Like a creep

After finally managing to get through a long and boring political science class, it was finally lunch time. The students bid farewell to the political science teacher. It was a moment of relief for Mo Yunru, who had been struggling to keep herself awake throughout the entire class.

Lin Zhiyuan quickly ran off to Xu Ran's classroom in Year 2 class 1, which is where Mo Yunru was assigned.

Finally, Lin Zhiyuan arrived in Xu Ran's classroom.

"Hey! Xu Ran, hurry up!" He called out. The sound of Lin Zhiyuan's voice was loud enough for everyone in the classroom to hear.

"Lin Zhiyuan, stop screaming!" Jian Yi, the man with round glasses, scolded him; he was Year 2 Class' 1 class rep.

"Hehe, sorry, class rep. Xu Ran, hurry up." He apologized, smiling; he looked foolish with that smile of his.

"Wait. Coming." As soon as the boy named Xu Ran heard Lin Zhiyuan call out his name, he immediately began arranging his things on his table.

Xu Ran had a typical bad boy appearance, with his deep brown hair and narrow, slightly slanted eyes, along with a noticeable mole just under his eyes. He fit every criteria for a typical movie-like delinquent bad boy, down to the smallest detail. His appearance left you unsure about whether or not you should be scared or attracted to him.

Then, as Lin Zhiyuan looked up once again, he saw Mo Yunru walking out of the classroom with Ling Ran, the friend she'd made earlier that day. They were talking about something, but he didn't hear what they were talking about clearly.

Her form was elegant and graceful, and her movements were fluid and effortless. And yet, even with her beautiful exterior, there was nothing more intoxicating than the sight of her retreating back. It was as if time had slowed down to a near halt as Lin Zhiyuan watched her walk away, unable to take his eyes off her even for a moment.

"Brother Zhi?" Xu Ran called, but he was zoning out, looking at the hallways. He was looking at Ling Ran. No, he was looking at... our transfer student?

"Brother Zhi?" he called again.

"Hmm," Lin Zhiyuan finally replied. Lin Zhiyuan frowned. "What was talking so long? Was it that hard for you to arrange the things on your table?"

Xu Ran was speechless. He has been calling his name for a while; it was him who was zoning out for so long. He can't believe he was blaming him. Sure, it did take him a while to arrange the things on his table, but he just can't blame him; he was also zoning out and looking at their transfer students.

Whatever floats his boat, I guess. Xu Ran thought.

Xu Ran and Lin Zhiyuan made their way to the school cafeteria on the first floor, where they bought a simple rice and braised pork meal. As the two of them sat down with the rest of the basketball team, they were immediately greeted with the loud bickering and friendly insults commonly exchanged among the school teams basketball members.

As Lin Zhiyuan looked around the cafeteria, his eyes immediately fell upon Mo Yunru and Ling Ran sitting together in the corner of the cafeteria. His eyes were transfixed on the sight of her, as he couldn't help but admire the way Mo Yunru was eating her meal. Her perfect posture, flawless mannerisms, and elegant appearance made her stand out amongst the other students, and he couldn't help but feel an immense attraction towards her.

Unaware of his feelings for Mo Yunru, Lin Zhiyuan simply stared at the sight of her eating her lunch with her friend. His heart was beating a little faster than usual; it felt as if it was threatening to burst out of his chest. His palms were sweaty, and for some reason, his face was flushing slightly. He had never felt this way before, but the feeling felt strangely familiar, and all he could think about was her. It was a new way of feeling that Lin Zhiyuan hadn't experienced before, and he was suddenly feeling overwhelmed with emotions.

Fu Yichen had been observing Lin Zhiyuan for some time now and couldn't help but notice how he was zoning out, which was unlike him. Fu Yichen thought nothing of it initially, until his curiosity got the best of him and he glanced where Lin Zhiyuan was looking. Curious to know what had caused Lin Zhiyuan to be so distracted, he turned his head to see what had caught his attention.

His eyes widened with surprise as his gaze fell upon the girl they had met yesterday. Fu' Yichen's face instantly broke into a smirk, and he knew in that moment that he did not have good intentions.

"I'm right, right, Zhiyuan?" Fu Yichen said out of nowhere. Everyone at the table was confused. What does he mean by being right? Right, what exactly?

Lin Zhiyuan broke from his trance. "Ah, yes, you're right."

Everybody on the table started laughing at him. They can't believe he fell on Fu Yichen's shenanigans.

Fu Yichen let out a loud laugh, covering his mouth as he began to wipe away the tears from his eyes. He was laughing so hard that he could hardly catch his breath, but once he did, he only laughed even harder.

It was obvious that he was enjoying himself immensely, but the reason for his laughter was unclear. Seeing Fu Yichen's reaction to whatever had happened, Lin Zhiyuan's eyes widened. He can't believe Fu Yichen caught him staring at her again. and his heart began beating even faster. He could feel his cheeks flushing even more.

Fu Yichen finally stopped laughing. He cleared his throat. "Ahem. So you like the fast food restaurant girl?"

Everyone was silent. "The fast food restaurant girl"? What does that even mean?

Xu Ran, who wasn't there yesterday, was confused. Who were they talking about? Fast food restaurant girl? Who?

"Mho arwe youw gwuys twalking abwout?" (Who are you guys talking about?") He asked incoherently as his mouth was full.

"You know the girl wearing a white sleeve?" Xu Baiwei replied.

Xu Ran then scanned the cafeteria, and in just a second, he saw who they were talking about. The reason he saw her immediately was because there was no one else wearing plain white sleeves since everyone in the cafeteria was either wearing a school uniform or a PE uniform.

Xu Ran almost choked on his food when he realized who that was.

"Brother Zhi, do you like Mo Yunru?"

"Who?" Lin Zhiyuan asked.

"That girl who's wearing a plain white sleeve. She's our transfer student."

"Oh." So that's why it's his first time seeing her in the school, she's a transfer student.

Mo Yunru.

He kept saying her name again and again in his head.

What a pretty name.

"So, do you like her brother Zhi?" Xu Ran asked again.

This time, Lin Zhiyuan didn't answer.

The bell rang after a few minutes of bickering, and everyone began making their way to their designated classrooms. Fu Yichen continued to laugh as he watched the scene unfold, clearly not caring about the impending class. Lin took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves, but was unable to get his heart to slow down. He knew that he had to get to his classroom, but he was unable to pull his gaze away from the girl who had caught his feelings.

After making his way to the third floor, Lin Zhiyuan could feel his heart race faster and faster with each step closer to Mo Yunru's classroom. He unconsciously began to search for her, and then, when he finally saw her sitting in the last row beside the window, he felt a sudden rush of emotions overwhelm his body. His body felt filled with an unfamiliar mix of excitement and nervous energy. Well, he wasn't really unfamiliar with the excitement part, but he was confused about why he was feeling excited for some reason—it wasn't like he was holding a basketball ball or playing on a court against other teams. But for some reason, he didn't dislike that he was excited just seeing her; it was the total opposite; he liked it.

...

After a long afternoon of sitting in his chair and listening to his teacher's lecture, class was finally over. And as he was about to head towards the practice,.

When Lin Zhiyuan saw Mo Yunru in the hallway, he wanted to talk to her, but the thought of possibly coming across as a creep stopped him in his tracks. Instead, he decided to simply look at her from behind and try to get her attention that way. He tried to catch her attention, but despite his efforts, she didn't seem to notice or acknowledge him. He was starting to wonder if he should approach her directly and start a conversation, even if it meant risking coming across as a creep.

I was supposed to write Lin Zhiyuan as someone who's confident while approaching Mo Yunru but then I wanted to try something like this.
