“Actually, I had a chance to go Western Carolina but I don’t think I could hang living in the mountains. I like my snow in short supply.”

“Yeah, winters in the NC mountains can be harsh, but it’s where I grew up so I got used to it.”

Zora absorbed that information and then, realizing something, said, “Hey, aren’t Western Carolina’s colors purple and gold as well? You didn’t consider them, or was that too close to home?”

“I actually started there, but I got into a relationship that didn’t end well so I transferred after a year,” Sarah said hurriedly. Zora read a shift in her facial features that Zora interpreted as that subject not being a painless one. Not wanting to make her reclaimed friend uncomfortable, she shifted into asking about Sarah’s hobbies.
