Prologue: The start of his Doom

"Are you sure you want to do this?", a figureless white shadow asked.

"You know you don't have to do this - to go this route?", the shadow pressed on.

Dante didn't answer and slowly made his way up the white marbled staircase. There was no question on his part on this. He was firm on this decision and he knew the outcome but he also knew there was no way around it. He walked till he reached the top of the staircase until he was up in the clouds. There was a gazebo made of wooden structure and it was enwrapped with flowers of different sorts and varieties. It was a zen and pretty sight. There were tiny animals surrounding the gazebo, all baby animals, innocent fawns gazing the grass, bunnies hopping around, tiny puppies, kitten meowing, etc. As Dante walked over to the gazebo, the puppies wagged its tails in delight spotting someone.

Knowing very well that Dante had already decided to go through this route, the shadow followed suit, its inner light diminishing with every step that Dante took. It followed the strong and handsome frame ahead of it and sighed deeply.

Dante was now inside the gazebo and on the table made of clouds was a book. He touched it and the book revealed its name in a glowing manner, "The Book of Fate". He flipped through the pages and when he found the name "Mia", he gazed at it for a moment and smiled every so slightly. There was a feather quill next to the Book of Fate where he took it, and then proceeded to bite into his veins on his wrist, filled the feather quill with his blood and wrote his name besides Mia. Dante started chanting a verse over and over again with his eyes closed.

As he reopened his eyes, after finishing his chant he looked down to observe his work. The Book of Fate was quiet for a moment. Then, as if a beast awakening from his long slumber, it shook tremendously and the clouds where it was located on, started to go dark and windy and the thunders and lighting followed. The thunders roared and the lighting struck around the gazebo, Dante stood still on the very spot unafraid and with an almost bored expression plastered on his handsome face. The shadow behind Dante, shrunk in fear, its size diminishing as it did so. The baby animals all fled the horrendous weather and hid away.

In another moment, the darkness subsided, the thunder subdued and the lighting disappeared and all returned back to the way it was before. Even the baby animals returned to its spot. The shadow peered from Dante's shoulders and finally broke out, "Phew, it's over." When the shadow did so, the Book rumbled and a shrill and deafening voice broke out.

"HOW DARE YOU TEMPT WITH FATE?! HOW DARE YOU CHANGE A FATE'S COURSE OF ACTIONS! FOR THIS DANTE, YOU NEED TO BE PUNISHED AND SHALL BE PUNISHED.", the Book bellowed out.

"DANTE, MARK MY WORDS AS THIS IS THE START OF YOUR DOWNFALL. THIS IS THE START OF YOUR DOOM AND THIS IS MY CURSE TO YOU!"

And just like that, the Book of Fate fell into silence. Of course, Dante expected no less from Fate, he turned around and made his way down the same staircase where he came from.
