1 Destiny

A lone man walks up to a single grave stone. He stops, and sits down next to it.

"Brother, many a thing has changed since I last visited you. The human has advanced so far, but I fear that this place too will die. Do you miss the old market place in Ridal like I do? No, knowing you dear brother the red light district is what you truly miss!" laugh's the man. Then the man sighs, and stands up. All of them are dead now, even Anngal. Is this what was supposed to happen after I achieved my pinnacle? Do you remember what the crystal showed that day brother, let me remind you.

A time long forgotten in a world like our own there once was a knight. No one knew him by his true name. Only by the color of his armor was he identified. Soon after he appeared, he sent forth messengers to each king of each race requesting that they all gather under one king. After this he then requested a meeting of the kings of the races to come to the cave of the ancients so that they may be away from prying eyes. His explanation was that he wished to negotiate a treaty with them all. One requirement was placed on entry to the grounds, only the eldest and wisest wizard must accompany the king. Many thought him mad, so they disregarded him. But those who listened to both their hearts, minds, and council of their elders that had been made kings, came to the cave. They brought enough men only to serve as an honor guard, but no more. Several kings encountered one another along the way and decided to travel together to their shared destination. As the kings arrived, they were greeted by servants who claimed to be under the knight who served their Ria. Any questions where directed to be saved for when all the races where accounted for. Yet, after a week of no newcomers some of the wiser kings realized no more kings would come to the meeting. They brought their concerns to the servants who swore to take the news to their Ria. During this time no one except the servants went into the cave. Yet food was brought for all, and all were satisfied. Although no meat was served.

After the second day the kings that where not there before, rushed into the clearing before the cave. Somewhere more ragged than others, all quite thin. Before the kings that where in the clearing could ask what had happened, they were summoned to the cave, and given this warning, "Only thy kings and their counsel may enter, any other will not be protected from the guardians of this cave." The kings and the wizards entered, the men where fed.

The next day the ones who had gone in came out, some obviously aged as if for an hour a day was placed upon them others not. Each king carrying a scroll, and some the wizards had lost years off their ages. Some who could barely walk stood tall once again, and others had become crippled, and where forced to use magic to carry themselves out of the cave. None spoke of what happened, except one, the king of the Nords Adriham looked up and plainly stated, "Ria, it means King of all. We are but ants at a god's door, let us not trespass here any longer. I wish you all safe passage, for I am going home this very hour." And all the other kings resonated, "Agreed." And thus, the treaty of the ancients has brought about, and thus it stands to this day.
