6 [Chapter 6]: Unavoidable Feelings

The band practice was over ans it was quite long and tiring. Everyone seemed to be stucked in their position, faces covered with sweat and trying to catch up with their breath. Our practices was never this long however, since the competition is almost near, we have to focus ourselves into this since the examinations were already over. As usual, when everyone went out, Caleb is supposed to be the last one to go out, however, he didn't leave the room, he waited for me to go out while smiling.

As I open the door, he tapped my shoulders and I looked at him, "Hmm?" I said and he smirked. "Sushi, remember?" he said. Oh damn, yes, damn, I forgot about that. "Shit, I'm dead." I said and he laughed, I smiled and grabbed his hands, and on this very moment, my heart suddenly pounds heavily, feelimg nervous. I looked at him and he couldn't seem to look at me. We went outside.

As we enter the nearest Sushi Café, he took his seat and I gave the orders for him. He seemed to be enjoying this, I knew, because his smile never vanished ever since the practice was over. "You seem to be enjoying this don't you, insolent vocalist?" I said while smiling. "Who's insolent now?" he said while staring at me, yet I blushed. "S— shut up!" I said and we both went silent for a moment until the orders aririved.

I continued eating without realizing Caleb's staring at me. He blushed, "Fuck," he muttered. "Problem?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Authern?" he said.

"Hmm?"

"Have you ever had feelings for someone?"

"W— What?!"

"Nothing, never mind."

We were in silence for some time, me wondering how should I answer his question.

"Actually, I— I do." I said and his eyes widened, he is in shock. "What does it feel and what did you do?" he asked. "Why are you asking all of these suddenly?" I asked and he just shook his head. "Authern I—" I

he's hesitating. "What?" I asked. "I— I like you." he said and my eyes widened from shock. I felt my cheeks getting hot, my face being pale. "S— stop joking around jerk." I said but he shook his head, "If I were, would I do this?" He slowly dragged his face towards mine, our forehead touches, while I'm frozen in my place blushing. His nose touches mine, and after a few seconds, I placed my face away. "W— we should continue eating." I said and his face sulked. He went back to his seat and he continued eating. After eating, we both stood up and walked together.

"So?" he asked.

"What?"

"You know how I feel about you, how about you?"

"I—" before I continue he said, "I'll wait for your answer. I'll wait forever, I promise you." He said and he farewelled as he take his turn on the opposing street.

I was left alone walking, wondering, thinking how should I approach this. It's hard thinking for an answer, then I realized Gale.

"I have made my answer."

—Next Day—

The day's quite hot, everyone in the student council's room is sweaty. I realized something though, Mint is here but Arthur isn't, which would be impossible from my perspective, because these past few days, separating these two would be impossible. I glanced at Mint trying to figure what happened, his face is not quite alright though, it seemed as if he cried. By epiphany, I went back to thinking how to still approach Caleb. I like Caleb, I do. But how should I tell him what my heart wants?

As we finish our paper works, Keith, our secretary called me, "Hey Authern, a cutie is waiting for you." He said while teasing. "Cutie your ass." I said and he laughed. I don't know who might the person be, but I finished some small paper works then I went outside. By bad luck, I saw Caleb. I'm not saying 'by bad luck' because I'm ignoring him, I'm not, it's just that I'm not ready to tell him what I feel yet. I don't know what his reaction might be, but I still have to prepare. As I walk towards him, "Let's go to practice together." he said while smiling and I looked at him, I smiled too, "Let's go." I said.

It's quite cute that he walked with me towards the club room, and as we enter, everyone seemed to be ready, but they were already sweating. "Whoa." I said. "Damn these past few days are getting hot don't you think Authern?" Caiden said while smirking, I didn't understand his joke though, but Caleb went to his place, "Let's start."

There is no necessary improvements after all, we have already improved, and I know that they are doing their best already. I smiled while looking at each member, I know I have made a progress. Moments later on, on break time, Caleb walked towards me while I'm talking to Caiden, "Let's go eat lunch together?" he asked, Caiden teased, fake-coughing, "Got to go, see ya!" he said. Fuck you, I cursed within my head. Caleb dragged me outside "W— wait!" I said but he didn't hesitate.

I found myself inside the cafeteria with him. He bought lunch and gave me the food he ordered. It has a lollipop beside it though, fuck, I've been craving over this for a while and this used to be my battery before. I didn't hesitate though, I ate what he ordered and it was fucking pleasurable. I loved what he ordered and he saw me smiling while eating.

I saw him laughing while looking at me, "W— what?" I asked, "You were enjoying your food too much you even got a piece of rice on the side of your mouth." he said and I blushed as he realized that. I wiped the rice off of my mouth and took a sip.

I think this is the perfect time though, to tell him what I really feel. "C— Caleb, about last night." I said, "Need not to rush, I can wait, I told you." he said but I couldn't hold off anymore. "I'm ready to give my answer." I said and he smiled, he waited for me to talk. "Caleb, I do like you too, I want you to look after me too—" I wasn't able to finish it, "Then let's be together." he said and he held my hands, "No," I said as I took my hands off of him, "Caleb, I like you too but it'd be better if we'd just be friends." I said, "Gale likes you, and you deserve a girl who can fulfill your dreams." I said and he frowned, "Here we go again about Gale," he said calmly, but he couldn't seem to hold off, my eyes started crying, tears falling consecutively, "I do not fucking like Gale!" he said and he smashed his hands on the table, I cried more. He walked out and went to the club room, here we go again, I thought, fixing things, then later on ruining them again. I was left alone crying, thinking if our relationship would even be fixed, this is for the better though, Caleb would get to enjoy what life with someone who'll fulfill his dreams be, rater than be with me.
