5 Chapter 4

For Earl this was his most awaited day, he wasn't anxious but excited but being a successful billionaire at the age of 24 was a big deal and he had to impress his father by showing him that he was making the right decision by handing him the company this early.

There was a party thrown at his parents' house to celebrate him taking over the company. A lot of businessmen and associates of the company were invited to the party; even though he was trained at an early age to take over, he still had to impress and show them he was more than ready not incompetent.

I wouldn't call it a simple because my father decided to go all out because of me achieving this position, he even invited the press

"We don't want them to have second-hand information and mess everything, do we now?"

His words not mine but he did have a valid point I give him points on that.

My father decided to throw the party today for the official announcement even though I was already handling the office for the past three months. The party was organized to be celebrated today as it was also my birthday.

My parents thought it would be best that way, so by six all the guests had started arriving and an hour and a half later the ballroom was already packed, everything was going well but I was no longer so much excited as before.

"Hey, buddy everything okay?"

Luke asked while patting my shoulder, all my friends were here to support me and I was grateful as it is we are all businessmen.

We each run a company, well more specifically Luke and I as the brothers Ty and Ethan run one company as they see it as 'stressful'.

"Why do you ask?"

"You look like you'd rather be with someone, than being here"

I just looked at him and sighed, I need to tell him as he can help me

"I just can get a certain person out my mind even though I have been trying, it's like the harder I try to erase the memory, it becomes impossible I just think of her all day and I'm loosing so much focus,"

"I mean dude... why can't you just wait for us before you two decide to start hiding things for the both of you only"

Ethan and his brother walked in on our conversation, I do trust them but they can get out of hand and Luke is the only member more sensible to help with my situation.

"Ignore them, so let me guess the person you are speaking of is Kath the girl you decided to toy with?" Luke spoke

I nodded at his question and waited for him to continue speaking; I wanted to know what this feeling was as I had already spoken to Mark and he told me what I felt was the sign of love.

I didn't want to believe him, so I just ignored it but today I could not even hide what I felt in front of my friend, maybe I could get his advice.

"So, you keep thinking about her, have images of her in your head especially when you two had sex, still want to feel her and you keep comparing every woman who approaches you to her"

He asked, but before I could reply Ethan already beat me to it

"Damn Luke, you basically just summarised everything for him, how did you get this good with feelings and relationships?"

Ethan asked while both he and Ty stared at him waiting for an answer. Actually he did summarise whatever I felt, he was like some kind of a mind reader.

"Listen here you two I would like to sit here and answer all your questions but the one I'm trying to help is neither you nor your brother"

"Can you for once not be a mean grumpy man and just answer like a normal person?"

Luke ignored him and turned to me

"I will tell you this even though it will be of no use and you will just ignore me but the fact is that you Earl are falling for the girl and I am very sure you are going to mess it up as aways. Swallow your ego and pride and admit it then apologise to her as the note you left for her was stupid."

Okay...feelings again this was not expected but I don't do love neither do I care about affections

"I know when I think of her I feel something but love isn't possible as she is not even my type so both you and Mark are delusional and wrong"

"This is what I was talking about Earl, your pride and ego will make you do something you will regret and by the time you notice it will be too late."

No, he doesn't know what he's talking about, I won't let he and my brother-in-law try to convince me that I am in love with her.

I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard father calling my name, I was needed at the stage as it was the time for me to cut the cake and before that It was announced that I would take over the company.

I gave out a speech before heading towards my mother and sister where they stood with the cake singing a happy birthday song to me.

I cut the cake and fed it to my mother and it was then divided to the guests who ate happily, my mother did a good job in planning as the guests were really satisfied and I could tell with how they happily interacted and celebrated.

Later I mingled with some of the businessmen who were around and they were really impressed and I could see from the side of my eye how my father looked proud, that is the look I wanted to see on him.

When the clock struck twelve the guests started departing and I was honestly exhausted especially when I remembered the papers that were waiting for me on my desk tomorrow and the fact that I had to wake up early.

I went to my room and changed to my sleepwear and went to bed but the moment I closed my eyes, I saw the image of Kath.

The way she moaned under me, the feeling of her skin, how she felt when I touched her and how she called out for my name when I was we were making love, all those images kept flooding my mind and I was not going to have a peaceful night for another week, aaargh why me.

I clutched my hair hard as I wanted answers to this feeling, and for me to just stop thinking about her. That was the only thing I wanted, with that last thought I tried to go back sleep even though I knew I will have a hard time sleeping.
