1 Her wish

"Why?"

Rochelle shouted at the top of her voice. She stood at the edge of the rooftop of a very high building. Her hair was messy, her eyes were red and swollen from all the tears that she had shed.

She looked up to the skies, she had a lot of complains in her eyes. Things that she wanted to say but couldn't.

"Why am I so unlucky," she screamed.

The night had just began and the streets were yet to get lively. Just then the billboard on the opposite building was lit. The lights were turned on so that it was possible for it to visible in the night.

Rochelle's body trembled with anger on seeing the picture on the billboard. It was her face that she saw on the billboard, but unlike her who was sad. The woman on the billboard looked very happy.

"Radiant, Beautiful, fragrance, when you think all this words, you think Raya," she read from the billboard.

She was none of those things. She had the same face as the girl from the billboard but no one ever found her beautiful. They were the same blood but only she knew the true meaning of pain and suffering while her twin enjoyed her life unbothered by it.

She felt bitter thinking of it.

A few hours ago, her boyfriend of six months broke up with her. Her landlady just gave her an ultimatum that if she doesn't pay her rent of four months then she would be kicked out of her house in two days.

She had lost her job a few weeks back and has been struggling to find a new one and failing each time. She had repeatedly tried to find her sister and ask for her help but the brat didn't even spare her a second of her time.

"I hate you, Raya," she shouted her name out loud.

She had never met anyone more heartless than her sister. The picture of the woman seemed to mock her misery, there was no place she could turn to that she wouldn't see her sister's face.

The she devil was everywhere. Always trying to show her that she was better with the perfect career, being the female top star of the country. Having the best husband on the world, being married to the nations prince, Ander Adiente.

Showing off her fame by the number of fans she has. Always showing up in a grand way to make her fans and the paparazzi follow her everywhere, taking pictures and talking about her all day long as though they have nothing else to do.

She was on every tv and radio station in the country. She was the talk of the town, everything she did was magic to the world. They adored everything about her and her life.

"Why couldn't it be me?"

Rochelle fell to the ground her feet giving out. Having to think of her sisters made her feel much worse than she already was.

She cupped her face in her hands and let her tears flow freely. She had lost everything and didn't know what to do to get her life back on track. Every part of her was tearing apart with her hope drowning in the depths of despair.

"Why do I have to suffer? Why can't I find happiness in life?" She asked no one in particular. The loneliness and pain in her heart was weighing on her shoulders, pushing her further and further down the pit that she had fallen into.

Finding herself was proving harder and harder everyday. She was lost and this time there was no hope for her future. She had no money, no support as she was friendless, no lover and no house.

She was completely ruined with no way to pick herself up.

Her heart grew more and more bitter towards her sister. Others could actually count that their siblings got them to where they were but she wasn't so lucky. Despite her sister being on the top of the world, she couldnt even get a job.

She cursed her luck for having being born with a twin. To have such a cold hearted woman as her sister was the worst thing that ever happened to her. "I wish that I never had a sister," she let out angrily.

She could feel her blood boiling just thinking about everything. Her chest heaved up and down with her slowed breathing. Her anger burnt her skin third degree as she recalled the painful memory of her past.

Having to beg to her sister like a beggar from the streets and be ignored wounded her heart. It was far worse than dying, they were siblings and she shouldn't have to beg for help.

"You are not a fairy as everyone assumes you to be," she screamed out bitterly. "You are a monster," she added.

She looked at the billboard with envy. Her sister had everything that she had always wanted for herself. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldnt come close to her sister at all.

The distance between them was oceans apart. It was impossible for her to even try and catch up to the national fairy, her fortune, fame and wealth reached the stars.

While she couldn't even dream of touching the sky. "I wish that your life would be destroyed, I wish that I was the lucky one between us so that I could have your life," she uttered harshly.

She took deep breaths to calm her anger. But there was a lot of of things that she still had to let out of her heart.

"I wish that I was in your place so that I can enjoy everything you have," she stated. "Only then will you understand what it is like to be me," she added.

She let out a frustrated sigh. She only got more and more offended the more she vented. She just couldn't stand the state of her life and how miserable she was.

She moved and stood on top of the wall, her eyes were filled with tears that she could hardly make out what awaited her down below. It had to end, the only solution she could see was to end it all.

What was the point in trying so many times when failure was what awaited her each time. She took out her phone from her pocket. Giving life one last chance, she dialed her sister's number and waited.

The phone kept ringing but there was no reply. She waited for a while but didn't get a reply. "Even in such a time you can't answer my call," she said sadly.

Rochelle dropped her phone while the call was ongoing. Then she jumped off.

"Hello," a sweet female voice answered the phone before it landed on the ground and shattered into pieces.

Rochelle closed her eyes for the last time ready to meet her end. She had nothing left in life and didn't feel the need to live anymore.
