Until a couple of days ago when Jung-In began to think about what-ifs. About real marriage. Their differences in rank and prospects could be set aside, he was sure, because Soo-Ah was the one for him. 

And suddenly he understood why he mulled over her memory for all those years. It built toward nothing else but this. In his stubbornness, Soo-Ah was the other kind of woman from his father's preaching: the one to marry.

When he first saw her after so many years, he could not say he was "in love" with her.

They'd been reconnecting with each other for three or four days now, and it was as if they had never been apart. She was the only one he felt so easy to be around, so drawn to. She was the only one he felt so close to.
