10 Chapter 9

As soon as the food has been placed on the table, Heng's eyes could not stop sparkling. This is the luxury life of imperial family ah! She is not even sure if she ever tried all the dishes on the table.

"Heng, should we have another competition?" Asked Li Wei. These past three months, this has become his habit to compete who eats the most with Heng. To begin with, he is a glutton, he reduce his food intake because of his work load and also due to Feng Jiu nagging him as she is worried he will get fat as he does not exercise a lot. But now, with Heng around, he exercise every morning and sometimes in the evening as well allowing him to eat more especially when you have partner who can eat as much as you are.

Hearing his question, Heng's eyes sparks even more. For her, eating good food is a pleasure for life. If the food is good, she will not hold herself to only eat a little. Why? It's a waste ah! The chef already put his soul and heart into the food so she needs to make sure the plate will be squeaky cleaned. Yes, this is definitely a valid justification. She then ask, "What is the bet this time?"

So far, she has been collecting lots of money and goods from Li Wei as he never won the competition. She was thinking what kind of things she needs to get this time from Li Wei when the Empress suddenly said, "Li Jun ah, you are here finally."

Heng's thought directly got disrupted when she sees a new face wearing dark blue robes walking unhurriedly towards the table. Handsome! Manly! She did not expect this ah! Ever since she lives in this world, she struggles to understand the standard beauty in this era. Most of men she met is either too skinny, too feminine or just simply wannabe thugs.

She classified Li Wei as a baby face daddy, his looks is similar of those in late 20s while his real age is actually mid 30s already. The Emperor on the other hand has a very sharp features making him looks even more domineering and suitable as a leader. She is not sure how good he is as a leader but she feels he is really funny when he is trying to curry a favor from his wife.

She assumes this should be one of the Emperor kid, seeing his physical age he should be the famous first son. His looks is definitely one of a kind, thick eyebrows, big dark eyes, sharp jawline and the visible Adam's apple.... She was in a bit of dazed seeing this man who can be a famous artist in her world. When she recovers, she shakes her head. Can't believe as an old lady mentally she actually still be in a dazed seeing a handsome manly man.

Li Jun's eyes gleamed when he saw Heng's dazed face. When he saw her in his courtyard, he knows that he will finally encounter her face to face today. After investigating her identity since that incident, he becomes more curious about her and want to know further about her. He thought the chance to encounter her directly will be later in the future, who knows that she actually comes today with his aunt and she even dared to pass through his private courtyard. Really, one unique lady.

"Greeting to father, aunt and uncle. Happy birthday mother." Said Li Jun before kissing the Empress' cheeks. Hearing his voice, Heng feels it sounds familiar but she cannot remember where and how she heard this voice. She is sure she never seen him before as his face is not something easily forgotten. She got lost in her own thought when the Empress was introducing her to Li Jun, "That is Heng, the one who saved Feng Jiu. She is now known as their adopted daughter. You should show her around when you are free."

Li Jun mouth curved up into a smile when he heard his mother's instruction. He then looked at Heng who is still lost in her thought and his smile got even deeper, "I will bring her to military barracks in the future."

"We can talk later. Let's eat first for now. Heng ah, are we still going to bet?" Asked Li Wei. With that question, Heng's mind finally went back to earth. She gave a lopsided grin to Li Wei, "Father, if you want to decrease your collections and money, I am more than willing to do it." Thinking of extra income she is going to get soon, her eyes twinkled and she unconsciously smiled brightly.

Feng Jiu knowing what will happen soon can only helplessly shake her head before saying to the other three, "You three should start eating first. These two glutton will forget the word sharing once they start the competition."

The Emperor chuckled hearing it. He knows his younger brother's appetite, ever since he was a kid, his biggest expense is to eat. It is surprising enough that his brother never gotten fat after all the food he consumed over years. "No need to hold yourself, the kitchen has prepared enough for all of us to eat." He is actually curious how this tiny little girl will be able to compete with his younger brother especially after knowing that Li Wei never won from her. He is wondering how her small body could contain all the food.

The thought did not stayed long before it became a shock. The Emperor and The Empress are gawking seeing the amount of dishes vanishing from the table. They were too speechless to the point they forgot to eat!

Li Jun condition is also not far from his parents', the fortunate thing is that he is able to manage his facial expression. Unconsciously, his smiles slipped from his mouth seeing the little girl happily eating the dishes. Her cheeks are pink and her whole face lit up every time new dish is being put in her mouth.

By the end, Li Wei again admit defeats. He still cannot believe after all the competition they had that he really lost ah! Worse, the little girl is not full yet while he cannot stuffed anymore food in his mouth. She ever dared to ask for dessert ah!
