Alexander Dupont

Thomas stood at the arrivals hall of the airport and glanced down at his watch. He had been told to pick up a VIP that was flying all the way from France!

This was the first time he was picking up a client from so far away. Usually, they only dealt with the Chinese because they were close by and it didn't cost them much to fly them over, so he knew this man was definitely important.

Of course, Thomas knew that the junket operations managed by Everett involved illegal dealings; he knew about the money laundering, the high-interest loans and the man's connections to the gangs. But, he wasn't afraid of being involved as long as he received money.

He wasn't a criminal mastermind or anyone with particular smarts. He was simply obedient and loyal, so Everett trusted him. But, it was because of this that he was being unknowingly set up as a scapegoat. Why else was he always the face of the operation?
