6 Chapter 5

Auriana was ready with the help of her friends and sister, she wouldn't be more thankful to them than she already was also happy with how her look turned out. With everything well put together from the outfit to her hair and make-up, she looked stunning.

"Wow Aurie you look just gorgeous"

The door to her room opened and in walked her twin brother and father, the look on their faces said they approved her look but her brother's immediately turned to a scowl.

"What's wrong son, you don't approve of her look?"

"It's not that father, she looks magnificent. It's just that there will be a lot of men and would practically be undressing her and I do not like the thought of that"

"Oh come on, her fiancé will be with her, you do not have to worry"

Auriana's mansion was large enough to accommodate a couple of hundred guests, they had all the money and luxuries they wanted but their father always brought them up teaching them the importance of family and friends, not just money.

They never bragged to anyone and would always help whoever was in need, they never made anyone feel inferior nor make themselves look powerful just because they had money and luxuries. Everyone was equal before them and that is how they always wanted it to be with the people around and close to them.

Everyone had now left leaving her behind with her grandparents who were here with her for the occasion. They were having their moment of fun bonding together catching up on all the latest events of their life until her brother showed up to call her as her presence was needed but she decided to have fun with him.

"Papa" she called out to her grandfather

"Yes"

"Alex here wanted to know what was on your mind when you had this idea of an arranged marriage, he said you are crazy ad he called you old man too"

"Aurie" Alex called out to her

"Mm," Aurie answered her brother with an innocent look on her face at the same time their grandfather exclaimed in a loud voice.

"He did what?" Grandfather was not happy.

"No papa, I was just joking with her."

Aurie looked at her brother's frightened face and she laughed at him, for her the expressions he had on his face made her so happy. Alex glared at his sister but that was not making the situation better for him since his grandfather was not happy with being addressed as an old man.

"Nana help me out, I really didn't mean what she said. I just wanted to make fun of her and her situation."

He tried pleading through his grandmother who was happy and ready to help with the situation.

The tense situation was cut short when Talia came knocking at the door, it was time for Aurie to step out and meet the guests and her future husband and in-laws. She was tense the minute she stepped out of her room, reason unknown as she was never afraid of large crowds or being the center of attention. Luckily she had her brother and grandparents with her and at the end of the staircase she saw her parents and best friends smiling at her, she calmed her nerves and she was okay and ready to go.

She didn't know who or what her husband was supposed to look like because the day both families met for diner he did not appear as there was an emergency at the company so he missed out. Aurie had already met her husband's parents and little sister so she at least knew who they were and from the large crowd of people, she had already spotted them but the challenge at hand was knowing who her husband was and not to mess up the party.

Walking down the staircase all gazes were fixed on her, she was a beauty blessed with looks, figure beauty, and brains. Exclamations and praises of how she looked were sent her way and let's just say her stylists (the best friends) were basking in praises smiling so wide knowing their hard work paid.

They did turn their best friend into a real-life princess.

Meanwhile, Xavier just stood with the crowd not bothered with them as his back was facing Aurie so he did not know what was happening or how his supposed wife looked at the moment, he casually ignored all the comments he heard and treated them as nonsense.

In his mind, he was here at the engagement party against his will so whatever happens definitely had nothing to with him, but all this was his wishful thoughts since with him were the ever talking twins who never shut up. They loved annoying this friend who only wore a cold look and unlike how they treated Bianca and how much they hated her, there was just something about Aurie that made them adore her and they would rather choose her over the fake Barbie.

"Damn man you are one lucky man to be having her as your wife," Luke said

Xavier just ignored him and continued taking a sip of the wine and treated him like air nut the twins were just getting started. They wanted to see his face and reaction the moment he turns and sees just how great Aurie looked.

"I mean, at least turnaround and see how gorgeous she looks. It not like you will be able to avoid her all night until the party ends"

The twins kept on insisting for they wished their friend would grow up a little and realize that his parent's idea and the choice they made wasn't that bad compared to him dating Bianca who was only after his money, reputation, and the connections that came along with being with him.

Leo and his brother have been trying so hard to get him to realize that the woman he claims to be dating she is not someone he could ever rely on and their fear was him making that mistake that would cost him so much losing what or who he loves and the things he treasures so much just because of his choice and mistake.

"Xav what are you doing here? You should be with mum and dad and meet my sister-in-law."

"Not you too," Xavier said to his sister.

Now it looks like everybody close to him loved this girl, even his own sister who never liked any of his girlfriends before, she was okay with this one the guests near us were all showering praises on how she dressed and her beauty, let's just say my interest in looking at her was piqued. With all that was being said I would not believe it until I saw with my own eyes, it may be all talks because no matter how many surgeries Bianca got I would say there was no one who could rival her in all aspects of body and beauty.

I looked at the guest's faces and I could at most read all their emotions from their expressions, from admiration, envy to jealousy everybody's thought were exposed and their gazes were fixated on only one person.

I turned due to curiosity, "No matter how she looked, she wouldn't be able to attract that much attention," that's what I thought.

Well I always thought that Bianca was someone whose beauty was unrivaled was shattered by just a mere glance of Auriana, from the way she dressed and how she looked, the aura she emitted screamed elegance and natural beauty. She didn't need much to enhance the beauty she already had in her. When I saw her the day I went to pick up my suit no matter how simple her outfit looked she still slayed everything clothing item she had on her. I was stunned.

"Brother are you okay? Guys, there's something wrong with him."

I could hear Lucia's voice and I snapped back to reality and that was when I saw my mother's signal to have me join her. To Xavier, this would be the third time meeting Auriana (first was at the cafe when she was with her friends, second would be today when she was at the food court section at the mall, and the third, this moment).

For Aurie, this is a whole different thing because she may remember his face but she did not know that he would be husband since he never showed up for the family diner. This would technically be the second time, well apart from that scenario at the mall since she ever saw him only he did see her and this moment at the party.

"Ummm guys, why's that guy we saw at the cafe here at the party and walking in this direction?" Mike asked.

"Uuuh Aurie, did your parents invited and how come you don't know him?" Talia asked next.

"Just like you guys, I am clueless about this. Maybe he was invited by the Blacc's," I answered.

"Well you might be right, there so many faces I don't recognize in this crowd," answered Mike.

We started whispering among ourselves and that's when I felt like something was not right, the guy looked kind of familiar. That face I had seen it somewhere but I just can't remember well, where have I seen him apart from that day at the cafe?

"Alex, you have grown so much. I still remember holding you when you were so little," I heard Mr. Blacc telling my brother.

That's it, Mr. Blacc, that man looks just like him, then that would mean...He's my husband.

"Ummm guys, can you stop for a second and listen to what I have to say," my friends ignored me.

Then I will have to find another way to get their attention and the best idea just popped into my head, I pinched both of them at the same time.

"Ouch, what the fuck woman," Mike cursed at me and Talia hissed, didn't care at least I got their attention to me.

"Guys, don't you think he looks all too familiar?"I said

"Seriously Aurie, we just established that fact few minutes ago,"

They both just rolled their eyes at me.

"No I mean look at him, doesn't he resemble someone? Just that the difference is that he is younger than that person."

They both looked at him keenly and after a few seconds I heard them gasp, their faces at the moment looked ridiculous and I love it.

"Guuuuurl you got yourself a hottie for a husband," Tal almost screamed.

"DAMN, he's hot, I wish I can have him. How about I get married to him instead of your girlfriend,"

"Come on M he's not even gay,"

"Trust me, sweetheart I'd make him fall for me," Mike said

I just laughed and shook my head, he's crazy and I love him just the way he is but sometimes I wish to admit him to a mental institution.

The night went by pretty first and I was okay with it ending early but I just never got to talk to my husband to be, it's like he was avoiding me. He mostly spoke when he was answering my father and grandparents other than that he was still and so quiet.

I just hope my marriage with him would be okay, I don't know what kind of a person he is, I wish I could know but if he avoided me then I'd rather not ask honestly. Call me a coward but I will be satisfied with just that.
