58 Fried rice

Queen spent over 30 minutes contemplating her plan and her next move. Something suddenly interrupted her thoughts though.

'Growl'

It was the sound of her tummy letting its hunger be known. It was then that Queen glanced at the clock to see that it was already 1 pm.

"Crap!" Queen said under her breath and immediately jumped off the sofa. It was already 1! Her cat needed to eat medicine and he would certainly be hungry by now.

Queen rushed to the kitchen and as soon as she entered she could smell the food in the air. She then saw Quince standing in front of the pan and stirring something in it.

"You're here." Quince said as he turned to look at her over his shoulder.

"You know how to cook?" Queen was quite surprised as she made her way over to him. She stood beside him and saw that he was stirring rice in the pan.

"One of the many skills required to be the young master." Quince replied briefly as he expertly lifted the pan and flicked his wrist to stir it.

"Cooking?" Queen asked incredulously, "Isn't that something the housekeeper or the cook do for rich young masters?"

"Normally" Quince replied and added the cooked and boiled vegetables into the rice. "Not in this case. Get me salt."

"But why?" Queen asked and walked over to grab the salt from the other side.

"Because I prefer making my food when it's my day off." Quince said simply. The reason was because he didn't like being bothered.

Being the head of the De Roi group for luxuries hotels didn't give him much time. When he did have time, he wanted to relax and have peace and quiet.

For him, peace and quiet meant having no one to disturb him. Not even someone to cook or clean on that day.

"Why don't you just order in?" Queen asked and handed the salt over to Quince. Quince didn't say anything and merely put one small tablespoon of salt into the pan.

"I like home cooked meals." Quince said easily. Being the head of luxury hotels he had eaten countless meals in the restaurants, which meant home cooked food was something completely rare to him.

'Perhaps that's the true luxurious kind of food for me.' Quince mused in his mind.

Soon the food was done and Quince turned the gas off. He got two plates and 2 sets of utensils down from the cabinet before handing it over to Queen.

"Where do you want to eat?" Quince asked. There was a proper dining room in his house but judging from her style, he knew she wouldn't prefer it.

"Same place." Queen said easily and waited for Quince to put the fried rice on her plate. It smelled so good she was almost drooling. He added a few cucumbers on the side and finished with a slight squeeze of lemon.

Queen walked towards the sofa humming happily over her simple meal. Quince had a small smile on his face as he turned to put rice in his own plate before following after her.
