52 Miserable Boy

Ayaan frowned when he heard the shout. He walked towards the stairs and looked at the ground floor.

In front of the counter were standing a few youngsters. They were looking around the age of twenty to twenty-five. At the front of the group was a man standing with an arrogant look. He was tall, handsome, and looking incredibly proud of himself.

Ayaan narrowed his eyes but didn't interfere. He stood at the stairs while watching the show. The boy was just a low-grade junior mage, and his henchmen standing behind him were only novice mages. Too weak for him to act.

"My father is the guard captain in the Royal Palace. There are hundreds of guards under his command. Do you dare to go against me!?" The boy said with a haughty tone.

"I said, no bargaining in this shop. There won't be any concession for anyone, even if the princess herself arrives, the price wouldn't change." Rebecca was sitting on the chair behind the counter, said with a lazy expression.

Previously, this guy came with his henchmen and asked for the potion with a haughty tone. However, when he saw the potion's price, he started to talk about his father and family and how influential they were in the capital.

At this moment, the man looked at Rebecca and said with a dirty smirk, "Previously, I just wanted to take a potion from this shop, but now I will take you as well with me."

As he said, he extended his hand towards Rebecca's wrist. And when Rebecca saw his action, a furious expression appeared on her face. Hitherto, she had ignored his arrogant comments because she didn't want to bother with this clown; but now, he dared to touch her.

Simultaneously, green-coloured flames appeared inside Rebecca's eyes. Thereupon, she flicked her wrist, and a small green coloured fireball produced from it.

The boy was unprepared; he didn't expect this lowly shopkeeper to attack suddenly. The boy tried to dodge the attack but failed miserably. He was too weak.

"Bang!"

The green fireball smashed on the boy's chest, making him scream with agony and remorse. A ghastly burned appeared on his chest. Finally, the boy fell on the ground flatly.

"Thud~."

"Argh! I will kill you whore!" The boy lost his temper and tried to stand up, but a painful cry left from his mouth while his whole body trembled in pain on the ground. Thereupon, he again fell on the floor with his miserable appearance.

His four to five lackeys standing behind him saw his miserable appearance and shivered. That boy was the strongest in the group, and now he was defeated by a single attack. Without looking back at their boss, the group of henchmen sprinted towards the shop's exit.

No one even tried to help the show's main lead, lying on the ground while screaming miserably.

Ayaan looked at them and shook his head. Too young, but too arrogant. These youngsters didn't know the cruelty of the world. They thought Ayaan was just a commoner, whom they could extort easily, but didn't expect their boss would be beaten into such a miserable state.

Just as the group of lackeys left the shop, Ayaan walked out from the first floor. He looked at Rebecca, then asked gently, "How was the business?"

A pleasant smile appeared on her face when she saw Ayaan and replied excitedly, "It was good! Many customers came to our shop today, and I even sold two healing potions!".

Ayaan smiled at her and gently patted her head, "You did a good job."

Rebecca chuckled when she heard his praise, but then her expression darkened. She looked at the man lying on the ground like a dead dog and said, "Everything was going well, but then this bastard appeared, and he even scared a few customers."

Ayaan chuckled when he saw her pouting and turned towards the man lying on the ground, "So, he did something like that? Now, who is going to pay compensation for our losses?

Afterwards, Ayaan walked towards the man and asked him with a smiling face, "Hmm, you dare to cause trouble in my shop and even scared some of my potential customers. So, who is going to give compensation for it?"

The man lying on the ground saw his smirking face and felt as if a demon was staring at him, his whole back became wet from sweat; finally, he mustered some of his courage and stuttered, "You don't know my-my fa-father is a hi-high mage and he is ve-very powerful…"

"Whack!"

Before he could finish his threat, a red mark had printed on his right cheek, some drops of blood also fell from the corner of his lips, making his look even more pitiful.

"How about talking less nonsense and compensate for our losses," Ayaan looked into the boy's eyes and released a bit of pressure from his body. The boy still wanted to struggle, but when he felt the pressure, his body froze. He tried but couldn't move an inch.

Afterwards, the boy looked at Ayaan with wet eyes and said in a begging voice, "Sir, please, let me. I was wrong."

"Heh? Let you go? Won't that make my shop an easy target for those stupid nobles if I release you?" Ayaan looked at the boy and said with an expressionless face.

The boy glanced at Ayaan and knew that he wouldn't be able to escape today without paying compensation. He mustered some courage and asked with a meek voice, "Sir, what you want me to do then?"

Finally, Ayaan again smiled and said with a chuckle, "I like your straightforwardness. Therefore, I will decrease your punishment."

When the boy heard Ayaan talking about decreasing his punishment, he sighed in relief. However, his next words made the boy almost faint on the floor, "Give me that pouch you are hiding inside your clothes. If I am not wrong, there are at least a hundred gold coins inside the pouch."

The boy felt as if heaven and earth had shattered at that time. He thought no one would find the pouch of gold hidden inside his clothes without checking. However, how could it escape from the Ayaan's powerful soul?
