14 Trap (1)

"It's an honor to be given the pleasure of attending this cruise party Sir De Roi." The engineer standing in front said jubilantly before bowing his head down slightly towards Quince. The other two engineers immediately bowed right after their leader.

Quince nodded in return before replying,"The honor is all mine."

Queen snickered at that. 'Cunning Smelly Cat!' She couldn't help shaking her head at her cat's stinginess. 'Well at least he'll never be poor.'

There were a total of 3 engineers including the leader that came to greet Quince. Even though they are a small group,they are considered to be one of the most efficient team in the engineering field. Of these 3, 2 of them have at least 10 years' experience in their field. The man whom greeted Quince is the head of the engineers. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. The man on his left has brown hair and brown eyes whereas the man on his right has black hair and brown eyes. They all had tanned complexion, most likely due to the work they do.

After the pleasantries, instead of leaving the head engineer kept staring at Queen. 'What a lovely woman she is!' He was hoping for them to be introduced by their client. However, the other 2 engineers were sweating buckets because they noticed the gaze that kept getting colder and colder from their client.

Queen discreetly tugged at Quince's sleeve, asking him to make the introductions. Without much of a choice, he had to do so.

"This is Mr.Noah Red our head engineer, and the man on his left is Albert Treth whereas the man on his right is Stuart Pline." Quince introduced the engineers briefly to her. "This lady is Miss Queen de la Meilleure." He continued reluctantly.

"A pleasure." Queen ignored Quince's displeasure and gave a slight curtesy to the team.

"No, no, the pleasure is all ours!" The head engineer immediately refuted her words. The other two immediately yelled out the same thing. 'Their client's gaze was gonna freeze them to death!'

Queen giggled charmingly before saying,"What a small team you are! Yet you were able to complete this difficult task assigned by such a big company! You all must be really talented."

"No no not all my lady, it's due to combined efforts and experience acquired." Noah humbly said.

"Even so I would love to learn about what you do. Please tell me all about it!" Queen batted her eyelashes and looked at them admiringly. Quince heart almost stopped beating when he saw that action of hers. Then he was angry without a reason when he saw how love struck Noah looked.

Even though Quince's gaze became colder than ever, the men couldn't resist Queen's charms and started talking about their achievements and futures goals for 40 minutes straight. Queen smiled delightfully and made appropriate 'oohs' and 'aahs' every once in a while. As for Quince....he successfully promoted himself to be the King of Antarctica within this time span.

Later:

"Are you certain the man will appear?" Quince whispered doubtfully.

"Of course you silly cat! You shouldn't doubt me!" Queen whispered back enthusiastically.

"I'm not a silly cat and this better work or else..." Quince whispered and left the remaining words unsaid.

Queen simply rolled her eyes at his nonsense.

Right now these two are in a dark room. Or to be more precise, they are hidden under the victim's bed with the lights switched off. Quince and Queen were lying side by side below the bed. After getting the clues from the engineers that came over to thank Quince for his 'generous' invitation to the party, Queen charmed them into talking about themselves. Through that she learned quite a lot about their personalities and goals.

"So are you going to tell me why we are here?" Quince asked.

"Did you not pay attention when I was talking to them Master Quince?" Queen asked exasperatedly.

"I did but that did not reveal whom the culprit is." Quince retorted back coldly.

Queen rolled her eyes once more before saying, "The purpose is not to reveal the culprit, it's merely to find the suspect." Queen said.

"And you have a suspect in mind?" Quince asked.

"Well yes, but I don't understand what you are doing here." Queen complained. Of course she would complain, after all the space under the bed is truly limited and to prevent anyone from seeing them, they had to stick extra close to each other.
