Chapter 1 (The Betrayal)

COUNTRY H, GREEN CITY.

There was a blanket of stars covering the sky that was constantly twinkling as they shone brightly at night. It was like looking directly at the Milky Way. Even the perfectly shaped half-moon elegantly illuminated the city below. The entire view created an awe-inspiring panorama.

GREEN CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

In front of Green city international airport, a young lady in black attire was standing outside the airport admiring the night sky. After a few minutes she hailed a cab which she boarded.

As the cab driver drove past the bustling city, she rolled down the window from the back of the car seat where she sat in order to allow her have a clear view of the city. The vibrant and exciting view of tall skyscrapers, parks and landscape was breathtaking and it made her feel very relaxed and assured that she was truly back home.

As she watched the people and all the buildings in the crowded city, she took in all of its splendor calmly. As if the cab driver shared her thoughts he drove very slowly to give her some more time to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the city.

She had been away from this city for months and there was only a month left before her engagement to her fiance when she was expected to return. However, because she had been apart from her fiance for a long time and wanted to surprise him with her unexpected visit before their engagement.

She had traveled abroad on an overseas business trip that was supposed to take at most five months before the project would be concluded. When she was starting to miss her fiance, she rushed to reach an agreement and wrap up the contract with the client much earlier than the expected deadline for the project to be completed.

She worked overtime and had a lot of sleepless nights. Her diligent efforts and dedication paid off, resulting in her successful completion of the business trip a month ahead of schedule.

As a result she was also currently drained and exhausted. However, because of her relaxed mental state, she surrendered to the drowsiness she was feeling as the cool wind continued to refresh her.

Few minutes later, when the cab pulled over in front of a stunning villa after a long but lovely drive. It was the driver who announced their arrival. "Miss, we have reached your destination." He said.

Having woken up from her nap, she paid the driver before getting out of the car.

The dimly lit lamppost by the side walk guided her as she walked towards the villa, dragging her luggage behind her. A cheeky smile appeared on her face as she pressed the security code to unlock the door because she didn't want to alert her fiance of her arrival just yet by pressing the doorbell.

It was a very dark and quiet environment, this was a very popular estate where many of the famous celebrities and wealthy individuals lived. At this time of the night most people were either indoors minding their own personal business or somewhere else in the city.

This was the reason she believed her fiance would be at home. If he wasn't it would be more surprising for him to find her already waiting for him.

The beaming smile on her face became wider making her look much more beautiful and vibrant as she imagined the shocking expression that would appear on her fiance's face when he saw her.

This mischievous thought took away all the exhaustion she was feeling as her anxiety grew because of the prank she was about to pull.

The door instantly opened as soon as she was granted access by insert the correct pass code. She grabbed the handle of her luggage and pulled it along with her as she entered the building.

She was too tired to continue pulling the luggage so she abandoned it in a corner by the entrance. She decided to come back for it later after getting enough rest, therefore she headed straight to the kitchen to grab a glass of chilled juice to refresh herself.

While making her way towards the kitchen, some strange noise which sounded like laughter from a female caught her attention. She changed her destination to follow this sound which led her to climb the stairway to the upper level of the villa.

It was strange because there weren't any maids in the villa because her fiance always cherished his personal space and privacy. Every employee in this villa was hired directly from an agency and the staff would come every morning to do their respective jobs and leave before nightfall.

She carefully followed the sound that led to its source, which was in the master bedroom. Her hand gently grabbed the door knob and slowly turned it as she opened the door.

She was taken aback by the scene that played before her eyes, leaving her with an inexplicable expression on her face. At the same moment, her eyes began to shine as they were covered in tears that were about to fall.

She had planned to surprise her fiancé by coming home unexpectedly but she would never have thought that a bigger surprise was also awaiting her arrival.

The shocked expression on her fiance's face when he saw her was what she expected; however, it was the opposite because she could not even comprehend the look on her face when she saw him.

Before her eyes was both her older sister and fiancé who had been intimately cuddling together and sharing deep kisses on what was supposed to be her matrimonial bed.

At first they were also a bit stunned to see her standing there but they were less bothered by her presence as they continued kissing.

"What are you two doing together?" She was in total disbelief and her head was still processing what she had just witnessed but noticing how her presence was still disregarded caused her to yell in rage.

They both turned to look at Roxanne with astonishment."Sorry, little sister but it would have been disappointing if the moment was ruined because of you" Sandra Smith responded calmly.

Sandra stood up from the bed and strolled towards her sister in the lingerie she was still wearing.

"By the way Little sister what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be arriving in a month?" Sandra asked. She didn't look like she had been caught doing something bad, instead she was confident as she spoke to Roxanne.

"What is going on here?" Roxanne demanded ignoring Sandra's question and narrowing her eyes as she waited for an answer.

Roxanne expression was furious, and her tone was cold and direct, making it clear that she wanted an explanation for what she had seen. She waited with bated breath for their response and her gaze was unwavering.

Sandra sulked in her breath when she heard the cold and direct tone. She had expected a different response. She had put so much on the line to say those words, and to have them be received so coldly felt like a huge blow.

She was expected to be taken seriously, and instead it felt like her words had been disregarded.

"What do you mean little sister Roxanne? Can't you see what's going on here?" Sandra's sweet voice rang out in the room as a grin formed on her face.

Her smile only served to frustrate Roxanne, as it was clear that she was not taken Seriously. "Don't joke with me Sandra Smith." Roxanne snapped.

"Oh, you no longer have any respect for your older sister anymore..." Sandra turned around and walked to where Bruce sat. "...Little sister, don't be a fool. Do you think Brother's Bruce will fall for you?" Sandra revealed with a cunning smile on her face as she looked at Roxanne.

Roxanne turned coldly to look at Bruce disregarding the words and smirk plastered on Sandra's face.

"Y...y...you Bruce, why did you cheat on me? I am asking you a question!" Roxanne yelled at Bruce, who looked at her for a second before expressionlessly indicating that he didn't care about the crime Roxanne was accusing him of.

When she received no response from Bruce, Roxanne shifted her gaze back to Sandra.

"I always treated you like a sister, so why would you steal my man? I even thought you were happy for me but you were actually conceited all along" She said in a sharp tone, pointing her finger at Sandra.

Sandra caressed Bruce bare chest with her palm. "You are so dense Roxanne."

"Little sister I didn't steal your man and Bruce also didn't cheat on you. Were you so naive and stupid that you didn't realize we were playing you? Let me share a secret with you sister, Bruce and I have been in love before you even came into the picture and he only agreed to date you for nothing else other than to get his hands on your company shares that belonged to your mother, and you fell for the scheme because you fell in love, so who is to blame right now?" Sandra explained with triumphant laughter.

Roxanne balled her hand into a fist as she charged at Sandra but was flung to the other side by someone making her fall down. Her eyes turned to the person who was no other than Bruce, who held Sandra in his arms with a worried look on his face.

"Sandra are you okay? Are you hurt? He asked, checking if she was hurt.

Sandra smiled softly at Bruce and glanced Roxanne with another wicked smirk, before replying in loving manner. "I'm fine Bruce don't worry about me."

"That's a relief. I don't know what I would do if you were hurt." Bruce kissed her on the lips in front of Roxanne.

How could you attack Sandra like that? What if she gets hurt?" Bruce lashed out in rage at Roxanne.

Just looking at how Bruce was showing love and affection to Sandra in front of her. It was at that moment that it became clear to her that she had fallen blindly in love with the wrong person.The Bruce in front of her had never loved her before. Her lips stretched into a broad smile before she erupted into a fist of laughter. Her laughter caught the attention of both couples.

"Have you finally gone crazy, b***h?" Bruce stared at Roxanne with rage. He had been silent throughout the entire conversation, however as soon as he saw Roxanne charging at Sandra, he grabbed her and tossed her away to protect Sandra.

Bruce decided to ignore Roxanne, and focus his attention on Sandra who was clinging onto him. Although he had to admit that despite her current disheavelled state Roxanne was still a beauty however she disgusted him.

After a while, Roxanne stop laughing and stood with a blank expression and gave a icy cold glare to the couple.
