8 Rich? No, he was a piece of rag!

WidowHills Station.

"Open this bloody cell." Xavier screamed as Kate passed the prison and sat in her chair. He clutched the metal bars and pulled them in frustration.

Who in the world would have guessed humans named their drugs amulets? The dealer tricked him and he did nothing wrong under human law.

"They won't. So please stop shouting." Yael grumbled crossing his arms. He was partly angry at him for making such a huge mistake.

How could he fall for a mere human's words? He even was confident about getting a pure amulet stone but what they got was something unholy!

"Release me!" Xavier shouted again and Yael sighed out loud. He just hoped Lia would arrive soon and resolve this matter.

"He is such a pain." Kate grumbled shaking her head and turning around her desk, she looked at the accused's profiles.

Her eyes squinted when Xavier's profile appeared on her screen and she turned back to confirm his face. He belonged to Klinton City and was on a business trip. She moved to Yael's profile and frowned at seeing the same details.

"Are they brothers?" She asked the cop sitting beside her who nodded looking at the two guys. The cop had received a report from the Klinton Bureau that the two guys in question were actually brothers and came from a renowned family.

"Their family is famous in the real estate business. And even owns a few companies." The cop added looking at Xavier who started throwing tantrums again.

"Money can make people do strange things." Kate mumbled glancing at him and sighed out loud.

Kate's anger began to rise as she watched Xavier's behavior escalate. This guy was being a total nuisance and she wanted to beat the crap out of him. Taking a deep breath, she got up to shut him up but stopped when a group of attorneys walked into the station.

"Finally," Yael breathed out as he saw Lia walking with her people. He was feeling nauseous again and wanted to leave soon.

Kate frowned when her good-for-nothing chief rushed into the station. He panted out loud supporting his knees and her frown grew deeper at his outfit. Why was he here in his robe?

When he saw the two influential men behind bars, he roared, "Who locked them?"

"Release them! Right now!" He yelled at his assistant who frantically searched for keys. He had warned Kate to wait until the chief was here. But she was stubborn and threw them in the cell.

"We will mail you the report. Please release it to the press." Lia told the officer with a slight bow. Her team provided the papers of custody.

Derrick's face paled looking at all the clauses and consequences they might be facing for false allegations. He glared at Kate in frustration. She had put them on the radar again with her stupid bravery.

Kate took the papers from his hands and scoffed reading it. So they wanted to see them cower in fear and release these men? Rich people sure had their way out of legal troubles.

"We have testimony who confirmed that they wanted drugs." Throwing the papers on her desk, Kate looked at Lia and said, "So you better leave and prepare for a court hearing."

"We didn't," Xavier grumbled again but when Lia glared at him, he closed his mouth. It was her job to handle and he better stop adding fuel to the fire.

"Are you nuts?" Derrick gritted his teeth but stopped when Lia stepped forward to answer Kate.

"Can you call the testimony for us? My lawyers want to talk with him." Lia replied with a smile. It was rare to see a cops raise their against influential people.

Kate gestured to the cop to bring the dealer and he soon returned with the man. While Xavier glared at him, Yael shivered at his sight. This man made him sick.

Lia nodded and one of the lawyers walked to the dealer. He looked at him for a moment and questioned, "Tell us the exact truth, John."

"They didn't come for drugs." John said remotely and Kate's brows creased in suspicion. "They mistook the bar for a normal one and I forced them to try the amulets before the police arrived." He added making her frown.

"But that's not what you said earlier." She commented crossing her arms.

"I lied and wanted to blackmail them for money. But now, I have realized my fault."

And she wanted to scoff out loud. This was really odd for someone like him to accept his crime. Something was really off here.

"This town is very new for them and they ended up heading to the wrong bar. We all make mistakes sometimes, don't we?" Lia smiled, adding more justification.

"Can you release us now?" Yael asked, feeling sick to his stomach. He needed to get out of here soon.

Derrick snatched the keys from his assistant and hurried to unlock the cell. Xavier walked out with a grim face while Yael supported himself with bars.

One of Lia's men hurried to help him as Xavier stared at the arrogant cop. Kate glared back at him but couldn't do anything.

There were no more proofs or evidence that nullified their innocent claims. Unlike others in the bar, their blood tests showed no signs of drug use. So, she decided to leave them for now and watch their activities. Specifically, this crackhead Xavier.

"Thank you." Lia smiled and nodded at Kate before walking out. Kate nodded back but her mind grew suspicious.

Why did they look so odd? They didn't carry the rich, influential energy she often felt in the high society bloodline.

And as soon as they reached the parking area, she stopped and stared at Xavier in disappointment.

"How can you be so dumb, Xav?"

"How would I know humans had drugs named amulets?" He grumbled in defense.

"Next time you act recklessly, trust me the higher-ups will grill you in hell. And I won't save like today." And when Xavier rolled his eyes, she added, "And stop using your compulsion tricks on humans! Some are very immune to it and you might end up with broken bones!!"

Humans never liked being commanded and Xavier always behaved like a king which was scary.

"Can we leave? I am feeling sick!" Yael complained holding up his stomach. He was prone to stress easily and Lia sighed out loud.

"Where's your other brother?" She asked gesturing for her men to take Yael away. She needed to discuss something critical with him. Something about Ziana and the recent attacks on her.

"He is at Ziana's house."

Lia nodded and decided to visit them later. They first needed to find a human doctor for Yael.

--

"You are here on a business trip and staying at your aunt's house. Since we both live in the same neighborhood, I decided to share the cab at the Newfield junction."

And when Zayden looked interested, Ziana continued, "I looked pale and was down with a high fever on our way, so you took me to the hospital, did my checkups, and waited until my IVs were done till morning." Ziana made up a whole plot.

"You dropped me at my house. I requested you to stay for breakfast to express my gratitude and you agreed. Since you looked tired, I asked you to rest in my room for a while. And that's why you were on my bed." She finished her story with a smile and asked, "Is it okay?"

Zayden crossed his legs and thought about it. Shaking his head in disapproval, he replied, "I don't like it."

"Dude, this is my fourth round! How can you not like anything?" Ziana grumbled in frustration. Oh well, it was her fault for expecting him to come to an agreement.

"I don't like sick people." Zayden justified forcing Ziana to take a deep breath. Her fists clenched tightly and she wanted to punch him right away.

"Then what else do you want me to say?" Sighing out loud, she grumbled. "That I fell in love with you last night and you married me out of kindness?"

"Yeah, that sounds good." Zayden nodded and smiled. "I like it."

This fricking creature!

Before she could mock his audacity, the siren caught her ears and she turned around to look out of her window. Her eyes popped out when the police car stopped in front of her.

Wait! Did Kate really bring her team to arrest this creature?

Oh, well she won't stop her! She would even agree that he had accused her and let him rest in prison for a while. The punishment might be longer than 3 months. Right?

She got up from her couch and walked out of the house. Zayden followed her out of curiosity.

The cops were looking at his brand-new car and she frowned. Why wasn't Kate here? These cops didn't belong to WidowHills station.

Her eyes then landed on a guy wearing branded clothes. He was talking to the cops and gesturing toward the car. She frowned in confusion.

"Are you the owner of this car?" The cop asked pointing at the car.

"Yes. Why?" Ziana asked even before Zayden opened his mouth. They were married now, and his wealth was also hers. Wasn't it?

"Well, you are under arrest for stealing it." The cop said walking towards her. He even took out his cuffs much to her horror.

"Wait. What?" Ziana blinked in shock and turned around to Zayden.

"You stole it?" She shrieked when the cop started cuffing her hands and Zayden simply enjoyed the scene.

"I didn't steal it." Zayden answered, feeling offended by her words.

Looking at the car and then its owner, he added, "I just picked it up from the bar."

And Ziana felt her soul leave her body at his words.

This piece of shit!
