A subway scandal -1

"I regret saving your snobby head," Ziana cursed, glaring at the man who had attacked her. She twisted his hand and kicked him in the stomach, causing him to fall to the ground. However, two more men quickly lunged at her.

"Well, you did that on your own," Zayden replied, leaning back on the counter. "I did not ask for your chivalry," he added, crossing his arms.

His eyes twinkled, and a smirk appeared on his lips as Ziana scowled at him. Teasing her had become his new hobby, and he loved the way her eyes tried to suck out his soul.

Ziana rolled her eyes as he smiled at her. He loved pushing her buttons and testing her forbearance, and all she could do was endure it for three more months. Yes, just three more months!

Taking a deep breath, she continued lashing out at her attackers, taking them down one by one with a flurry of kicks and punches. Despite being outnumbered, her courage didn't falter. She fought with a strength and skill that belied her size, and soon her attackers were all lying on the ground.

Zayden watched her fight with amusement. Despite her snarky attitude, she had impressive combat skills like her father. He knew she didn't need his help, but he couldn't resist the opportunity to tease her.

"But there's a way out," he said, catching Ziana's attention. "I can make all of them kneel in front of you if we unblock my powers."

"How?" Ziana asked, pushing away the man who had tried to grab her arm from behind. She kicked his knee and landed him on the ground with a backflip. The man curled up in pain while she dodged a punch from another guy. She swiftly caught his arm and pinned it to his back.

These men weren't stopping at all, and she really needed his help. She was a human, unlike him, and her body was strained.

"A kiss from my mortal connection can awaken the reaper inside me."

Ziana blinked, trying to understand his words. A kiss? From his mortal connection? A frown descended on her face when she realized who it was.

"You piece of,"

Punch.

Before she could curse him completely, one of the men used her distraction as an opportunity and punched her. The sharp pain made her stumble back and touch her aching cheek. It also caused her to loosen her grip on the man she had been holding, who immediately rushed to his men's side.

"Ouch. That was harsh," Zayden commented, and Ziana scorned at him.

Here she hoped Zayden would ease the differences between them by joining the fight. She had even imagined starting afresh, but he only made things worse, and her hatred for him grew stronger.

Wiping blood from the corner of her lips, she glared at Zayden and prepared to fight back. Three men lunged in her direction, and she rapidly spun around, dodging their attack. She quickly grabbed a nearby chair and swung it towards the men, sending them flying back as she quickly gathered momentum and readied herself to strike again.

"Alright, I think you really need some help," Zayden mumbled as Ziana struggled against the men attacking her.

Taking out his phone, he dialed Lia, who was busy tracking Katherine's location. She had gone missing since yesterday, and they needed to monitor her.

"What is it now?" Lia grumbled as soon as she picked up the phone.

Ignoring her anger, Zayden replied, "Unblock my powers."

"Lady Winter ordered not to release them for a few more days," Lia replied, making him frown. So they were punishing him for playing with Ziana.

"If that's the case, please let her know that her little human is in danger," he replied and shifted to video call. "She won't survive if I don't stop this fight."

Lia's eyes widened at the scene on the screen. Several men were trying to restrain Ziana, who was struggling to fend them off. Eventually, they caught her, and Ziana glared helplessly in Zayden's direction.

"How did you both even get there?" Lia asked.

"The question is, how will we escape if you don't follow my order?" Zayden said, turning the camera towards him. Lia sulked, feeling tricked, but in the end, she obeyed his plea.

"Alright. But I will tear you apart if you leave her to suffer," she warned before ending the call.

Ziana tried to free herself as three men held her tightly. The bald man snickered, his hand reaching for a nearby bottle, and she panicked. Her eyes darted towards Zayden, begging for help, but he just smiled at her.

"You bloody--"

"Alright, the play is over," Zayden cut her off and stepped forward. He put his phone back into his pocket, snapped his fingers, and the whole place became still. It was almost as if time had frozen; the audience completely stopped, and all that could be heard was the faint sound of the music.

Ziana looked at the bald man in shock as his hand hovered in the air. She turned to the men holding her and blinked in confusion. Even the air seemed to stop moving around them.

Zayden smirked, satisfied with her reaction, and snapped his fingers again. The bald man blinked in confusion before looking at her. He sneered and raised the bottle to hit her again.

Ziana's eyes widened, and she furiously glared at the wicked creature who was playing with her again. She closed her eyes, ready to bear the attack, but Zayden snapped his fingers again.

"Are you nuts?" she yelled in frustration and struggled to free herself. Despite her efforts, the men who stood like statues held her tight.

"Release me, damn it!" she screamed as Zayden watched her with a smile. He walked over to her, slowly removed the bottle from the bald man's hand, and placed it on the counter.

"You should thank me later," he boasted, releasing her from their grip.

Ziana rubbed her wrist and watched him with a glare. She wanted to say something, but arguing with him was just a waste of energy. Picking her bag from the ground, she dusted it off and, with one final glare at him, walked out of the club.

Zayden smiled as she left and snapped his fingers again. Everyone looked around in daze, and the bald man stared at his hand suspended in the air in confusion.

"Now, kneel and beg for mercy," Zayden ordered, his command returning him to reality. The group of men who had crossed the line earlier also looked at him in confusion. Glancing at his watch, Zayden added, "I will let you go easily this time."

The men easily dropped to their knees, surprising everyone in the bar. Even the manager gasped in shock as the bald man bowed to Zayden, almost touching his shoes.

"We are sorry, sir. Please spare us," he murmured, his cracking voice satisfying Zayden's wounded pride. Even the woman responsible for this mess fell to her knees, and he smiled contentedly.

Zayden turned to the manager and locked eyes with him. "Erase today's footage. I don't want my little wife to get into trouble," he declared with a smile.

When the manager nodded, Zayden smirked and walked out of the club. This small dispute would cost him a punishment, but it was worth it. After all, he got to see his little grumpy cat turn into a lioness.

"Shit!" His wound started to hurt, and he cursed Inwardly. Taking a deep breath, he made his way toward his car as he still needed to make sure she reached home safely.

Ziana walked towards the subway with a grim expression. Her whole mood was spoiled by that bloody creature. She wanted to see him suffer and feel the pain, but her heart was against it.

"I should have just let that dude smack him," she grumbled, descending down the steps. Sliding her pass, she made her way toward the subway.

She sat on a nearby bench and waited for her train. Her eyes scanned the bustling crowd at the station. While some looked exhausted, others were excited to go home and call it a day. A couple sitting on the bench next to her caught her attention, and a sigh escaped her lips.

The fight drained her so much that she forgot why she even went to the bar. Those bittersweet memories stinging her heart were now replaced with tiredness, and all she wanted to do was close her eyes and sleep.

Closing her eyes, Ziana leaned back on the bench and relaxed. But just as she was about to drift off, she heard a familiar voice calling her name.

"Darling, you can't escape now."

Ziana gasped out loud, her eyes widening in shock. That voice, that familiar irritating scent. It was the mind demon again!

But when she looked around, she realized there was no one else except for her. The whole station was empty, filled with silence. The lights started to blink, warning her of the danger as she frantically got up.

The electric screeching sounds got closer, and a train stopped right in front of her. Before she could react, a strong force pulled her inside the train and locked the door.

It started its ride, taking her on a thrilling adventure.
