Instant Kill (Rewrite)

[: 3rd POV :]

"You asked for it, human!"

The Transcendent Beast was enraged, and all of a sudden, its body was engulfed in shadowy purplish flames.

In an instant, the beast roared, and simultaneously, it manifested dozens of fireballs aimed towards Daniel.

This time, he wasn't planning on facing its attack head-on.

With a subtle movement of his fingers, Daniel employed his sword intent, immediately slicing through the manifested balls of flames.

However, the number of times it was cut was too numerous to count within a second.

After the fireballs disappeared, the onlookers, including the beast, were stupefied by the scene.

"S-Sword I-Intent!?" Zuke exclaimed, both in fear and shock.

'That's undoubtedly sword intent, and I have encountered a similar force before!' Zuke thought.

He recalled a certain memory where he had witnessed a cultivator killing his enemies without moving his body.

It was a silent kill that utilized nothing but his intent.

He would never forget that scene and the sensation of witnessing such intent.

Yet, now, he had once again observed the force of sword intent.

"How can this be!? How can a mortal like you possess sword intent!?" The beast exclaimed.

It knows one or two things about sword intent, and one of the factors is that only one in a thousand, or even a hundred thousand, could comprehend sword intent.

Moreover, it is based on luck as well as talent.

"Why can I not have sword intent?" Daniel questioned with a smirk.

"Enough of this. It's time to end this."

Daniel felt he had played with the beast for far too long, and his goal was with Elizabeth.

"W-What—"

Before the beast could even finish its sentence, Daniel pointed his finger towards it, and moments later, its head was separated from its body.

However, this wasn't over as the Flame Lions that had occupied the route had finally started to take notice.

Upon sensing that the beast who had ruled them with force was dead, they were delighted.

However, as soon as they met Daniel's gaze, they were terrified as they could feel his killing intent that had overwhelmed their instincts.

Hence, the King and Queen of the Flame Lions decided to retreat back to their habitat.

"Now that the route is clear, shouldn't we resume our travel?"

Daniel turned his body around and questioned.

Zuke, who was focusing on the situation too much, had regained his composure.

"T-That's right, Young Master!"

Now that he had seen what Daniel was capable of, Zuke had no idea how to address him aside from calling him 'young master.'

Daniel was young, perhaps at his daughter's age or older.

Even if he was an old master, it would be much more suitable to call him 'young master' due to his youthful appearance.

"Quickly bring the young master back to the carriage and prepare any teas or food if we have some."

Zuke quickly ordered his guards, and now that he was aware of Daniel's strength, he dared not treat him unfittingly.

"On it, Patriarch!"

All of the guards followed his order and quickly moved on it.

It was a comical sight for Daniel as the guards began treating him like a privileged young master.

'I don't blame them for behaving this way,' he thought.

After all, people's behaviors around each other tend to change depending on their identity.

In this instance, Daniel's image had changed, and they all believed that he was a powerful cultivator.

Once Daniel had entered the carriage back, Zuke ordered them to resume their travel.

As they traveled, Zuke called out to his daughter.

"Eliza..."

"Father, are you alright? Did anything happen to you? Are all the guards fine?"

Elizabeth had questions, and she was filled with both inquiries and fear.

"As you can see, I'm fine, and it's thanks to the young master that we're all fine," Zuke explained.

"I'm glad..."

Elizabeth's eyes had formed tears, showing gratitude.

She could never imagine what would happen if her father died.

Her mother had left the world a long time ago, and the only family member she had was her father.

However, if her father was gone as well, she would be consumed by despair.

"Me too...I'm glad that you're fine."

Zuke hugged his daughter as he sighed in relief.

If he were honest, he had no chance of winning.

Even if the guards combined their might, there was no chance of them getting out alive.

But now, he never imagined that luck would save him.

He never expected that the young man he had underestimated turned out to be a Master.

Moreover, he wasn't just an ordinary master but someone who had comprehended Sword Intent.

With that alone, he could walk everywhere with his head held high.

"Once again, young master, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us in this unforeseen encounter."

Zuke bowed his head, feeling like it wasn't enough.

"If you hadn't appeared or taken action, we would have had no chance against them," Zuke pointed out.

"For saving us, please request anything that you want within our strength," Zuke said.

"It's fine, and there's no need to reward me. After all, we have the same goal of reaching the City of Cetra," Daniel said.

At this point, Zuke's impression of Daniel increased, as he never thought he would be humble about his own actions.

He had seen many cultivators, and Daniel was one of those who were humble with his own power.

Otherwise, he would be requesting a form of repayment that would be impossible for him to fulfill.

"Then...at least, once we have reached the city, allow me to invite you to our household, and I'm confident that the young master won't be disappointed with our treatment," Zuke implied.

"Then, don't mind me."

Since Zuke wanted to treat him, Daniel had no reason to reject.

"Are...you a Cultivator?"

As they travelled through the forest, Elizabeth was curious about Daniel couldn't help but question.

"That's right. I'm a cultivator" Daniel answered.

"Then, how high is your realm?" She questioned innocently.
