3 Figuring it all out

Dante saw the look on Mia's face and for the first time ever, he didn't know how to react. If he didn't say anything, Mia's water work will burst.

He knew this day was coming and no matter how he tried to play it in his head, he knew he didn't have the words to make this revelation any easier.

Just as he was thinking of a comforting word to say, the butler Gerard knocked again and announced, "The creature is here, Master" With those words, a furry four-legged black and white shih-tzu puppy came running in, tails wagging and its bumble-gum pink tongue came right on Mia's face and started licking her face.

"Milo!!!", Mia exclaimed with delight to the entrance of the her pup. Mia had almost forgotten about Milo during her time here at this mansion. But boy was she excited to see a familiar cute face and a cute tail wagging at her.

Seeing Mia distracted by the creature and her eyes replaced fear to surprise and excitement, Dante stood up and asked Mia, "Do you want to go for a walk? I can explain how you got here. And it will freshen you up as well."

Mia was confused at first. But she nodded in agreement, "Can Milo come too?"

The man nodded.

As they walked from the room, Dante led them to the hallway. As they walked, Mia gaped at the hallway. Mia was surprised to see the hallway and even more surprised by Milo's reaction. It seemed like the pup was here before as it wasn't sniffing around the area as he would usually do in a new surrounding. It was gorgeous Renaissance style hallway, with intricate details on the ceilings. The ceilings were curved and had gold carved detailing on it and there seem to be light glowing out of the ceiling. The paintings in traditional gold frames had people on it. Even the gold frames had the same intricate details as the ceilings did.

Dante was quite amused by her expression. He couldn't help but wonder how easily distracted she was. She was in the verge of tears a moment ago, and now the creature and the hallways distracted her easily.

As he was thinking, Dante's face turned sour. Will she be easily distracted by other men? Swayed by other sparkling things just like she is now? Will be she tired to me? Dante wouldn't help thinking that. Dante's train of thoughts were derailed by Mia's curiosity.

"What is this place? Is this a museum?," Mia asked with thrill in her voice.

"This is my home. And yours too." Dante replied.

"Wait. You live in a museum? Like seriously? That's insane." Mia questioned with amazement.

Dante couldn't help but let out a chuckle. Mia gave Dante a look of confusion. "This isn't a museum, Mia. This is my home. And all this paintings are of my ancestors." Dante explained.

"Woah. Mind blown." Mia said to herself.

The second she said that, another sentence of Dante finally dawned on her. "Wait."

"I am living here?" Mia asked a little perplexed.

"Yes. And I know you are confused. Let's walk a little further more." Dante encouraged.

She was wary of him. He was a stranger after all. Dante would feel her wariness for him. And he needed to be careful. One wrong word and she would budge and run. Dante was sure of this.

The next few moments as they walked, Mia was busy admiring the surroundings. "If this guy wanted to kill me, he would have done so already." Mia thought and relaxed a little.

A little walk ahead, they reached the garden. Mia's mouth literally dropped as they approached the gorgeous garden. It was beyond gorgeous with different types of flora and flowers everywhere.

Mia collected herself before she lost herself into the wonders on this museum/home. She wanted answers. She needed to figure out what she was doing here and why she was here in the first place. She thought she may have been abducted and brought here but what exactly did this 'master' want from her? She was an orphan, with no dime to her name. Nor was she helpful in anyway. She worked 3 part-time jobs just to make it by and put her through college and have her stomach filled. Mia sensed that the guy was harmless but that didn't mean she would let her guard down. The better question she had was, how the heck did she end up married? Nothing made sense to her.

Mia turned around.

"What do you want from me? You better start talking before I do something to you.", Mia demanded and as soon as she said it, she regretted it.

She looked the guy up and down. Her size was dwarfed by the guy. 'What was she thinking', Mia cursed herself.
