4 Fussing Parents

Oohhh that feels good...was my first thought as I immersed myself into the ice cold bath. It started going down a little and for just a split second, I could almost taste the victory.

But alas! fate had other plans for me. As I sat in my cold bath waiting desperately for my soldier to surrender, my mind went on a trip.

Believe me when I tell you that I feel like I am my own worst nightmare, my very own enemy of progress. Why did my mind have to go and think about things I was desperately trying to avoid!!!

Mrs Johnson!!!!!! There should really be a law against hot people teaching. I was trying to justify my insane thoughts as I lay there wondering whether this situation was unique to me. I knew I was always one of a kind but surely this isn't what my mom meant when she said I was special and always set apart from the rest.

It seems this whole cold water thing was a burst. I sat there wishing I could remember the exact person who suggested it so that I could strangle them. And just like that, there went my Plan B down the drain.

People around me always claimed that I was smart and innovative, where did all my smart go?? I really needed it in moments like this!!!

Getting out of the tab with my fair skin almost purple from the cold, my naturally blond hair at and in my face, I could not even bask in how great my abs were coming along as I did every night after a shower because all I could do was think about how to get my damn soldier down. Thats it...it seems I've gone over to the dark side cursing even in my mind.

I lay on my bed just listening to the sound of the clock. It was probably around 8:30pm because I could here the guests that had gathered down stairs depart.

"Brad, can you come down for something to eat darling?" I heard my mom call from the living room.

By this time I felt like a failure and didn't bother replying her concerns which was a big mistake on my part because I have lived with Mrs Susan Tante all my life and that is how I know that she is very persistent. She will push and push till she eventually gets her way with everything. I really believe she's the reason why everyone respects my dad so much, she is just a force to be reckoned with.

She came to my room with her first aid kit in hand and some water. "I need to check your temperature" before I could even react she had shoved the thermometer under my armpit.

We had the from door open and close. "James" she called out to my dad. "Get up here I think Brad has a fever"

I heard the stairs creek as dad made his way up to my room. That was probably the longest night of my life!!
