19 SOMEONE

“Ding dong!” Someone was at the doorstep.

I rubbed my eyes and lift my hand to see the time in clock. It was eight in the morning. I looked at Nova who was still lost in his own dreamland.

“Ding Dong!” someone was really at the door. I stood up and moved toward the entrance. It was a knock this time.

“Hello?” said the male voice. I hold the knob and turned it to open. It was Kai.

“Hi! Good morning.” he said saying with an eye to eye smile.

“Oh. Hi!” I said looking at him. He was looking at me from head to toe. I then remember that I was still in my night comfy. With the remembrance of reality I lose out my shirt and tuck my hairs in a bun. Kai was still looking at me.

“I mean Good morning!” I said in a fast pace.

“I guess you had fun yesterday...” he said sarcastically.

“What...?” I said with a shock.

“Can I come inside...?” he said.

“Y-yes. Please. I’m sorry.” I said in embarrassment.

“Ha-ha. It’s okay.” He replied moving inside as I shut the door.

“Where is Nova...?” he said moving toward living room. Before I could say anything he saw Nova sleeping there. The living room was a mess.

“Wow!” he said in astonishment. “He is still sleeping.”

“Yes. We...” and before I could say anything he pat Nova’s back and pinched his nose.

Nova got up whining and rubbing his eyes.

“good morning Mr. Morning beauty!” said Kai sitting on the couch while I was still standing at the side of my mattress shocked what was going on.

“Hmm.” Nova looked at me and smiled and wished me good morning. I smiled back at him. He then turned toward Kai.

“What are you doing here at this early morning...?” said Nova getting up from the temporary bed and folding his blanket.

“How rude.” Kai said in a low key tone. “I came to take car back. Dad is going back to London. And I have to take mom to hospital for her follow up.”

“Oh.” Nova said as he turned and moved to his room.

“How was your evening yesterday...?” Kai asked me.

“Ah. It was good.” I replied with hesitation.

“hm.” He nodded. Nova appeared again in living room in few moments.

“here.” He said throwing keys toward Kai. “Thanks man.”

“No problem man.” Kai replied standing up from the couch. “I hope you had fun.” Kai added looking at me.

“Yes. Very much. And all thanks to you.” Nova said hugging him.

“I better get going now. Mom will be waiting for me.” Kai said making his way toward entrance of the house.

“So early.” I said instantly which made him stop. He turned around and looked at me and Nova.

“It will get late.” Kai said with a smile. Nova looked at me as if he was saying me that I should response.

“okay.” I said with embarrassment.

“Ha-ha. Next time I will make sure to spare time for a coffee.” He said winking at Nova. They both laughed and I joined them. Nova moved ahead and opened door for him.

“Bye Licia.” He said moving toward Nova. “Bye man.” With this they shake hands and he left us alone in the house. I was still standing at that place. Nova closed the door and entered the living room. My face was flushed. He looked at me and smiled and with n time we both burst out in laughter. We were rolling on the mattresses with tears in eyes.

After few moments Nova’s phone ring. He got up to get the call. He picked the phone as I moved to the kitchen. I drink a glass of water. I came back to the living room. Nova was still on the call. He stood up and moved to his room. I made my way to my room to get fresh and change. After half an hour I came downstairs. Living room was clean. Everything was at its place back and my pillow and blanket were on the couch.

“Nova?” I shouted from the living room.

“Yes?” he yelled back from his room. “I’m in bath room.” He added.

“okay.” I replied and pick my sleeping stuff and again moved back to my room and adjusted everything. It took fifteen minutes to clean up my room. After everything I took a final look at everything and moved downstairs.

“Nova?” I yelled moving toward kitchen.

“Why are you shouting...?” Nova asked me.

“Oh. I’m sorry. I thought you were still in bath.” I said smiling and pouting.

“Ah. You are very chaotic.” He said patting my head.

“w-what? I said with a confused look.

“nothing.” He said filling two cups with coffee and handing one to me.

“Thank you.” I said taking a sip of coffee. He nodded. We had coffee standing in the kitchen with pin drop silence.

“Why don’t you call me for adjusting living room...?” I asked him.

“It’s nothing. I can also do things.” He said smiling at me.

“Okay. But you should have called me.” I replied rolling my eyes.

He laughed at my reaction. We finished our coffee and get out of kitchen.

It was nine. I took the cleaning utilities and stated to do my daily job.

“Let me help you.” Nova said taking vacuum from my hand.

“no.” I denied.

“Why? You do it daily. Let me help you today.” He said but I snatched it back from him.

“If that is the case then water the plants.” I said to him in a high tone. He looked at me with wide eyes.

“You are so...” he was about to add something when I cut him off.

“What did you say...?” I said with cat eyes.

“No. No. Nothing.” He replied. Then he moved toward the lawn.

After few minutes I was done with my work when Nova entered the living room again.

“I’m hungry.” He said in an innocent tone.

“Hm. Me too.” I replied and we both smiled.

I moved toward kitchen and prepared our breakfast that was about to be our lunch While Nova was watching a volleyball match on the TV.

After setting the table I called him and we had our mid morning breakfast. We had a little chat about his friend Nova.

Suddenly Nova asked me if I was okay.

“Yes. I’m good.” I replied casually.

“No. I mean if there is anything that is bothering you. You can talk to me right.” He said with a concerned voice as I turned to the sink with dishes. I turned back toward him and looked at his eyes. Our gaze met.

“Everything is good.” I assured him. And I turned back to do the dishes.

“Okay. But of someone bother you. You can talk to me about it. Okay.” Nova said to me taking a glass of water. I got stiff with his comment.

“Someone!”

His word ring in her ears like a bell of a church. She was numb as he said those words. Nova was still there watching her getting frozen with unexpected attack of questions. He put his hand on her shoulder pulling her back to the normal state.

“Hey! Is there anything that is bothering you...?” Nova asked her with a soothing voice.

“Hm. No. No. Nothing. Everything is fine.” I said taking his turning toward him.

“For real...?” he attacked again.

“yep.” I answered gathering all my confidence. Then i turn back to the sink ding what I was doing before. He turned back to the living room and settled himself on sofa watching some sports event on TV.

My head was still ringing with that “someone”.
