32 Madam Celine

"Ahh that was refreshing!" Queen stretched her arms as she walked out of the bathroom wearing yellow pajamas.

She took the hair dryer out and started to blow dry her hair. Just as she was drying it, she suddenly heard her phone ringing.

'Madam Celine' was the name blinking on her screen.

'About time!' Queen thought as she swiped her phone to pick up the call.

"Hello Madam Celine" Queen greeted the woman cheerily.

"Don't you 'Hello Madam' me you naughty girl!" A cultured voice, with a slight French accent yelled over the phone, forcing Queen to push the phone away from her ear.

Queen had a wide smile on her face, undoubtedly pleased by the 'Madam's' reaction.

"Yes I miss you too." Queen grinned happily.

"Queen! You went to the cruise owned by the De Roi group?!" The voice asked, clearly exasperated.

"My dear Madam Celine Vancroft, was it not your order to let me join the cruise party on behalf of our family?" Queen asked.

"Certainly. Your father and I are pleased that you are finally willing to join the society. But what is this nonsense I hear about a Queen de la Meilleure being introduced in the party as the young master fiancée?" Her mother said anxiously over the phone.

"That's not nonsense~ it's true that I am his fiancée. You told me a couple of months ago, remember?" Queen asked with a cheeky smile on her face.

Queen knew her mother definitely had her hand over her forehead and was definitely massaging it to ease the tension right now.

"Yes! But you were supposed to wait until you were formally introduced to each other. You know we are going to have dinner with them sooner or later." Madam Celine said tiredly, tensed about her daughter antics.

"But mother~" Queen clicked her tongue before saying, "What's the fun in that?"

"Queen Rosalia Vancroft! What do you mean by that?!" Madam Celine immediately tensed up as she heard the strange tone in her daughter's voice.

"Well~~~ it's absolutely nothing to worry about mother dearest."

"Queen don't tell me....the reason for your appearance..."

"Mother! You think too much!" Queen cut her mother's sentence off, laughingly.

"I hope I am overthinking. Because if I find out that I'm not...there will be consequences to pay." Madam Celine warned in a strict tone.

Queen felt goosebumps at her mother's tone. Even though she was almost 50 years old, Madam Celine was still one of the most creative person she had ever met in giving out punishment.

She still remember those punishments she got as a child.

Queen hurriedly cleared her throat before reassuring her mother, "Definitely not! Don't worry mother, I'll be going. Goodnight."

"Goodnight honey. Love you." Her mother said.

"Love you too mother." Queen replied happily.

*Click* The phone went off.

Queen shuddered lightly. "That was close." She whispered to herself. If her mother found out about what she did...she would be dead for sure.

Queen decided to shrug it off before heading back to Quince's office.

*Creak*

The sound of the door to Quince's office opened slightly as a Caramel head poked inside.

"Hey there!" Queen greeted cheerily, before walking into the office like she owned the place.

"You are 5 minutes late." Quince said without looking at her. He was busy looking at the documents One handed over earlier.

"Well I'm a woman. It's my prerogative to be late." Queen replied cheekily.

Queen noticed that he too had taken a shower as his hair was slightly damp. Gone was his suit, to be replaced with a white cotton shirt and soft black pants.

'Is it me or does the cat look somewhat sexy?' Queen thought to herself before shaking her head at her absurd thought. He was just her cat.

"Are you done staring?" Quince asked without raising his head up.

"Certainly!" Queen replied before walking over and taking her place in front of him.

"So what..." Queen began to ask but before she could finish her sentence, a thick pile of papers were put in front of her.

"I am reading about the company they founded and trying to find possible issues that will cause conflict. This pile consist of the time and places they were spotted together...."

Quince said and raised his head up to look at her. He immediately stopped whatever he was saying and gawk at her.

She was wearing yellow pajamas and her make up was all gone. On top of that, there was even a cute pink bunny clip on her head, to prevent hair from falling on her face.

She looked so clean and fresh, her face naturally had a pinkish hue to it. His heart couldn't help skipping a beat at the innocent sight in front of him. He didn't notice it before but now he was smelling the sweet scent of strawberry soap drifting over from her body.

'So...cute...' were the only words ringing in Quince's head.

"What else?" Queen asked as she bent her head to look at the documents, completely oblivious to his stare.

Quince quickly got a hold of himself before saying, "Try to form a pattern and come up with possibilities of their appearance or disappearance."

"Roger!" Queen said before immediately focusing all her attention on the information written on the paper.

Unlike Quince who couldn't seem to find his focus as his attention kept shifting to her. He alternated between stealing a few glances at her and reading the documents in front of him. He could barely understand what was written on the paper.

'Get a hold of yourself! She is just sitting there doing her work diligently. You should be ashamed of yourself!" Quince scolded himself ruthlessly.

This was a really strange experience for Quince as he had never had anyone working late nights with him before. It was the first time having a partner for him.

Seeing her in front of him certainly made him feel strange. It was a good and strangely heartwarming strange though.

Quince took sometime but he was finally able to concentrate on the information in front of him. An hour passed by and he decided to check on how Queen was doing. He looked up and opened his mouth, ready to ask Queen about her information.

Only to be greeted by the sight of her sleeping face.
