1 PROLOGUE

"Hedone!" Eros for his daughter.

"Don't worry. She will eventually come home" his wife psyche placed a hand on his shoulder in comfort.

She had a history to run away with the humans for as long as months.

They have been looking around Olympus all afternoon trying to find their mischievous daughter.

"Let's just hope she does anyway" Psyche mumbled.

A small 13 year old sits on the slide ladder siping the $2 can of monster energy drink (when she saw how cheap it was she had to get it)  with the burning cigarette she stole from her mums bag.

Her cheap MP3 player playing 'take on me'.

A way of describing Carson Anthony is she is that one girl who acts tough and edgy but will break down as soon as you even glare at her.

Somewhat like a 12 year old wanna be eshay at the train station.

She finishes the can throwing it on the ground and jumping off the small ladder then stomping on the can before putting in the bin next to the park entrance.

She pulled out one ear phone so when she needs to cross the streets she wouldn't be used as a speed bump.

She went to leave but the entrance was blocked by 2 girls she has seen around school but never talked to but she did know they are in her year.

"Why were you with Miles today?" The taller girl asked Carson.

"Look I don't want any drama. So leave me out of it? Thanks" She tries to leave the situation as she knew it not gonna end well.

'I fuckin swear if I get dragged into some petty year 7 drama that is complete bullshit one more time' she thought having enough of people her age.

Rage filled both of the girls as one dragged her back and the other held her shoulder.

"You listen to me you little sl-" scared something was gonna happen to her she presses the what's left of the burning cigarette and kicked the other girl in the shin before bolting out of the empty park.

"I'm gonna fuckin kill you Anthony!" The taller girl rages running after them.

Carson trips into the crack in the concrete path scraping her hands and knees but quickly stood up not feeling the pain due to the adrenaline rush she is feeling and runs faster.

They were gaining on her so when she turns the corner she immediately ran into the closest store on the Main Street.

She slams the glass door before running to the back isles so they don't spot her. Making the cashier glare at her and she awkwardly waved at him.

Hedone was stacking the shelves in the next isle. The young goddess was wondering what her boss was glaring at.

She looked between the gaps of the shelf she was stacking the cans of dog food on.

She shamelessly looked at the younger mortal in front of her.

She was mentally begging for her honey brown eyes to meet her steel grey ones. To look at her with such love. How she wondered what it would be like to run her hands through her soft brown hair.

Hedone wanted to make an excuse to talk to her. Her eyes landed on her scraped knees before looking at the clock.

'It's nearly my break. I could use that to fix her up'

"Hey dale I'm gonna go on my break" she walked into the same isle and "accidentally" bumped into Carson.

"Ok. If you need food take one packet of chips from the dollar stack Jess" the cashier replied then attended to a customer in front of the desk.

"I'm sorry. You ok?" Hedone asked. Her unknown accent strong. No one knew what it was and when people asked she would just ignore them.

"I'm fine" Carson try's to leave thinking it's safe to leave her hiding spot.

"Those knees look bad. Need help patching them up?" The younger girl thought for awhile.

'Please don't say no. Please don't say no.Please don't say no.' Hedone internally begged.

"Yea fine" She finally agreed. Hedone happily took the younger girls hand happy to get to know her and sneaked her to the back room without her boss noticing.

The demi god didn't know why she felt giddy when it comes to this girl she only laid eyes on 3 minutes ago but she liked it.

The white haired teen went to yet another shelf and pulled a rusting white painted box with a green plus sign print on it.

"How do you do this again" the older mumbled to her self going through the contents of the small metal box.

"Here let me-" Carson tried to stand up from the table she was placed onto by the taller teen.

"Nope. I got it" Hedone gently pushed down the younger girl wanting to care for her without assistance.

She pulled out what she thought would help fix the mortal girl in front of her.

Which consists of rubbing alcohol, alot of rubbing alcohol and a few band aids.

Hedone poured the alcohol on the cotton ball making it go everywhere.

"Shit" she grabbed the slightly greasy towel next to Carson who was watching in amusement and quickly wiped it up from the floor.

Still kneeling on the floor she dabs the cotton ball onto the younger girls left knee the sudden stinging made her shift a bit.

When she put the bandaids on Hedone places a kiss on each of them saying "it will help the healing process" Carson didn't know why she blushed when this girl did that. She decided to blame it on the lack of air conditioning.

"Jessie! You got 5 minutes!" Dale yelled.

"Sorry for using up your break" Carson apologises jumping off the table.

"It's fine I don't like eating here anyway" she leaned in close to whisper in Carson's ear so her boss doesn't hear her making her blush even more then she was before. "This place is a health hazard anyway" she pulled away with a smile. "What song you listening to anyway?" Hedone pointed to the MP3 that Carson didn't realise was still playing because the volume was so low.

"Uhh" she took a second to turn it up to make out the words. "Crust bucket by the frights"

"Oh cool I never heard of it" she took the other earbud from her and put it in her ear. "It's actually pretty good"

"Jessie!" Both girls jumped when Dale poked his head through the door. "Why is she here? Sorry miss your not allowed back here" he started to gently push her out not to rough to be sued. He turned back to Hedone. "And you are working cashier now go" he pointed to the front.
