2 [Chapter 2]: Unfortunate Luck

As I fix myself inside the student council's room, everyone went in. I was shocked about this because I didn't know that we will have a meeting. I just went along with them and took my seat. "What's on?" I asked. "Upcoming activities." Mint said. I do really admire Mint. He's this kind, intelligent and mindful however, these past few days, his face seems quite pale and I don't have any courage to ask what's going on. Arthur, our president started discussing the upcoming events. We all were taken notice about it. Ever since Arthur became the president, there was so many changes occured in our school, to say it in a better point, our school is improving. Arthur sure is into these stuffs.

As the meeting adjourned, I went to the 2nd floor as the student council's room is on 6th floor. It was quite tiring so before reaching the art club, I took spaced out and took a rest in front of the music room, lying on the barricades in front. As I gaze unto the open field in front of me, the door of the music room suddenly opened. "Oh, Authern just on time!" I saw Caiden smiling. I looked at him, "Hmm?" I asked and he was looking shy. "Well... you see our band still has no manager, and since you're the president of the Art club, will you be our manager?" he asked and I was shocked after hearing this. "Why me?" I asked but Caiden couldn't answer any further. I took a deep sigh and glanced at the music room, "Alright, but I ain't gonna deal with the classless brat in your club." I said and Caiden looked at me. "What do you mean?" he asked. "That classless brat Caleb." I said and just on time, fuck, Caleb appeared. "Who are you calling brat, annoying council?" he said and I glared at him. "Don't try me on." I said and he glared at me too. "Alright now guys... why don't we chill for a moment?" Caiden interfered. I took a deep sigh again, "Give me time to think." I said and I went straight to the art club leaving the two of them.

As I went inside, I've wrapped my whole mind about Caiden's request. This is gonna be tiring if in case I accept this. However, I couldn't possibly ignore their request as I am a student council and I must help them. I have no choice, in the end. After all, there's nothing to loose in here. Man, what unfortunate luck do I have!

—Next Day—

As classes ended, after I've wrapped up my mind. I've told myself to keep calm and be ready to deal with Caleb. I walked straight to the music room, and before enterring, I've heard them practicing for the event. I didn't bother knocking, I went straight inside, "Alright let's start." and they all were shocked except for Caiden. "What is there a guinea pig in our room? Who brought him in?" Caleb teased. I didn't mind him, I just ignored him and continued straight to the couch. "I'm sorry about not informing you, but he is our manager." Caiden said. "A guinea pig?" Caleb just won't stop. "If your mouth won't say anything good, then better shut up." I said and he glared at me. "You don't tell me what to do here." he said then he glanced at Caiden. "Who picked him to be our manager? We can even survive without a manager. To be honest, I'd rather have no manager than a guinea pig." he said and I interefered, "I am also one of the judges." and he looked shocked. "Come on now, everyone chill?" Caiden said to stop us. Caleb took some time to chill and he was later on able to accept me as their manager. "So first, what is the name of your band?" I asked but I just heard the wind whisper. "You have got to be kidding me. You have no band name?" I asked and Caleb, as usual, interfered. "As if it's easy thinking one." he said. This time, I know I should get used to his attitude so I just agreed with him. "You have a point." I said. In addition, "How about, Stargazers?" I recommended. "Sounds nice." Caiden said. I looked at Caleb, his face is quite red. "You okay?" I asked and he looked at me. "None of your business." he said. "Hey... how about trying not to be ignorant for once?" I said and he looked at me, he sat in silence. We continued our practice and I let them stay late as two of the councilors are with them.

After the practice, Caleb, who seems to be shy or embarassed, quickly fixed his stuffs and left early. I have no idea why, but as long as he act like a decent member, I have no problem with it. Later on the others greeted us goodbye and they left.

"So what do you think about Caleb?"

"He has potential. We need to work on his attitude."

"Now that's my manager." Caiden teased and I smacked him. "You're talking nonsense. C'mon let's go eat, my treat." I told him and he went with me.

When we arrived at a restaurant, "You're this fancy to eat dinner in a fast food chain?" Caiden asked. "That's none of your business, I'm hungry." I told him and we both sat down. I ordered the food, "Not gonna ask for what I like?" be asked. "No." I said rudely and he laughed. "My, you've always been naughty." he teased. "Naughty my ass." I said.

As the food arrives, we both started eating. "Going back to Caleb, do you have any ideas why is he like that?" I asked Caiden and he looked at me. "I don't know actually. All I know is I already got used to his attitude and sometimes we just let him have his own time, as we know that he needs it. He's probably facing something." Caiden explained. For a moment I spaced out, feeling guilty of how I've acted towards Caleb. Fuck, why am I being concerned about him? "Why do you wanna know about it anyways?" Caiden asked. "As a student council, you know it yourself that we must help each student face their own problems. If we'll just let him act like that, he might get worst." I said and Caiden nodded. "True. Sometimes I do wanna ask about him, but him, being ignorant sometimes gives me the fear of asking him." he said and I smirked. "His attitude and gonna stop me. I'm butting into his life." I said. For a moment I knew it myself, it's not the student council why I wanted to know about him. It's because for a moment, I got curious about his life and I want to help him, I thought of myself.
