29 Durable shield

He had sacrificed his life to save hers, she didn't know whether to feel grateful or ashamed. While she looked at the corpse that had already been maimed and dismembered, a feeling of grief began to swell inside her as it slowly consumed her.

She couldn't handle the feeling anymore, she couldn't even control it. But that was also the reason she was so anxious about rescuing Boris. Although Boris had done this for the sake of the clan and not just for her, she had only tasted this feeling before, when her father passed away and her mother disappearing without a trace leaving only her and her sister to fend for themselves in the clan.

The pain she had to endure was too much for her to handle, she almost gave up on her life, not knowing where else to turn to. That was when her sister stepped in, lighting the hope she needed, she watched as her sister solved all the problems they encountered with a smile on her face assuring her not to lose hope, that the problems would soon go away, disappearing without a trace.

Even when they were beaten, abandoned, and almost had everything deprived of them, her sister was the only person she looked up to, as the fear and discomfort she felt began to slowly disappear.

Trying to imitate the actions of her sister, she trained day and night, continuously advancing in tiers until her body gave out from exhaustion, she didn't stop as she began to fill her thoughts with the very image of becoming someone like her sister.

Cahira didn't stop, and neither did she ever think of quitting. The underworld was a cruel place and she learned that early on that if one had the strength to crush all obstacles they face, then, only then would they have the right to choose their path.

She filled her ideology with such thought as she began training with the sword, charging headfirst into any obstacle she encountered as she always hoped to achieve victory standing tall against all her foes.

She began thinking that she had gotten rid of that fear, as she began to delude herself with a reality that had only gotten her almost killed several times, as the fear she once felt were no more. But they weren't gone but bottled up deep inside of her as she swore to herself never to show any sign of weakness. Further pushing forward with a sword in her hand as she dealt with any problems she encountered.

Trying to fit the image she had always held unto, Cahira slowly turned into a woman that everyone saw as a strong-willed individual, who always charged recklessly first into battle regardless of any situation.

She had built a haven around herself, a shield that wouldn't break no matter how hard she pushed herself, her safe heaven soon became her prison, where all her fear were contained. As they continuously grew, deteriorating her slowly from the inside.

She hated this feeling, but when the haven she built began to crack, threatening to release all her riled up emotions. She let them gain control of her, letting her emotions get total control over her.

Cahira immediately charged at the armoured scale-tailed beast with her sword in hand, while her emotions boiled with each passing second. She couldn't think of anything, but there was only one thought she could think of, which was striking down her enemy here and now as their blood flowed through her sword.

Meanwhile, old man Bael looked at the situation with a darkened expression grimmer than the last one, as he hadn't expected Boris to die so soon, and Cahira who slowly lost all rationality only served to increase the severity of the situation.

He had to look for an escape plan, although it was too late, all he could do right now was think of a way to stop her from going any further.

Old man Bael was about to give Liam the instruction of heading deep into the forest as bringing back the spirit flame orchid whether they lived or died, was the very least of their problems.

Hundreds of their clan members may have to suffer if their quest was not completed, and old man Bael was in no mood to see that happen.

And it seemed Liam himself had enough of it, as he was currently straight towards him.

''Your body has already been severely injured, it's even a miracle that you are still alive'' Liam said as he examined the old man's body. Although his tone of words didn't sound pleasant, it was clear that Liam intended to help him, aiding him to alleviate some of his injuries.

After treating some of the old man's injuries, Laim headed straight for Cahira who was currently trying to chase after the armoured scale-tailed beast. Although as he didn't like her, he knew the severity of the situation was already more than what they could handle, so his option was to knock her out.

Golden arc!!!

Golden judgement!!!!

The disparity in strength was as clear as day, as the demonic beast wasn't even bothered with the attacks of Cahira. The armoured tailed beast continued making its getaway, pulling on the other half deformed corpse of Boris.

Cahira continuously launched her attacks, each stronger than the last, but she had yet to even put a scratch on the scales of the beast who didn't flinch from the bombardments of her attacks.

Cahira saw the beast was about to make a run for it, immediately activated -Golden radiance - hoping to stun the beast, yet she wasn't fast enough as the demonic beast dashed away disappearing from her plain of sight. But Cahira who had lost all sense of rationality immediately chased after the demonic beast.

''You fool!!!"

"Where do you think you are going?"

Liam yelled behind Cahira as he chased after her, tackling her to the ground. Liam was a tier above Cahira, and considering every advancement in tiers increases and doubles the strength of a normal devil, he obviously didn't have to use any mana to subdue her.
