{ THE CHAPEL }

A light skinned woman looking to be in her late twenties was laying in what seemed to be a makeshift bed could be seen moving in a discomforted manner on the bed with a pained expression on her face.

Her features looked to be quite delicate with a pair of dark eyes, long silk dark hair that ran all the way to her spine, a well shaped cheek bone as well as prominent dimples sticking out the sides bringing out her tender beauty even more.

The beauty seemed to be heavy with child as her belly stuck out as a mountainous prominence.

A group of nuns, numbering about five in number, could be seen swarming around the heavily pregnant woman while trying to offer up some kind of relief to the pains of the pregnant lady.

Soon enough, the door to the room they are in is swung open and a dark haired man with a light skin looking to be in his thirties walks in with a worried look on his face. He was a rather talk figure with a ripped physique even underneath the battle attire that he wore.

His features seemed to be chiselled out of stone with a well shaped nose and jaw line.

The man stares at the pregnant lady for a while with a concerned look in his eyes with the latter staring back with a reassuring smile. They seemed to stare at each other for a while before the man quickly moves up to the bed and sits beside the woman after which he takes a hold of her hand and holds it in his.

"My love... what's wrong??."

The man asks with a worried look on his face.

"The baby is coming now…"

The lady replies in a weak voice amidst groans

"Shit… this is the worst time, couldn't it wait till after we got to a safe place??...there's no telling what might happen if you stay here to deliver, Martha."

The man remarks in a worried tone with a bit of sarcasm laced in his words.

"You make it sound like as though I can control it, don't you dare upset me now, Elijah."

Martha replies with annoyance as she stared darts at the man seated beside her

"Sorry my dear, I didn't mean it like that but I'm sure you realize that this church is under attack, I'm not sure how long it would be able to hold."

Elijah replies in an apologetic tone with his left palm placed behind his head and his right gently caressing Martha's hand.

"Then go outside and deal with it and stop stressing me here, nurse tell him to leave, he is causing more disturbance than actually helping."

Martha remarks still upset after which the nurse rises up and leads Elijah out of the room with the latter only letting out a pout.

OUTSIDE THE CHAPEL

"I'm sorry Mr Creed but your wife doesn't need any stress at the moment, we don't know how long it would take before we are done but the truth is that right now we can't move her as she is due any minute now."

The nun remarks trying to calm Elijah's nerves.

"I understand nurse, just take care of her… don't worry about the chaos outside, I and the rest of the chosen will try to deal with it."

Elijah remarks in a reassuring manner.

A scream is heard from inside the delivery room which startles both individuals.

"It would seem she's gone into labor, I would have to go in now."

The nun remarks as she immediately turns to enter back into the chapel. she walks into the room and closes the door behind her.

"Damn it… .you guys make sure to guard this place with your life."

Elijah orders with the guards stationed in front of the room obliging his words before watching him leave with worry on his face.

THE CATHEDRAL GARDEN

Elijah walks into the garden to meet with a group of people that were already gathered there, some were easily identifiable as members of the clergy with one of them wearing what seemed to be a bishop's attire.

The other individuals present are dressed in a uniform similar to what Elijah was wearing which implied that they all belonged to the same group.

They seemed to be engaged in a serious discussion but stop at the entrance of Elijah with all individuals present turning their attention to the newcomer.

"Ah… Elijah, I'm glad you could join us, how is Martha?"

The one who spoke was the individual dressed in a bishop's attire, he held a certain aura around him that induced respect even though his elderly looks helped to induce such a presence.

"Archbishop Juan Jose.... She's fine ,she's in labor at the moment but hopefully she'll pull through without any complications."

Elijah replies calmly as he let out a sigh.

"That's good."

The archbishop replies feeling assured.

"We have a problem Elijah. The demons attacking the church are blocking civilians from moving through without losses. The knights are taking a beating and it's not gonna stop any time soon. if we are gonna do something, now's the time."

A dark skinned man who wore the same attire as Elijah remarks with a worried look on his face as he stepped forward.

"The best thing would be to go out there and join in the fight, Marcel.... Hopefully we can buy enough time for civilians to escape as well as enough time for Martha to give birth, what do you guys think??"

Elijah remarks while turning his attention to the group of individuals who were dressed in the same uniform as he was.

"As of now you're our leader seeing that Martha is out of commission, so what ever you decide we'll go with but we can't just jump out there without a plan, as it is we still don't know who is at the helm of this attack."

A blonde lady with a rather alluring appearance replies without mincing words.

"Diane's right, we need a plan."

A dark haired male speaks up this time while nodding in agreement with the blonde

"The plan is simple, we go out there and smash some heads, that wouldn't be so hard."

A muscular man with dark hair speaks up with a smirk while crunching his knuckles, as though he were getting ready for a brawl.

"Is there ever any plan of yours that doesn't involve brute force without thinking, Kane??... For once try to surprise me, seriously."

A lady with brown hair and a sensual figure remarks with a sigh.

"Humph…."

Kane doesn't reply but instead rolls his eyes like he expected the reply.

"That's enough, guys… fighting amongst ourselves won't solve anything, let's go out… we'll be careful but let's not hold back, us holding back could spell doom for everyone here.

...Celia, Harold, Kane, Lincoln, Diane and Marcel. I am asking all of you to lend me your strength right now because I need it to stop the darkness at our gates."

Elijah remarks trying to rally his teammates who seemed to be a bit disjointed due to the situation they found themselves in.

"Aye aye captain, so let's get going already."

A blonde male who seemed to be more boyish than an actual man speaks up for the rest with the others merely nodding in agreement.

"The Lord be with you has you go out to do battle against the forces of darkness."

Archbishop Jose remarks with a wave of his hand.

"Thank you, we'll be leaving now… please ensure that every civilian is able to leave here soon before the battle escalates.."

Elijah remarks as he turns to leave.

"Of course, we'll do our best with the evacuation…"

The archbishop replies with assurance.

"Alright then, I'm heading out…"

Kane remarks as he heads towards the exit in haste..

"Hey wait for us…"

Celia calls out as Kane leaves the garden.
