4 Kill Order

Huh? What is with their faces? Am I that ugly?

And why am I not dead?

"I see, so you can negate damage, nya.."

Negate damage? Isn't that op? Then that means I have nothing to be afraid of!

The soldiers snapped out of their daze and each pulled out a club.

"If we can't do damage using spells, then we'll just use our weapons. Men, charge!" The soldier at the front said.

"They can't hurt me," I thought.

But instead of attacking me, they aimed for the plump cat behind me.

"Seriously? You guys were aiming for my cat instead of me?"

Dashing to a soldier that was about to swing its club to said cat, I threw a punch.

The soldier I threw a punch at, namely the one that was giving commands, threw his head back and pivoted on his left foot, spinning around to my back. He dodged it without effort.

Before I could react, I was clubbed right on my skull.

I woke up to see the cloudless bright red sky.

Quickly snapping out of my dazed state, I looked around to see where I was. It was the same place as before. I then realized something.

"Crap, where's the cat?"

"I am right here, nya."

Voice sounding behind me, I turned around and saw the same old cute cat.

Phew, so he's safe. But how?

"Where are the soldiers?" I said.

"Because you were unconscious, I had to take care of them by my self, nya."

"Wait, really? Are you injured?" I asked my cat.

"This great familiar can't get injured by such trivial things, nya."

Wow, so my pet can easily take care of the soldiers I got one hit KO'ed by?

"Before I got knocked out, didn't you say that I could negate damage?" I asked.

"Maybe when you close your eyes you can negate damage, nya."

"Hmm. Ok, attack me."

Closing my eyes, I waited for my pet to attack.

"Here I go, nya."

The cat leaped and brandished its claw towards my arm. I felt a slight pressure of incoming pain towards my arm. But the pressure disappeared when it hit.

Opening my eyes, my arms were completely the same. So that's why I am not dead right now. When I was unconscious, my eyes were closed and I negated all damage. The risk I took turned to be correct.

"Won't closing my eyes make me blind? How will I attack my enemy? Although this ability makes me mostly invulnerable, won't I just die soon enough if I can't attack my enemy?" I said.

"Don't be stupid, contracting with more creatures can give you more abilities, albeit randomly, nya. You could get an offensive ability, nya."

"So if I have more pets, I can more abilities like an instakill?"

"If it was that easy, wouldn't everyone with a familiar be ruling the world, nya? The chances of getting an ability is rare, even more rare for something like negating damage, nya. You may even get a weak low tier skill like fireball, nya. The one you got is supposed to be top tier skill, nya."

"Man, that's a lot of "nya's".. So the one I have right now is "top tier"? What are tiers?"

"Tiers are rankings for abilities, nya. It goes from low tier, middle tier, high tier, and top tier, nya."

So, I was lucky. Staring into the sky, I noticed that the bright red sky was turning black.

If I return back to the camp now, I will definitely be killed. I'll just leave it then.

Luckily, there is a nearby city by this destroyed village. There's a jungle between the destroyed village and it, so it will be nice if there is food there. I guess I'll go.

Hiroshi didn't know that the soldier that had knocked him out escaped from his pet.

The door flew wide open and a soldier heavily injured with claw marks wobbled in.

"Commander Adramelech! The pet we were supposed to receive has failed to been captured!" The soldier said with a bitter expression.

"WHAT! I DIDN'T TRAIN YOU ALL TO BE SO WEAK!" The commander yelled.

The yell echoed throughout the entire castle, instilling fear into everyone that heard it.

"C-commander it seems like a person has contracted with the pet.." The soldier said while stuttering.

"Tch, weaklings. Set out a kill order for the pet and the person. Make it say that an evil demon has stolen a black pet with an orange tail from the kingdom of Malice. Put a bounty of 10,000 gold for both each." Commander Adramelech ordered.

"U-understood commander."

The soldier quickly scurried out of the room.

"Let's see who dares play with the kingdom..." The commander mumbled.

A week has passed since he got his cat. He wanted to name it someday, but couldn't settle on a name.

Hiroshi's inference was right. There was food in the jungle. His cat easily killed animals and left him to cook them.

Sitting on a log, he was roasting a funny looking brown chicken like creature with a stick. It smelled great.

All those Yo*tube videos on survival help a lot now, he thought.

"This should be our last meal until we reach the city," said Hiroshi to his cat, finishing the roast and handing his cat a piece of chicken.

His cat replied with a subtle "nya" while chewing on the piece of chicken Hiroshi handed him.

This cat really eats a lot. No wonder he is so plump. It's not like I hate it though.. Hiroshi thought. It was satisfying to pet his cat mainly because of that reason.

Finishing up his food, he waited for his cat to eat the leftovers. After it was done, he resumed the trip to the city.

It was really like a jungle. There were lots of creatures that would be a new species if shown on Earth.

Trudging through the jungle, one could see many bugs. It ranged from weird looking butterfly's with HUGE wings, caterpillars with spikes on their backs, and more.

A few hours later, they finally exited the jungle. The city was just a few hundred feet away. It had a large wall encircling all around it. In the front, there was a gate with guards standing by.

They walked up to the gate. But before they could get in the sight of the guards, a hand clasped Hiroshi's mouth and pulled him behind a rock.

"Psst. Be quiet." A unfamiliar and high pitched voice said.

In the sense of danger, I have learned to close my eyes. So, in the perspective of this person, I was sleeping or unconscious.

"Hey, you okay?" the voice said as the person shook me.

Opening my eyes, I saw a girl.

She had a cute face, blonde twin pigtails, and green eyes.

Letting go of me, I looked at her once more.

She looked like a thief, daggers on her waist and leather armor on her chest. She was also really short. If I were to describe it, she looked like a loli. My pet cat was also standing right by her, rubbing his head on her leg.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"My name is Hitomi," she said.

"What do you want?" I questioned.

"Do you not know that you currently have a bounty and kill order on your head?" She said.

Bounty? Kill order? Wait, does this mean that this loli is going to kill me?

"Relax, I am not here to kill you. In fact, I saved you. If the guards were to see you and your pet, it would be the end."

So she saved me, huh.

"What do you want?" I asked again.

"If you pay me 10 gold, I'll sneak you into the city," she said.

"10 gold? What's that?" I ask.

When I asked that question, a look of pity surfaced across the girl's face.

"You don't even know what gold is? Forget it, I'll explain it to you.. In Hell, we use currency such as copper, silver, gold, and platinum. Platinum has the most value and copper has the least value."

"So if I pay you 10 gold, you'll sneak me in the city right?" I said.

"Correct." She replied.

"Um, the thing is, I don't have gold.."

"Idiot, I already knew that when you asked about gold.. Don't worry, I'll sneak you in for free since I also have a kill order on my head from the kingdom of Malice." She said.

"Ok, thanks. So how will you sneak us in?" I ask.

She then proceeded to explain the plan to me.

"In order to get into the city, we need to get past the guards. A passageway underground is our ticket to entry. Once we enter the passageway, we can sneak under the walls and arrive at the central area." The loli said.

Nodding my head, the loli then handed me a scarf.

"Use this to cover your face. It won't be pleasant if people find out that a person with a bounty on their head is with me."

Putting on the scarf, the loli led me and my pet to a patch of leaves. Using her hand, she pushed the leaves to the side, revealing a trapdoor. Opening the trapdoor, one could see a ladder. She went into the trapdoor and climbed down the ladder.

Following her actions, I also climbed down the ladder. After a few seconds of climbing down, we arrived at a narrow cave with a door at the end. A plump man was sitting on the door next to it with two people that seemed like guards beside him.

Walking over, the loli gave the plump man what seemed to be five gold coins. The plump man slowly ascended from the chair and pulled out a key, unlocking the door.

"Follow me. This is the underground passage," the loli said.

Following the loli, she led me through the underground passageway. The passageway was wide, unlike the narrow cave we were in just now. At the end of it was another ladder.

We climbed the ladder and opened the hatch at the top. Climbing out, once could see that we were in an alleyway.

"I need you to follow me to my superior's base, so I can get a higher chance of promotion by showing a new customer." The loli said.

It sounded a bit suspicious, but what can a loli do? I followed her to a door hidden in the alleyway and entered.

The room had a nice "new" smell to it. It had a red velvet carpet and tan walls. Hanging on the ceiling of the roof was a chandelier. It seemed like this loli's superior was very rich. On the side of the room, stairs could be found.

"My superior is in the second floor," the loli said.

Nodding, I followed her to the second floor with my cat. Upon entering, a intimidating buff man with red eyes could be seen sitting on a chair with a desk. He had a suit on and looked like some kind of businessman.

"Hitomi, is this the guy?" the man said.

"Yes," the loli replied.

"Great. Capture him." The man said.
