Crimson ape ambush

Looking straight into each other's eyes, both Erostas and Haris nodded their heads, as they left to complete their separate duties.

…....…

Stepping back, he moved his body narrowly avoiding the hairy like hands that were stretched out, lunging his sword forward, he maintained the same momentum as he plunged into the skull as its brain matters scattered on the ground.

Sprinting as he got closer to an ape-like beast, whose body was crimson red possessing two long protruding fangs. The ape-like beast not knowing what had happened next, halted as it could only see the world spinning with its ruby-red eyes as it caught a humanoid figure moving to incapacitate another of its brethren.

"Bang"

Liam was suddenly thrown to the ground, as his back collided with the grassy plains, as the momentum was strong enough to send him several meters away until he managed to stabilize himself.

"hu…ff, huff"

Smirking as he cleaned the traces of blood away from his lips, Liam grasped his sword tightly as he faced another monstrosity birthed from the 'Deadly volcanic region'.

"hehehehehe" He chuckled.

"I thought you were going to keep on waiting for a turn, after all, we didn't bring much to entertain all of you at once" Liam said with some difficulty, of course, the bodies of an ascendant were strong, but that was only because they was always true if thy went against an opponent equal or weaker in ranks.

But it wasn't only that, as they protected their body with a thick layer of their aura protecting their bodies.

It was something any ascendant could do with ease, and the aura only grew thicker with each advancement an ascendant progresses in ranks.

But, even though the aura surrounding Liam was thick, he was still a 7th tier lesser devil ascendant., as that wasn't enough to protect him from the full force of an 8th tier primitive demonic beast blood.

"Get back!!!" The old man screamed, as he suddenly appeared in front of Liam. His war axe colliding with the fist only resulted in him being pushed back slightly.

"Go and aid Pergan to block the other crimson apes from getting through"

"Don't worry about the spirit flamed orchid, at least that little girl would do something important for once". Old man Bael had already heard of what had transpired after he was knocked out, and it would be a lie if he wasn't furious that Cahira had attempted to do something like that.

Well, thank Hades nothing bad of sort happened. And he had also managed to recover, although not fully as he could still feel some of his shattered ribs and the constant pain spamming throughout his body.

Well compared to the 8th tier primitive crimson ape demonic beast in front of him, old man Bael was groaning in pain as a broken spear could be seen sticking out of the crimson ape body, Old man Bael could see no reason to let this battle continue for any longer.

Swinging down his axe, old man Bael delivered a faint as the arms of the crimson ape lunged forward, missing its target as its fist connected to the ground. A fast-approaching attack came from its other arm as it went with a terrifying pressure, bringing with it a blow that was targeted at old man Bael's skull.

But alias, the crimson ape's fatal mistake was its delay in its attack, causing it fist which was coming forth to miss, as the sword sliced through the sturdy ar,s arms of the crimson ape.

ROOOOARRR!!!!!

Screaming in pain as the poisoned spear that stocked in its body only managed to increase its pain receptor by several folds. Letting out a powerful battle scream, the crimson ape knew it was already at its limit and would collapse very soon, so it charged headfirst, sending a bulldozer punch right at old man Bael, who only managed to get out of harm's way.

Dust quickly filled the air as a small-sized crater only proved how devastating the blow was.

Using the dust as a cover to dash down to a still-standing demonic beast, old man Bael hack his axe through its upper limb, thereby delivering another wave of pain-filled screams.

'An 8th tier primitive demonic beast is no joke. Even a poison as strong as this still takes several minutes to completely cripple its movement' Old man Bael thought.

Wiping the beads of sweat away.

"It's a good thing the plan is currently going perfectly ". As he was About to land the finishing blow, the crimson ape lit up in flames as its furs were ignited as though answering to the rage of the demonic beast.

Knowing that the crimson ape had activated one of its bloodline traits in its dying moment, old man Bael could only prolong the fight, thereby contradicting his previous plans.

But a plan was already made if a variable managed to occur so, facing the crimson ape in its rage like state was absolutely out of question, as he could only dodge and retreat, hoping that the backlash for such a skill would hit back at any moment as the poison was surely showing its effects slowly.

...…..

Cahira knew her time was fast approaching as she snuck behind the covers of the ongoing battle, evading the senses of the demonic beasts that protected the spirit Flamed orchid, of course, she wouldn't have gotten this close without being detected by the 8th primitive crimson ape, but it was currently by the side of old man Bael who was currently his opponent.

Letting go of her hands that quietly dug in the earth, Cahira sprawled up as she raced to grab the main object that caused this quest in the first place.

Steadily plucking it out, she made sure to be careful as she placed it into an oval-shaped jar, a vessel that could easily store treasured plants from, thereby keeping it safe for a particular amount of time.
