbing her arm. “I have already prepared that. Don’t worry. And she is in her room.”

“What...!” she exclaimed.

“What? What!”I said.

“You made dinner. How...?” she was still not able to believe that.

“Oh jezz! Don’t forget I was a scout boy. I know how to cook okay.” I said proudly.

She giggled at my answer and punched me in my belly. I grabbed her by her waist and pull her close to me. Our bodies were so close that we were able to feel the heat of our bodies. We stayed for like that for some moments. Then she pulls herself away and drag me with her out of the room toward the kitchen.

“I can’t wait for what you have made today for dinner.” She said excitedly.

“Okay. Let me settle everything. Will you please have a check on my darling please...?” I asked her arranging the plates. And she immediately made her way out. After some moments they both were seated on her seats for the food.

“I hope you both like it.” I said serving the food to both of my lovely ladies. They both giggled and enjoyed the food. After getting done with dinner I brought the dishes to the kitchen sink for cleaning.

“Now I can take over” and she pecked my cheek. “Thank you for the dinner though. It was really tasty.”

“Thank you.” And I pecked her back. She blushed a little and pokes her elbow in my belly. I ran to avoid and won. She was laughing at this. Her smile. Ahhh...I can do anything for this, I thought to myself.

I headed to living room. Sweetie was still on TV.

“Its sleep time my darling.” I said patting her head.

“But I’m not sleepy daddy.” She said without looking at me.

“Oh. What are you watching...? Another cartoon...?” I asked her.

“It’s The Pink Panther show. Do you know...?” she asked me without taking her eyes off the TV screen.

I laughed at her comment. Julia was still busy in kitchen. It was about half hour...and I could see her sleepy eyes. She was yawning but she was forcing herself to see the TV show. “Let’s go to bed now.” And I took the TV remote off her hand. I put off the TV, took her in my arms and put her to the sleep.

Then I move to my bedroom and had a shower. It was a long day. When I came out...Julia was already there. I put on my clothes and flung into the bed. She starts to stroke my wet hairs. I hold her hand and asked her what was it that she is so worried about?

“Tell me what is it? We can solve it together you know that. Right!” I said looking at her into her eyes.

She was silent.

“Julia?”

“She is here.”
