10 The Hidden Enemy

The man in front of her had a face covered in green scales. His red eyes were shining like a red-gem while there were no hairs on his head.

Rebecca looked at his face, which was dripping with his saliva before shouting, "You! You were the one who killed everyone!"

The person in front of her didn't reply. Instead, he sprinted towards her frantically.

'Shoosh!'

Eventually, a green gas started to come out from both hands of the man. Rebecca observed the gas before saying in surprise and confusion, "Poison element?"

Without dwelling, Rebecca dodged the attack.

'Crackle~.'

Just when she dodged the attack, the poison ball landed at the place where she was standing and started to form small green bubbles before calming down.

Rebecca looked in shock at the place where the attack landed and murmured, "What a powerful poison, he must have at least black rank rune of poison element."

Ayaan, who was standing behind her, maintained his distance even more. 'What would happen if that attack were to land on my cute-fluffy body?' A shiver ran throughout his whole body when he thought about such a possibility and turned to look at the ongoing battle.

Rebecca didn't dare to underestimate her opponent anymore and looked at him with full of vigilance.

'Grrr~grrr~.'

He produced weird sounds before lunging at her. His body had covered in corrosive poison. If he were to touch her, she would be heavily injured. After that, it will be even harder to defeat this man.

After fighting for some time, she realised that her opponent doesn't seem to be clear-headed. He attacked randomly at the place without realising his target wasn't even standing there.

"Is he being controlled by someone?" She looked at the man whose eyes were glittering like red gems. She looked around but wasn't able to find any clue about another person.

Again turning towards the man, the man in front of her was none other than the bandits' leader. Before leaving the city, she asked about his information from Darren. But why would he kill his people and the source of his dominance? Subsequently, looking at his condition, anyone can tell that he doesn't even know what he is doing.

Nevertheless, Rebecca didn't linger on that issue and started to chant a spell. In just a few seconds, a long sword of water appeared in her hands.

Eventually, she attacked the man without any delay. The man formed a shield made of poison around with, but it went inside like a knife in the bread when the swords touched the poison's protection.

'Boom!'

The sword landed on his head before splitting it into two halves. The blood scattered around while his white and grey brain matter flew towards Rebecca. She blocked it with a water shield and looked at her opponent's headless body before sighing in relief, but something happened before she could bring down herself.

"Hahaha!"

A burst of creepy laughter echoed from the headless body of the bandit leader. Both the lady and her little dog turned towards the corpse in shock, before taking some steps back. The black fog started to form above the body and took the shape of the blackhead.

"Hahaha!"

The evil laughter echoed, and the temperature around them became chili. Before long, the red eyes appeared on the blackhead, followed by a mouth full of sharp black teeth. Rebecca felt like all her secrets were seen through, and nothing could hide from them, but when those eyes turned towards Ayaan, they showed a surprised expression and murmured, "What a peculiar dog, even I can't see through it."

'Shoosh~.'

The head looked at Ayaan before launching towards him.

Rebecca caught off guard and wasn't able to react in time. In just a blink, it appeared in front of Ayaan before shouting, "Give me your body and soul!!"

When Ayaan saw that this blackhead was targeting him, he cursed his damn luck before turning to run away. But before he could start running, the head slowly turned into black fog and started to enter his body.

Ayaan immediately lost his consciousness while his whole body was covered in a black fog.

"Stay away from him, you devil!!" She shouted after realising what had happened. Subsequently, she sprinted towards Ayaan, but before she could reach him, a black barrier appeared in front of him.

'Thud~.'

Because of the sudden turn of an event, She couldn't control herself in time, and her body smashed into the barrier. However, she chanted a spell without wasting any time, and a water-sword appeared in her hands. With a sword in her hand, she attacked the barrier.

'Boom!'

Her attack landed on the barrier, but the barrier didn't even budge, much less shatter. She looked at the wall in frustration and again attacked but to no avail.

As she was trying to break the barrier, something unusual was unfolding in Ayaan's body. After entering his body, the blackhead didn't stay idle but immediately reached inside his consciousness(Soul).

The soul was glittering like a sun that can vanish all the darkness from this world. As he looked at Ayaan's soul, a shocked expression appeared on the blackhead before saying, "What a powerful soul, after devouring it, I will evolve."

Greed flashed in his red eyes, and the head started to enlarge. In just a blink, it was a massive head with blood-red eyes. The blackhead opened his mouth full of sharp black-teeth. An invisible force of devouring formed in his mouth and Ayaan's soul slowly started to move towards his mouth.

When he thought everything was going according to his plane, something unexpected happened.

"Roaar!"

A roar echoed in the whole soul, and an overbearing pressure arrived with it.

The blackhead turned his shivering eyes towards the roar; what he saw made him tremble in fear.

A large body of an unknown creature was standing not far away from him. It walked towards the blackhead and revealed itself. The beast's body was full of white fur, but muscles still can be seen on its body. Two big red eyes were looking down at this evil creature that invaded his territory. The collection of this creature was the same as Ayaan's, but bigger and much more muscular, opposite to his fluffy body.

The beast walked towards the head with uniform steps and stood in front of him with an imperious look. The head tried to struggle, but an invisible force completely blocked him.

It looked towards the head with a disdainful expression and spoke in a human language, "You dare to attack my successor's soul, what gall!"

A booming voice escaped from the mouth of the beast. The small head couldn't take the pressure, and cracks started to form on his body.

"You are so weak, but you dare to harm my successor!" He again spoke, and this time the whole head was vaporised into nothing. Everything fell into stillness, and the beast again disappeared without any trace.

Faraway at the unknown place, the man was standing with a proud look. His expression was like looking down on the masses with disdain. He had red eyes with red-blood hair.

Just when he was about to walk away, his head slowly started to hurt, but that mild pain instantly became unbearable pain, and he grabbed his head tightly with both hands then screamed in agony.

"Argh!!"

The man's painful voice echoed in the whole castle when servants and maids heard their king's shrieking sound. They shivered from fear. Anyone in the kingdom knew what happens when their king is not in a good mood. Some time ago, he skinned someone alive because that person looked at him directly.

"Who!? Who dared to destroy my clone!?" He shouted with an angry expression while his red eyes became even redder and started to shine with a red light.
