10 THE CONVERSATION

“Wait. What...?” his face went pale.

“Yes. She is here. I saw her today.” I said looking away from him.

“Oh. So that’s why you were so stressed.” he let out a sigh. “We will talk about it later. Take your medicines and sleep now. Doctor said you need to rest.” He said tucking himself into his blanket.

“hmm.” I replied without looking at him. I took my medicines and put off the light.

I lay on the bed beside rick, covering myself with blanket. This bed was feeling so hard today. It was hurting me. I was not able to sleep. I turned toward rick. He was sleeping peacefully. I crease his cheek and get up from the bed. I made myself a cup of coffee in kitchen and went to the garden.

Everything was lit with the moonlight. I looked at the sky. It was clear and stars were twinkling. It’s been a long time since I have seen such a beautiful sky...filled with shiny stars and milky moonlight. I sat on the chair outside with coffee. I was enjoying my time with moon.

“It’s been a long time since we had a talk.” I said looking at the bright, white moon. “I’m sorry. I got too busy in my life.” I said taking a sip of coffee. I put the cup on the table and let out a long sigh.

“You know so much has happened since our last talk.” I rubbed palm of my hands. “Judith is back. She even called home. But I drag her off somehow. And today I saw her at the shopping complex.” I added.

“What should I do...? I’m very afraid about last time. Why she has come back...? I have to fix this.” I said taking my cup of coffee in my hand, finishing it. Suddenly a cold gust of wind pass by, leaving me in chills.

“I should get inside now. It’s getting cold here.” I said looking at moon.

I came back inside and went to check my little angel. She was sleeping happily. I covered her with the blanket and return to my room. Rick was snoring softly. I lied down beside him, watching his sleeping face. I don’t know how much time will it took to fall me asleep.

“Good morning Julia. Wake up darling.” Rick said putting a cup of coffee on the side table.

“Good morning honey” I replied sitting in the bed, adjusting the pillows behind my back. “You got up early huh...?”I asked him rubbing my eyes.

“Yes.” He said sitting on the edge of bed. “How are you feeling now...?” he asked me with a bright smile.

“Pretty good. Thank you for the coffee.” I said with a bright smile.

“Anything for my love.” He said coming close to me. He kissed me on my forehead and got up from the bed. “I’m going to wake up sweetie.” He said leaving the room. I finished my coffee and finished morning routine.

I came to the kitchen and prepared for breakfast.

“Sweetie are you up...?” I yelled from the kitchen.

“Yes mommy. Dad is getting me ready for school.” I heard her reply.

“Wow.” I said to myself. After about an hour they both came for the breakfast. I was already waiting for them.

“Good morning mommy.” She said loudly running toward me and kissing me on my cheek.

“Good morning princess.” I kissed her back. “Here finish your breakfast or else you will get late for school.

“Daddy is taking me school today.” She said giggling.

“What?” I looked at Rick. “But you are having office...”

“I took a day off.” He said smiling widely at me. I smiled back and pour him a glass of juice. After they finish the breakfast I packed lunch for sweetie and filled her water bottle. I shack items in her bag and put it on her bag.

“Have fun and don’t beat anyone.” I said pecking on her cheek.

“Yes mommy. Bye.” She said waving at me and leaving for garage. After few minutes I heard horn of car and they both were off to her school.

I finish my household work and get a shower. When I get out of the bathroom, rick was already sitting on couch with his phone. He smiled at me.

I pass by him and sat on the dressing table.

“I want to talk about what happen that day...?” he said from his place.

I was combing my hairs. I didn’t reply to his question. I stood up and sat on the edge of the bed facing him.

“Tell me. I want to know.” He said with a hard tone.

“Okay.” I replied with a blunt face. “When we were off for the amusement park the other day, she called on our residence phone.”

“That wrong number...!” and his eyes grew wide.

“Yes. And when were in the shopping complex, I saw her again, in the females corner.” He nodded without any word. He turned toward me.

“Did she say anything to you...?” he asked me shaking my shoulder.

“No. She didn’t saw me.” I said pushing his hand away from me.

“Why are you acting like this...? Are you not afraid what she does to me, to you and everyone else?” I asked him leaving him alone in the room.

“So this is the right phone number. That means it was her. Julia.”
