74 The emperor

"Princess Luna." Lancelot bowed his head down and paid his respect to the princess of the Rhitol empire.

It was his normal routine to escort her everywhere ever since he was appointed as her personal knight.

"Good morning Sir Lancelot." Luna said with a cold expression on her face. Seeing that Lancelot could only sigh internally.

'She's mad at me again.'

"Princess Luna, yesterday I...." Lancelot tried to explain himself to her but before he could say anything further, Luna cut his sentence off.

"I'm going to go eat breakfast. Kindly escort me." Saying that, she walked ahead of him, leaving him behind and completely ignoring him.

"Yes princess." Lancelot bowed his head to accept her order and increased his pace to guard her closely from behind.

Lancelot looked at her back and suppressed the words he wanted to say.

'Even though it's been so many years, her temper is still the same.'

Luna was now at the age of 17.

The cute little girl has now grown into a beautiful woman. Her exquisite face, brunette hair and green eyes had been talked about by many that had seen her. They were awestruck and many poets wrote sonnets for her.

'All those poets that wrote about her fair temperament and grace will definitely be shocked if they knew. I wish they could see her now.'

Lancelot's blue eyes dimmed slightly thinking about the reason for her anger.

Yesterday evening, he made a promise to take her out strolling in town. It was going to be an incognito trip as they were planning to sneak out together.

Lancelot didn't want to take her out as there were many dangers outside but he knew that if he didn't, she would sneak out herself.

That would definitely be worse.

However, there was an urgent meeting that dragged till late night for the knights yesterday. Lancelot, being the personal guard of the princess, especially had to do join this meeting to demonstrate the proper duty of the knights to the newbies.

By the time he was done, it was already late night. He knew Luna would have gone back to bed, mad as hell at him.

Her actions today had proven him right indeed.

Soon enough, they reached the breakfast hall. Luna walked to her place and stood still as she waited for the others.

It was protocol for the princess, being the youngest of royalties, to wait for the other royal members. The other members in the palace, fit to dine with her, simply consist of her father the emperor and her brother the prince.

Soon enough, her brother, whom was voted as the top bachelor of the kingdom, entered. It wasn't any wonder though as, he sported the same green eyes and black hair as his sister. His face was chiseled and there were rough edges on his face, showing his involvement with the military.

He too stood still at his place and waited for his father to enter. He had the usual stoic expression on his face and looked straight ahead without saying a word of greeting to his sister.

Luna was used to his behavior and didn't say anything as well. Though when she was younger, she always cheerfully greeted him but no one knew why she suddenly stopped one day.

Instead, she suddenly became strict with herself and adopted all the proper etiquettes there were. The only time she let herself go was when she hung out with Lancelot.

After a moment, her father, the royal emperor entered. The royal emperor walked in majestically. Even though he was nearing 50, he still looked like he was in his mid 30s. He was tall and had sharp eyes. A light smile forever hung on his lips and the presence radiated from him was enough for men to quake in their boots.

Lancelot stood straighter at his place and all the knights bowed down in greeting when he walked passed.

"Greetings to your highness, the emperor."
