26 Goodbye Hellviana

"IS EVERYONE HERE READY?!"

"READY!!"

"LET'S LEAVE THIS F*CKING SCHOOL!"

In an instant, James jumped towards the door where all the guards were currently shooting their electric bullets. Later on, his hair quickly illuminated a bright red-orange color and his eyes quickly turned vibrant orange. His skin steamed and white smoke came out of his pores in his skin. He elevated his right hand and yanked it forward as a massive gust of flames formed on his hand. The massive flame burst out of the room where we were in and engulfed the door frame, the guards standing beside it, and everything in its path.

Theo immediately did his contribution and assisted James. A strong gust of wind suddenly materialized around the room and into his body, his hair danced aggressively as the wind danced around him. He leads the wind into James' fire further enlarging its size and scope.

The men in black suits momentarily stopped shooting as they tried to run away from the raging flames coming towards them. That may be our opening but we had to make sure that it's safe for us to go outside the room.

"Theo, use this steam coming out of my skin as a smokescreen so they can't see us escaping this room." I somehow managed to hear James' instruction to Theo who was getting pale from using all of his strength and power controlling the wind.

"Great idea," Theo replied. He raised his other arm and split the wind in half. He redirected the other wind into James' body, picking up the white smoke streaming out of his skin and directing it outside the room and onto the hallway.

"These kids are clever than we thought, send in the Jugernaughts." I heard one of the men outside speaking. I looked at Layla and tried my best to open my mouth but I was still immobilized. I closed my eyes and went into my head to calm myself.

"You freaking useless lump of meat and bones! Why can't you move!" I yelled out inside my head, letting out my frustration. I yelled, cursed, and hissed at myself and to the non-existent void inside my head.

All of a sudden I heard a voice of a man laughing in the shadows, I squinted my eyes hoping that my vision would adapt to the darkness but I still couldn't see anyone.

"You will never escape my school. I won't let you and your friends step a foot out of this room." The voice sneakered.

"My school? Principal, is this you?" I called out to the voice.

"You can't escape this school Zion, and neither will your friends." The voice continued to laugh and laugh, its voice becomes deeper and deeper after the last laugh.

"Shut up," I whispered but the voice continued to mock me.

"You know that there's something inside you, Zion, you can feel its power growing but you're afraid of it. Why?" The voice questioned. A huge surge of pain irrupted out of my body. I fell on my knees and clenched myself, praying for the pain to suddenly go away.

"I... I don't know what you're talking about. I just learned that I have these abilities." I replied as tears formed in my eyes. The pain grew intensely, I could feel my soul slowly tearing apart, bit by bit.

"Zion, manipulator of space, time, and realities. The Son of the Greatest Evil. The Promised Land of all humanity. Why don't you know who you are? Why are you afraid of the truth? WHY ARE YOU AFRAID OF YOURSELF!" The voice hissed. I was confused about what he was talking about, confused about all the things he said to me, "Son of the Greatest Evil?" "The Promised Land of all humanity?", what on earth is this voice talking about!

"Because I can't accept myself. I'm afraid of the responsibilities and my destiny. What lies ahead into the unknown scares me." I suddenly said. I was surprised by what I've replied. It was as if my body knew something I didn't.

"Interesting." The voice replied. It again laughed and laughed and laughed. By the time I heard the voice's final laugh, it didn't sound human anymore, it sounded more like a monster's snarl coming out of the shadows and jumping towards me coming to kill me, its prey.

I opened my eyes and saw carnage around me. The ceiling lights were flickering and the walls around me were now broken and damaged, with claw marks embedded on some of them. Blood, guts, and numerous lifeless bodies were around me. I ran towards every body to see if one of them were my friends but thankfully I couldn't find any of their faces among the bodies scattered along the hallway. The bodies were somehow all of the men wearing black armors, but I wasn't in the room anymore, how did I end up in here? Where are my friends?

"Zion, are you... Is that finally you?" James came out of a corner, his eyes were filled with worry and fear.

"James? Wha-What the hell happened? Where the hell are we?" I asked. A sudden surge of pain emulated in my body and I was thrown out of balance. I clutched my head and started walking towards James. I looked at my arms as I continued to walk and saw it covered with blood, both of them are.

"You passed out Zion. Layla told us that you couldn't move, so she carried you as we tried to escape. The guards suddenly came and outnumbered us. We tried our best to fight them off but there were just too many of them." James explained, he paused and took a huge breath.

"You suddenly awoke but.... You were different. Your body started to grow and your voice became deeper and louder. You grew out two sets of horns and had multiple eyes around your face." He continued. I saw him trembling in fear, so I cupped his cheeks and wiped the tears streaming down his eyes but that instead gave him a streak of blood instead.

"You went wild Zion, you murdered all these men. We managed to escape and ran away from you, b-but I stayed behind because I... I didn't want to leave you." He broke down in tears. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The tough, mean, and strong James was crying in front of me. My heart fluttered seeing him cry, so I responded to his tears with a deep hug.

"Why are you crying? Were you worried about me?" I asked him. He slowly pulled himself out of the hug and looked me in the eye.

"So much."

James and I walked all over the empty building looking for the others. Thankfully we found them and saw that they were productive. They were all packing up everything important. Food, water, clothes, medicine, and entertainment like books and magazines. We debated whether we should bring the phones the school gave us when we arrived in the new building but we eventually decided to leave them behind fearing that the school would use the phones to track us.

"By the way, where are the other Hellvanian Elites and Extraordinaires in this building?" I asked the busy Layla. She took some granola bars in the kitchen and stuffed them inside her bag.

"I have no idea. When we were running away from you, they were already gone." She replied.

She zipped her bag close and wore it on her back. She then looked at me and said, "I don't know what happened to you... and how you managed to become a literal devil creature but you really need to control yourself because I know that you were not in control of that body. And that is a trouble brewing, you might suddenly change in the middle of the night and smash our skulls unknowingly."

"I know... I honestly don't know what is happening with me right now. All these things and information just came out of nowhere without leaving any context for me to understand." I commented. Layla patted my head softly and smiled.

"Relax, we'll get to that problem eventually but we need to get out of this building and out of this school for now." She replied, reassuring me.

Layla was right this wan't the time to figure out my past and all those weird titles that devil voice gave me. We need to focus on what lies ahead, escaping Hellviana.

"Let's go, the others are probably waiting for us." Layla said as she got up and started to walk away.

Once we existed the "waiting building", we somehow got away with no awaiting troops of guards in front of us once we stepped out of building, disappointing Theo who was ready to fight. Our escape was peaceful, aside from what happened earlier. We stepped on the road and breathe the fresh air of freedom, looking back at the school that gave hell to us for the past couple of days.

"Good bye Hellviana." I declared proudly.

"They're probably cooking up a plan to get us back into their walls." Octavia quipped.

"Good, it would be nice to see their plans to put tubes inside our bodies fail, again." Theo snickered.

"Guys, let's go. We'll lose daylight if we keep talking." Layla ordered, we happily took her advice and started walking away.

I looked up the sky and smiled. The blue and crystal sky comforts me, the sky reminds me of life itself. It may suck at times and it may be good to you sometimes but it always goes on. Life always goes on.

"What are you looking at?" I turned at my side and saw a grinning James.

"Currently, I'm looking at a "tough, strong, and cool" guy who cried because he saw his dear friend turning into a devil creature." I teased. He scrunched his goofy face in response.

"Good to know that you like to look at me." He responded. I couldn't believe he managed to turn the tables on me and made a comeback. I only managed to let out a laugh at his comment.

(Meanwhile)

"Sir they managed to escape the building and it seemed like one of them turned into some sort of a demon and slaughtered our men. Should we call in more guards to arrest them?" One of the high guards, tasked on monitoring the elites on the monitors inform the man on the red chair. The man turned his chair and faced him, he looked at the guard and smiled at what he just said.

"No, let them escape. These children are young and naive, so sending them into Valhalla is a waste to their potentials, especially Zion. Lay no finger on them and let them grow and become strong." He calmly ordered. The man on the red chair emulated a strong dark and evil aura, strong enough that everything he sees becomes weak and incapable to speak. The high guard clenched its teeth to control himself as the eyes of the man on the red chair intimidated him.

"Oh, and bring me that Principal. I want the new batch of students to enter Hellviana tomorrow." The man on the red chair added, the high guard quickly took note of it.

"Roger that." The high guard bowed down and quickly left the room, leaving the man on the red chair excited for the future and what lies ahead.

"Zion, the son of the Greatest Evil, the supposed Promised Land of all humanity. I cannot wait till I face you. May our battle be glorious as the prophecy proclaims to be." The man on the red chair sips his coffee as he looks on the window and onto the arriving vehicle. One by one, a new batch of elites came out of the bus, completely unaware what will happen to them in the coming days.
