3 [Chapter 3]: Definition Of Closure

As the bell chimed, I packed my stuff and went straight to the music room. Classes have already ended and I'm pretty sure that I've announced to everyone that we will be having a practice after class. I walked towards the music room and saw everyone already in their proper places, not everyone though, their vocalist, Caleb, is not present. "Where is he?" I asked but no one seemed to know. "Nobody could contact him." Caiden said. Damn this kid, he's really hard to deal. "Caiden, Ethan, go find him. Others, go practice." I said and they nodded. Caide and Ethan went out the same time and I sat on the couch. Sure, everyone is already doing well but as I've said before, Caleb needs some attitude classes, and I ain't gonna stop until he change.

Moments later on, Caiden and Ethan went back, however, they weren't able to find him. I've decided that I'll fine him instead. "You guys take a rest. Then, while I am not here, you go practice on your own alright?" I said, "Alright" Caiden said.

I wsnt outside and started running, looking for him, every corner, yet I can't find him. I breathed in heavily, slowly panting, I didn't give up. I checked the rooftop, and by luck I saw him gazing at the afternoon sky.

"Aren't you suppose to be attending practice?" I asked

"Look at the sky, stars do appear already this late huh?" he said.

"Hey, I'm asking you something."

"If only we are as happy as those stars, we could've never lived in vain."

"What do you mean?"

"You know nothing."

"Then tell me,"

"You'll never understand."

"Not unless you try."

"Shut up! No matter how I explain, people will never understand!"

"That's because you were judging them, Caleb. You know it yourself, people are different. But if you'd decide how someone will act, they'll never find the chance to understand." I said and Caleb glanced at me, then looked below. He lie his body down as his back rests on the barricade. "So?" I asked. He kept on sobbing, like a kid. From this you'll know, even bad guys have soft sides. "Ever since I was a kid, my parents have never showed me enough attention." he said and he took a pause. "They were always comparing me to someone, whether it be my brother, cousins, or any other people." he said and somehow, I can feel his pain. "I have thought at first, maybe it's to make sure I'll grow up as a disciplined man, but no, instead they have shown me that they never cared about me. I thought that all of this would change if I got a better career, someone offered me to be a model. I accepted it and continued thinking that they would be proud of me, they'll give me attention and they'll mind me. What happened was the opposite. They've hated me more, and they have lived their life pretending I was never alive." he said. "Maybe they were just busy." I said. "I knew you wouldn't understand. Fuck, why even bother talking to you." somewhere, somehow, I feel guilty. "I'm sorry..." I said and he shook his head. "None of this is your fault." he said. "Caleb, no matter what, even if your parents doesn't show you much attention, there are many stuffs you should be thankful. For example, you are lucky your parents still support you financially, I mean, if not, you wouldn't be here at Southern High. Second, you have your second family, us, we have always been by your side." I said these words that made Caleb blush. He looked at me, and, fuck, I don't know what is this feeling, but from his look, my heart is beating heavily.

—Caleb—

As I narrate my story, I have never actually thought that someone would understand me. He said some words, I looked at him, I blushed more. My heart is beating heavily. I... I can't breathe properly. I don't know what is this feeling, but It's so comfortable being with him. Fuck, don't tell me that I actually have feelings for a guy, but... what if I do? If it'd be someone like him, would it be bad?

—END OF CALEB—

—Authern—

As this everything around me froze, what I could only feel is mine and Caleb's heartbeat and nothing else. It took some time, me spacing out, Caleb looking at me, and my heart beating heavily. "Shall we go to the practice now?" I asked after spacing out he nodded and smiled. Looks like he's in a better mood now. He stood up and walked with me towards the music room while smiling. As we both enter, "Where have you been?!" Caiden asked. "We have been looking for you all day!" Ethan said. He scratched his head as a sign of embarassment. "Sorry..." hs muttered. "Go to your place now." I told him and he did. When we started, his voice became more audible and mellifluous. I looked at him as he sing, and I found myself blushing while doing that.

After the band practice, as usual, everyone already went home except for Caleb. He always ends up as the last person to go out. He looked at me and he smiled, and by that glance he made, I blushed. "Let's go eat dinner." I said and he looked at me then nodded.

We got to the same restaurant where me and Caiden ate before. "A dinner at a restaurant?" he asked and I nodded. "Never seen one doing that before?" I said and he laughed, "Only fancy ones," he said and I laughed. When we got in, I placed the same order Caiden had and he didn't complain. "Are you alright now?" I asked, he looked at me and smiled before saying, "Y— yeah. T— thanks for listening and understanding me." and later on, I blushed. "Hey, it's the work of us student councils." I said while smiling. Later on the food arrives.

"Do you always eat here?"

"Only if I have someone with me."

"Why?"

"I want my friends to taste the food here too."

"You always treat them?"

"Got any complains?"

"None really."

"Alright, continue eating, it is served best when warm, you must eat it while it's warm." I said and he continued eating. Later on, going back to his immaturity, he had thought of playing with the ketchup, he placed some into my face using his finger. "Shit damn you!" I said and he laughed. It's actually nice seeing him like this. I like it, I like him.

Then I realized, fuck, I just said I like him. But what if I do? Would it be bad liking someone like him? Would it be bad if he is the one? I looked at his face and I still see him smiling. I took my revenge and did the same too. "Oh ho! Student council's getting teased." he said and I laughed. I wiped my face with a napkin and stood up. "Come on, it's already late." I said and he nodded.

While walking home, he looks at the sky. "You sure do like gazing at the sky don't you?" I asked, he nodded and said, "Indeed, stars do cheer me up. One day, when I was a kid, I have dreamed of being an astronaut and touch those stars. I know it sounds impossible, but I want to see myself successful in the future." he said and I looked at him while smiling. "It wasn't actually bad though." he said. "The what?" I asked. "The name you have thought for our band. Stargazers. I love it." he said and I smiled. "Stars do amaze me." I said and he glanced at me then he looked back at the sky.

When we have reached a certain corner, "Looks like I'll be going here." I said as I look at him. "Alright then. Goodnight." he said and he left. While slowly looking at me, I wonder if I have already finished my task on him, I wonder if he has trully changed, then I looked back and continued walking straight home.
