4 [Chapter 4]: A Friend's Request

As I take some rest and lie down at the couch inside the student council's room, I saw Mint entered. "Did you know that Arthur is the son of the congressman?" he asked. I nodded and said, "He was my classmate before after all. Why? Don't you know?" I asked. "No, I have just learned it last night." he said. "Well I thought you already knew because these past few days I've been really seeing you guys that close already." I said, he shook his head and I laughed. "Why are you here anyways?" he asked. "You know, taking some rest, waiting for band practice." he said and his eyes widened. "You are a member of a band?!" he said in shock. "No, I'm only the manager." I said. I didn't know that Mint has no idea on this. "Well alright, good luck and fighting!" he said as he leave the room. As I took my nap, someone entered the council room again. "Damn, when will I be able to take some rest?" I muttered. As I look into the door, I saw Gale.

"So how's it going?" she asked.

"What?"

"Don't say what, about Caleb!"

"What do you mean?"

"I heard you two are already close."

"Not really."

Gale knew already... about me and Caleb. However, how could she possibly know if we weren't able to see each other these past few days? "Have you introduced me yet?" she asked and I shook my head. "Not yet, he's currently busy over something." I said and somehow, her face looked furious. "What could he be possibly busy with?!" she shouted and I was shocked. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Are you dragging him away from me?" she asked and I calmly closed my eyes and said, "Why would I possibly do that." and she glanced at the table. "Authern, you know I like Caleb." she said and I nodded. "Indeed, and I hope you understand his situation too." I said and she walked towards me, "How about you go ask him out?" and I was shock as she said these words, "What kind of shitty idea are you saying?!" I said. "Ask him out for me, then when he goes to the meeting place, I'll show up rather than you." she said and I refused. "That is a bitchy idea. It sounded like you want to trick him and force him to like you." I said. "Not literally force, more like giving him a chance to know me more." she said and this is when I started hating Gale. "Are you this desperate to trick someone and fool him?" I said and her face looked angry, "Look, if you can't do it—" I interfered while she is talking, "I'll try what I can do, but take note of this, once he didn't agree, I am not going to do anything." I said and her face still looked furious. She walked towards the door and said, "For the record, that isn't a bitchy idea." she said furiously. Nice way approaching someone you need help with. Now I've seen her selfish side and I'm starting to hate her. The bell chimed for the senior high which is also a sign for practice. I stood up, gathered myself and went downstairs to the music room. There's nobody yet as I came inside so I continued taking my nap on the couch.

I wonder if this test result would make them appreciate me. As the bell chimed, I went to the comfort room then changed my clothes. After that, I went straight to the music room because we have a band practice.

As I enter the room, I saw Authern lying on the couch. I walked towards him and looked at him. His face looks so fucking peaceful. What I mean by 'fucking' is yes, fuck I'm blushing. I don't have any idea what shitty thing went inside my mind but never mind the world, all I know is I like him. As I stare at his face, I found my hands slowly trying to reach his cheeks. I pinched them gently and I smiled, "So the brave and fierce council has these soft spots huh?" I muttered and he moved. I moved back a little because I thought he'd wake up, on bad luck, he did.

—Authern—

I was sleeping comfortably I wasn't able to be mindful about my surroundings. I've had a dream though, that I am in an open field, listening to tunes and gazing upon the sky, later on, Caleb went to me and looked at me, his face positioned above mine. He smiled and he slowly pinched my cheeks and it was so soft I liked it. I blushed for so long until I realized I am dreaming. I changed positions but it didn't comfort me so I just woke up. As I take my sit, I saw Caleb beside me blushing. "A— are you alright?" I asked and he nodded. "Y— yeah, was just shocked when you wake up." He said and I realized I really was asleep for so long. I stood up, "Where are the others?" I asked and he shook his head as a sign of 'I don't know' and I just walked towards the piano. "Perhaps we have to wait for them." I told him and he nodded. He went to the couch and took some rest. I played some music in the piano, "You know how to play the piano?" he asked. "I've always do." I said and I continued playing. His face looked like he is shocked though. I mean not all people do really know that I actually play the piano.

Moments later on, the others came and I stopped playing the piano. Caiden looked at me, "You want to reveal your talent huh?" he said and I smiled. "It was never a secret from the start." I said and he nodded then smiled. Everyone went to their places and they all fixed their items. I told them exactly what to do and they did follow my orders.

After the practice was finished, everyone looked tired and they arranged their equipment. As everyone leave including Caleb, I grabbed his wrists and I dragged him near to me. "I have something to tell you." I said and his face gave in a wonder. "L— let's eat tomorrow, since its Saturday, my treat?" I said and I am feeling guilty. I know he's the type of guy that will not go with another person he doesn't know. He nodded as he smile, "Y— yeah sure! No problem." He said then he left while smiling. I fucking feel so guilty after doing this.

—Saturday—

—Caleb—

I woke up early and dressed properly I don't know why. I prepared my bag and I wore the best outfit I could possibly have. As I went outside my dorm and lock the door, I texted Authern to ask where is he but he didn't reply. I just went to the meeting place and waited for him there.

As I sat on a bench here at the park, I am still waiting for Authern but there was no sign of him. I texted him again but he couldn't seem to answer. I realized I am going back to my old self. I'm trying to control my temper though, as I know Authern will come.

Moments later on, a girl approached me. "H— hi!" she said and I looked at her while she smiles. I nodded and smiled back. "W— waiting for someone?" she asked and I nodded again. "Just waiting for a friend." I replied. After I replied, she didn't leave. "If you're waiting for Authern, he won't come." she said and I looked at her. I suddenly felt angry. I looked at her, "Let's go out instead, if— if that's okay with you." she asked but I couldn't refuse. I nodded while still feeling angry on Authern. She took me to a restaurant and she ordered the meal. "Well fuck life. I don't need him anyways." I muttered to myself but I do find myself getting so affected about this. As she came back, "I'm really sorry about Authern, he usually dumps people out sometimes when he ask them out." she said and I felt more furious. Damn Authern, just as when I am starting to trust you, you're gonna do this. I just didn't mind what she said and I ate. She was smiling though.

As I place my closed fist on the table, she suddenly touched and held it, then I looked at my hand. "Caleb... listen, I—" before she could possibly continue, I stood up and took my hands away from hers, "Stay away from me." I said as I ran outside, leaving her behind. The rain suddenly fell and thunders urged. I didn't bring any umbrella though so I ran as fast as I could and went to my dorm.

As I reached my dorm, I opened the door and threw my bag. I found myself crying as I lay down on my bed, wet and covered my face with my wrists. Fuck it, why am I so affected like this? Do I already like him? How so? Damn Authern, you've already gotten inside my fucking heart, if I could only get you out of here.

—Authern—

As I went outside the bathroom, the rain heavily fell and I took my seat. I opened the television and on time, my phone rang. I saw Gale calling me, "Caleb left me here, now he's out there on the rain and as far as I remember, bitch, he didn't bring any umbrella." she said furiously then she hung up. Fuck I hate this girl, I don't know her anymore. My mind spaced out for a second, worrying about Caleb and knowing that he is an ignorant and careless guy, he probably ran with the rain and went straight to his dorm. I brought an umbrella with me as his room is on the opposite building.

When I reached the door of his dorm, I knocked heavily while shouting, "Hey Caleb, you in there?" I did repeat for many times but he couldn't seem to answer. Moments later on, I heard a voice. "There's no fucking Caleb here." he shouted and I was shocked. My eyes were teary but I didn't let any tears fall down. Damn Gale, how could you be this insolent. Without hesitation, I barged inside as he left his door unlock. I saw him lying on the bed, so wet and he hasn't changed his shirt. I walked towards him, "What are you doing?! Go and change your clothes, you're too wet!" I said and he did follow me. However, whole doing these, he kept on smashing stuff and banging on them.

As he went outside the bathroom half naked, I looked at him and I threw his towel on him. "What the fuck are you still doing here? Leave, I need no fucking stranger in my room." he said these harsh words without realizing the person's feelings again. Perhaps, this time it's my mistake. I... I fooled him, I tricked him. Due to my idiocy, I just let him rush towards the rain and him being careless, just lay down on his bed without changing his clothes. "C— Caleb listen to me—" and before I could finish talking, he pointed the door, "Fucking leave I said, stranger." he said furiously. This time, I didn't hesitate talking back. I went straight outside while bringing my stuff. Now it has worsen.
