17 Chapter 15
I had always wanted to visit Texas before my time and I guess life was giving me the chance but in a whole different way and I am grateful though. This time I am with my son Sebastian going to find out whether the Intel about Kathleen's twin was true.
We left without informing her because if it was a false alarm then I would have opened up a fresh wound in her after all she has been through. I may have lost all my closest family but I was grateful to God for allowing me to experience fatherhood even if it was with children who were not my own flesh and blood.
Four years ago if someone told me that I would be the father to two children and a grandfather I would just laugh it all because that was not possible.
My wife was barren and she was the only person I loved in the whole world even though I lost her to cancer a year after our marriage, we did not have the opportunity to adopt and start our family. I lost myself grieving her death and I was grateful for my parents to support at the time.
I may have been only thirty years but losing a part of yourself changes who you are and the feelings you ever had. I never had the heart to remarry because I felt like I would be betraying my wife, Natalie. My father was kind enough at the time to hold on to the company while I grieved and when I was more than capable, I took over once again intending to never marry to which they respected my decision.
Natalie, I wish you were here right now to see the family I now have and knowing that I will be having another son soon. You will love them all especially Kyle the little guy who's just full of energy, his mother may have been through a lot but I was glad I showed up that day I found her on that bench weeping.
I sighed letting a lone tear fell from my eyes, the tear that symbolized and summarised my feelings all together: love, pain happiness, sadness but my thoughts were cut short with Seb who had a concerned look on his face.

"Father what's wrong?"
"Don't worry about me son, it's nothing?"
"Are you sure because if it's about Kathy then you don't have, she will not hate us for what we are doing"
"It's not that son; I am just thinking what would have become of me if I hadn't met both you and your sister and the fact that we were going to have another member with us. My relatives were always on my neck telling me to hand over my fortune since I had no one to inherit everything; they were always jealous and very greedy"
"Father you need not worry, you know Kathy and I will always be here and look what money does to people. A family was ruined but father you know Kathy will hate us for just dropping the bomb on her that she would stay with Earl."
Thanks for reminding me son, when we go the information on Adam we didn't want to waste any time so when Kathy walked into the house looking sad like she was crying and that too without Kyle we were scared, we thought something happened to him.
But when we learned the reason behind the tears I felt relief though it hurt me that she wanted space from Earl while I, on the other hand, was going to make her stay with him. This was a sudden decision for us too so in the evening when Earl came to drop Kyle off he was surprised to see Kathy with bags, I don't know why I felt like I could trust him with this matter.
The moment I told him what was happening he was ready to help me but I didn't let him because the only assistance I needed from him was for him to look after my daughter and grandchild when I was away.
The pilot called out as we were about to land and after thirty minutes the plane was on the ground, I had made arrangements to where we were to stay and for the car. We were now driving towards the boy's home, I know a lot of people would prefer to rest after traveling but for us, the matter at hand was pressing and we had no time to take rest.
"We are here," the driver spoke
Well here goes nothing. We were standing in front of a small house, well it wasn't that small but a pretty decent size.
"Father, do you think there's anyone home? It's too quiet,"
"Seb, how about we walk to the door and knock, we can find out if there's anybody. You can't just say there is no one in if you haven't confirmed it yet, remember some families are the quiet type unlike us when you are around"
"Sometimes you are an unbearable old man"
"I am only saying the truth son, now if we haven't wasted enough time here how about we go"
All this time we were I the car bickering and wasted minutes, bearing his nonsense. Seb was the first out and I followed him, he then knocked and a young girl opened the door and at that moment Seb and I shared a look wondering if we were in the right place.
"Hi miss, by any chance is there a Mrs. Jonas living in this address?" Seb asked.
She took time before she answered, I know she must have been suspicious but we had to make her aware that we had no bad intentions and that we only wanted to meet her.
"Miss you don't have to worry my name is Michael Anderson and this is my son Sebastian, we have an urgent matter to discuss with Mrs. Jonas"
"Sorry my name is Anna and sorry if I have doubts, she is in. You are welcome to have a sit while I go inform her"
She led us inside the house and went ahead to call Mrs. Jones, minutes later she appeared with a lady who looked like she was in her late sixties. She welcomed us and asked the girl to serve us drinks.
I explained to her our reason of being here and she was stunned after what we told her, she told us that she knew that there would come a time someone would find the boy but didn't expect it to be us but after telling her that his parents didn't make it she understood.
Luckily for us, she already had told Adam all she knew as she didn't even know that he had a twin, the fact that he knew what he did was better than having to come here and spook him.
We found out that he was out working and would be back at least before four in the evening, the time we had to talk privately with Mrs. Jones was a relief for us. Leaving Kathy and Kyle with Earl was not a good idea as she will not be happy with me but I had no choice because I couldn't leave them all alone in the mansion, I needed them to be somewhere I knew they were safe.
We were chatting away waiting for Adam to arrive when we heard the sound of the door open and close, she nodded at us telling us that he was here.
"Grandmother are you home?"
"Yes son in here"
He walked into the living room and immediately spotted her, "Son I'd like you to meet Mr. Anderson and his son Sebastian" she introduced us to him
"Hi just call me Michael" we shook hands so did Seb and we all sat and she started explaining everything to him
"Adam I know you are wondering who they are," she asked him and he just nodded indicating he was quiet and waiting for her to continue speaking
"Well remember everything I told you about how I found you? Turns out there was an accident that occurred that day and you were not the only one in the car. Your parents, unfortunately, we're in the car but did not make it but your twin sister did and –"before she could continue he interrupted
"Twin? " he asked sounding so confused
I explained to him everything that happened and how we actually found out about him, I expected an outburst and denial but he surprised me with what he said next
"Hold on, I always had this dream where I was playing with a little girl and she was my age, it was like we understood each other and the connection we had was very strong but when I would wake up, it was a dream but I could feel it was more than that"
I looked at Seb and we shared a knowing look because the only way that I found out about him was through Kathy and the same dream she always had about a young boy. They had the same dream but yet did not understand what it meant.
"Do you mean the dream I always had matched that of my own sister?" he asked me and I nodded
After a while, he spoke telling us that he wanted to meet his sister as soon as possible and it was okay with his grandmother, I informed them that we would leave tomorrow and he was actually ready.
