My dress?

"Slut? How dare you?" I spoke angrily. I tried to hit the woman who had just mocked me, but Marcelo wouldn't let me.

"What do you want here? Haven't I already told you that you don't have anything else here?" said Fernando, looking at me with contempt.

"I came to get my things! But what is this bitch doing here?" I asked angrily.

"She was always the woman of my life. While you worked hard we both laughed in your face!" Fernando said, and they both laughed. "There is no longer anything of yours here!" he said brusquely.

"She is entitled to all her personal items, yes," Marcelo got involved.

"And who do you think you are to meddle in our affairs?" Fernando asked, puzzled.

"I'm a friend of Marina's and I'm here to pick up her belongings," Marcelo replied with a frown. He had the physique of an MMA fighter, with a slap he could have easily put Fernando, who was thin and short, on the ground. Fernando must have realized he couldn't take this man on and backed away a little.

"Wait here, I'll bring your stuff," said Fernando insistently.

"No, I'll take it to make sure nothing of mine is left here," I said authoritatively.

"You don't come into MY house," Karen pounced.

"Your home? Let's see who doesn't enter? I'm warning you, let me through so I may get my things if you don't want me to make a fuss and call the police." I hoped the threat would work. I knew how Fernando never liked scandals and the police.

"You can pass, but I'll let you know if you take anything that doesn't belong to you I'll call the police," Fernando said, scowling.

I entered the apartment and saw that our photos were no longer on the walls and there were traces of fire in the fireplace. "Bastards, they burned our photos." We went to the bedroom and my closet was all overturned. Of course, that cow, Karen, had also rummaged through it. I held back on saying anything; what I most wanted was to get out of there as soon as possible.

I took my suitcase from the top shelf and threw the things I used the most into it, but I wasn't going to be able to take it all! And even if I had managed, where was I to put it? I looked at the back of a shelf and saw a makeup bag that I hadn't used in the past, but I remembered that I had saved a small amount of money. "I hope it's still there." I shoved it through the clothes so Fernando wouldn't see it; he knew about the money and that must have been what he was looking for.

While I was getting my things, I looked at Karen, with her arms crossed, leaning against the door and saw that she was wearing one of my dresses, surprised to see her there while I hadn't noticed. That was the last straw...

"What are you doing with my dress? Take it off NOW!!!" I yelled angrily.

"Your dress? This one is mine now!" she spoke mockingly.

That outburst gave me enough time to grab that damn redhead's hair.

"Ouch, Ai Ai! Let go of me! You're crazy!" She yelled as I caught her off guard.

"Crazy? I'll show you crazy! You bitch, jealous as fuck, besides stealing my husband you want my stuff too?"

Marcelo grabbed a hold of me and Fernando held Karen.

"Your husband? He was never yours! Ever wondered why he didn't come to you in bed anymore? Because while you were always working, the two of us were together. We were here, in your bed, making LOVE like you've never experienced," she said, laughing.

I wrestled out of Marcelo's grip and threw my hand in her face, giving her a black eye. Fernando let her go so she could defend herself and tried to hold me back, but I kicked him in the balls. She took advantage of the moment I had to fight him and punched me in the nose. I felt the blood flowing, but on adrenaline I didn't feel pain. I grabbed the bitch by the hair and started punching her. She tried to hit me with no success, so I threw her to the ground and tore the entire dress down the back.

Neighbors heard the screaming and invaded the apartment, taking me off her.

"Let go of me! I want to end this bitch!" I said, foaming with anger.

"Come on Marina, your things are already in the suitcase; she is already on the floor. It's not worth having your first offense be over that piece of shit," Marcelo tried to convince me.

"If you see me on the street, you bitch, don't come near me, because I'm going to drop you off at the hospital," Karen threatened, holding what remained of the dress to herself.

"Grab your stuff and get the hell out of my apartment before I call the police!" said Fernando, throwing my suitcase into the hallway. "Get out of my life, you stupid bitch!"

"You'll pay me back for everything you've done! Mark my words, I'll come back on top, and you'll regret it!" I screamed at the end of the hall.

Once inside the car, I burst into tears.

"How could I have believed that bastard so much? How did I not see they were together? Well, I was always suspicious, but he always denied it," I outburst.

"Calm down Marina, you can't go out of control like that anymore. You're lucky he didn't call the police; you could have been arrested!"

"Sorry Marcelo, I didn't want to do this, but I had to get it out."

"Okay, that bitch got what she deserved. Girl, where did you learn to fight like that?" Marcelo asked, laughing.

"Well, you might not remember, but back in school I was the toughest," I said with a laugh. "There it goes." Laughing made my nose hurt. "That bitch must have broken my nose."

"Let me see if I can put it in place," Marcelo said, reaching out to my nose.

His face was very close to mine. From where he was I could smell his breath. I was tempted, but I couldn't spoil our friendship. I took a deep breath and waited.

"1, 2 and" *clak* "Alright, that should work," he said, moving back away.

"Oh, that really hurts," I complained tearfully.

"Let's go home. You need a good shower to relax, and I need to get ready for college," he said after clearing his throat.

"Okay, thanks for what you did for me today," I say gratefully.

"It was nothing, Marina."

We got home and Marcelo took his shower first, leaving the bathroom tidy and all perfumed.

"Going to college or clubbing?" I said half jokingly, taking notice of how well he had groomed himself.

"I'm going to meet someone on the way today," he said mysteriously.

"Um, good luck then," I said with a hint of jealousy.

"Take advantage of the fact that the house is empty, and try to rest a little. You're pretty downcast," he said worriedly.

"I'll try." I force a smile.

"Every breakup is painful, but you're strong. You're going to get through this." He hugged me tight. "I'm going now. I need to hurry if I'm not going to be late."

"Okay, see you later."
