1 Xiang Ye - Chapter One

I was enshrouded in a tree cove, hidden from anything and everything. My eyes slowly opened, taking in my surroundings. I began to think, sitting up and wondering where I was. Previously, I was helping a lady carry her groceries out of a Wal-Mart. Now, I am in a forest? What logic does this make!?

**DING!**

[You have awakened the - IMMORTAL PHILOSOPHY System!]

[By thinking about your surroundings, you have gained 1 Mystic Power!]

[By gaining 1 Mystic Power, you have gained 'Stats!']

[By gaining 'Stats!' you have gained the ability to learn Laws!]

I stared dumbfoundedly at the popups. I was slightly confused, my eyes twitching. I had a System? Like in those novels? How had this happened? I completely disregarded this, continuing to wonder where I am. This dumb system was probably a hallucination based off dehydration or something like-

**DING!**

[Host is currently in the world of Lingyu, a planet 5 times the size of earth. The forest Host is currently in is called Da Yezi.]

Well, I sighed, I guess it is real. Wait. "I'm on... another planet? Like with Aliens?" this thought scared me more than the fact I'm in a forest called 'Big Leaf.' Which, to be fair, sounded quite funny in any case. I gave up on ignoring the system, deciding to check out my so-called 'Stats.'

"Stats?" I said this hesitantly, in case it didn't work. In any case, it was not any different if it did not work. That was to be expected, after all, he had just apparently transferred into a new planet. He didn't wait long for the ding he was getting accustomed to.

**DING!**

[Xiang Ye's Stats]

[Mystic Power: 1 Law MAX]

[Physical Power: 2.3 **Average]

[Laws: none]

I wasn't too shocked at this, after all, I hadn't been active physically and I had already been notified about getting a singular mystic power. My guess would be every Mystic Power would give me a single Law that I could learn. I hesitantly began speaking again, not too sure if this would work or I would be embarrassed in front of... well, nobody.

"System... How do I gain a Law? Are there ranks of power here?"

I felt embarrassed slightly, my face heating up every second the system didn't answer. However, I sighed after finally hearing the ding, and my embarrassment fading quickly.

**DING**

[To gain a Law, start thinking about what makes up the Law you are thinking about.]

[There are ranks of Power. Specialist, Lord, King, Cardinal, Emperor, Demigod, Minor God, God, High God, and Imperial God.]

I was slightly put off by how easy it seemed to gain Laws, however, it didn't matter at this point. Right now, he just needed to get stronger so he could live safely in the forest he's currently in. He began thinking about what would be the strongest 'Law' he could think of. Gravity? No, that would leave too many variables. Black Holes? Wait, that's just condensed gravity.

I thought for a while, noticing it getting later and later but not caring. I needed to do this soon. I thought about the Ruins from my previous world. Stonehenge, Babylon, the Parthenon, Colosseums, everything like that. I began to wonder about the meanings, the purposes. A loud explosion occurred in my mind, exploding a gate I hadn't even noticed. A ding, faint compared to the explosion, blocked my train of thought.

**DING!**

[You have begun to understand the Law: Ancient]

[The difficulty level of this Law is unknown, therefore can be comprehended.]

[Your understanding of the Law: Ancient is at 15%, you will gain one ability accordingly.]

[Ancient Law: Primordial Runes]

[Runed Earthen Pillars imbued with Mystic will come from the ground and smash upwards, dealing elemental damage randomly. 50 Mystic Cost.]

[Due to gaining an ability, host has gained: Mystic Power stat.]

I looked at the pile of notifications, slightly worried that eventually there would be even more than that coming at once during a fight. That would not be good, considering the fact he just appeared. However, it would be worth it to check his stats to see his current Mystic Power and find out if he could use Primordial Runes.

"Stats!"

**DING!**

[Xiang Ye's Stats]

[Rank: Specialist]

[Mystic Power: 1 Law MAX]

[Physical Power: 2.3 **Average]

[Mystic Power: 100]

[Laws: Ancient(15%)]

I was slightly surprised at the amount of Mystic Power I had, expecting only enough to use Primordial Runes once. However, a small grin started forming on my face as I stood up, and climbed out of the small crater I had been in.

I walked probably 50 meters away, guessing it would be far away enough that I would not have my area messed up. I stopped moving, and a confused expression appeared on my face. "System, how do I use my Law?"

**DING!**

[To use the Law, please speak the Ability Name you wish to control either aloud or in your mind.]

Huh, I mused, seems simple enough. However, another problem. Do I want to look cool while doing it? Should I do the summoning pose from naruto where they slam their hand on the ground and shout? That... that would look rather cool, I think.

I slammed my hand into the ground, my feet separating as I shouted as loudly as possible. "Primordial Runes!" A large tower, probably 10 meters in diameter, rushed from the ground with blazing, massive red runes on its side as a cylinder of fire encased it. Seeing this happen only 15 or 16 meters in front of me gave me a heart attack as I jumped backward. The fire slowly burnt out, leaving the earthen pillar with engraved runes left behind.

I slightly wondered if it would ever disappear or not, but considering it only takes 50 Mystic Power and does that much damage to the surroundings, I decided not to question it. If it was still there tomorrow, I would be surprised. I yawned, seeing the sun come up. The excitement of the attack faded, and I was left sleepy. I walked back the 50 meters, my legs hurting after I had arrived, and dropped to the ground like a sack of potatoes. "I, Xiang Ye, will conquer my Laws and become a god that no one will defy..." I slowly muttered, feeling too tired to speak more.

I woke up with a start, my mind racing trying to figure out where I was. I slowly remembered yesterday, but it was a haze, seeming like I had been drunk. I got up, and slowly stretched as I yawned loudly. I rubbed my eyes and jumped as I hear a roar probably 100 kilometers away.

I was excited, I could finally fight something! It was very unlikely I would lose considering the amount of... firepower the attack I had gotten yesterday was. However, it said the element chosen was random. I wonder if I could control which element it would pick by thinking about it?

**DING!**

[Host has Unlocked Elemental Re-Attribution!]

[Host can now lock Elements in for Attacks that are random.]

[Would host like to Re-Attribute 'Primordial Runes?']

I was shocked, to say the least. I could end up changing attacks like this? I hastily clicked it, a screen coming up with 5 elements. Fire, Water, Earth, and Air I could understand. However, why was another one here? Time Attribute? Why was it blocked out? Whatever, for now, I could not use it. I locked in Fire, as that would probably do the most damage. I got up and made a mad dash for where the roar had been a couple seconds ago.
