The Valiant Fight

As if losing the gun was no problem, the robot just brought a sword, worrying Micah at an alarming rate.

Peter was quite aware of the sudden fate of Micah, also bringing out his sword.

"Gotcha!"

*Clash*

He made a valiant reach towards the robot, which didn't surprise Micah that much.

Although Peter didn't wish for a big fight, so to keep some distance, he decided to kick the robot, giving at least a few feet to where they could run.

The plan worked, but the robot was back up—and as all things, they always chase after you.

Peter knew this, but he didn't think it was going to happen so fast in his view.

"Run!"

The robot did get his gun back again, and now he was shooting faster than before. And, to make matters quite worse, they came up against another robot—which forced them to move to the left.

As they were running, Micah tried to think of a plan with his rushing, panicked brain.

He couldn't find anything useful or advantageous, so he decided to take the risk.

"Peter!" he shouted. "Find Asiris and the others, I'll take him out."

Without any resistance, Peter did so—turning immediately towards the other side of the arena.

Micah had no fear now, or at least he tried not to, because he still felt like he was trembling as the robot finally spotted eyes on him. He gathered all his intrepidness and brought out his sword, grunting to spit out all the fear—which seemed like it worked.

Finally, after what seemed like a while of staring, they both charged.

Both swords hoisted up.

Fear frozen inside like a ball.

And rage driving through their veins.

Finally, they met sword by sword, which Micah quickly turned to the defensive position.

He figured if he could tire out the robot's strafes, he could attack to where the robot wouldn't have much of the effect. So, he tried to perform the effectuation, keeping a stronghold against the ground-shaking collisions. But the hits were too strong, in fact—he could feel himself moving backward to escape.

He knew that it was only a matter of time before the first button was pushed.

But, he sighted something—space between the arm and the ribs, which he could duck through.

In which swept through, he found himself behind the robot, which it just found out that he wasn't there.

As the robot turned, he found a heel cannoning into his head, moving it off its feet and crashing into the statue.

Micah in the end was breathing hard for some reason, maybe due to the sudden fear that was held inside him.

He knew he still wasn't safe.

I have to find Peter, he reasoned to himself, forthwith looking in the direction of him.

No sight of him was identified.

He started to worry—but decided to keep his cool knowing what his plan was.

Luckily, he ducked down behind another position of a statue. As he looked, a robot sped by him, increasing the speed of his heart rate.

He didn't even see him before he ducked. Immediately, he got up on his feet and charged towards the other side.

Information was told this area was two hundred feet in length, so it would be at least a minute of danger and precariousness.

But, he needed to find them—and soon.

He quickly started forcing his legs to move into a great acceleration, dodging bullets, blasts, and many others he never knew about. He ran, but looked to the right—finding himself face to face with a robot.

This was like staring at death except this was just practice, but it still scared him as much.

The shock and surprise was so effective, he slipped when running away.

The robot followed pursuit, except now he was much closer than wanted.

Micah looked back seeing the robot very close—and knew exactly want to do. The robot wasn't very quick when it came to thinking, so he decided to jump on the baseline of the statue then hopped off, running away in a different direction.

It worked—barely.

The robot was quite aware of this trick, as if someone programmed them to sense the predictability in the contestants.

Micah felt quite proud of himself for thinking about that, but it quickly faded away as another robot was in front of him.

He couldn't run away now—someone was still behind him.

He was trapped, surrounded, closed in by multiple robots that marched over like people ready to kill him like he was meat, which in a figurative sense, he was.

But, ahead of him, Peter, Asiris, Caville, and the rest were charging in, attracting the robots towards them.

Micah wasn't sure if this was some type of trick or idea that was meant for him to escape, so he kind of stayed there in confusion.

Then that confusion turned into astonishment once they started fighting against the robots.

Might as well join.

So all of them went to battle with the robots, taking them out one by one with valiant efforts.

"So, how did you know I was in trouble?"

"I already knew you were gonna be in trouble."

"Well, that's reassuring."

"You're welcome."

They tried breaking through the horde, going sword to sword in a midst battle in which it was essential.

"So, how are we going to reach the flag?"

"I'll do it."

"Do what?"

"Deal with them, I'll go for the flag!"

Peter rushed away from the battle to get something that would end this test once and for all. He wasted no time in getting there, running as fast as if a big monster made of fire was after him.

He vaulted over baselines, which one of them was associated with a robot, which fell to the sprighty boot between the metal eyes.

The flag was just near its reach, but also were the robots, so this was just a path to danger—but also to reward.

He was now on the balcony, which he stopped running to not attract the robots right away to where he hadn't laid a single tip on them.

Decisively he crouched, pointing the sword spear-like, getting closer and closer to get the robots into surprise. The last step of the stairs was here, and returned to his stance on his two feet.

If he had to attack, he needs to attack now. So, he screamed through his throat and out louder than ever before.

He got the energy throughout his veins, marinating through his arms which then boosted up the acceleration, barreling the sword.

He closed his eyes hoping to feel the friction of a robot's head being removed from the neck, to open his eyes to a flag that reached out to his hand.

And yes—yes!—he could feel the sword carve through the metal shanks and pieces. Then, he felt the sword's speed come into an end, as he slowly opened his eyes and gazed upon all he wanted to see.

The flag, staring right at him as if it wanted to reach out to him.
