1 The night I'll never forget... Helloween

I'm walking through the abandoned house in Hallows Street and the floorboards are creaking below my feet. It causes a cold wind to blow past me. I should have never agreed on this dare because it might take my sanity, or worse, my life. It is said that every Halloween the person who enters the house goes missing and that is what inspired my friend's dare.

"Sam, are you scared yet?" yelled Mason from outside the house.

"No!" I yelled back but you could hear the fear in my voice.

He didn't reply and that made me more frightened. Suddenly, a creak could be heard from the staircase and I looked up at it with curiosity. A body suddenly fell down the stairs and I stepped back in fear and surprise of who just fell down the stairs.

I cautiously walked over to the body and looked closer at it. Even in the dim light i could see it was a girl because she had long hair. I yelled in fear when her arm struck out at my feet and a high pitched scream came from my lungs. I ran out the house after getting out of her grip and immediately grabbed Mason and ran down the street back to my house. The whole way I had this feeling that someone was following us.

When we arrived at my house Mason stared at me questioning my actions right before. I went to the front door of my house and beckoned him into my house. He hesitated following a girl who he just identified as slightly mentally ill for running out of the abandoned house with no explanation behind her actions. When we got to the living room and sat down, the question I feared most left his mouth.

"Why did you want to leave the house so quickly?" he asked me with an inquisitive look on his face.

"When I went inside I" my voice wavering, "heard a creak from the staircase and I assumed that no one was in that house moments before, but I was curious and I looked at the staircase. It was the biggest mistake I ever made, a girl fell down the staircase with such force I think that she was pushed. When I went to see if she's okay, her arm struck out at my feet. That is when I ran outside to get you." I told him as I visibly gulped.

He stared at her with disbelief in his eyes.

Suddenly, a loud crashing noise could be heard from her room. I saw the same girl as earlier and she ran towards me with such hatred that my best friend saw her snap my neck as if I'd just fell down the stairs. What he didn't know was that the grudge is now set upon him.

"When someone dies in the grip of a powerful rage a curse is born, once you enter, it will never let you go."~ The Grudge
