33 Chapter 33: Budapest
"This is your target. She is a highly dangerous assassin, from the KGB. She defected and now is a threat." said Fury to Clint.
While Clint is reading the file on the Black Widow assassin Natasha Romanov, Fury continues. " Make sure that she's gone".
"Don't worry, I know what to do," said Clint confidently. This is how the first meeting between Black Widow and Hawkeye is created.
Ryan got a notification when there's record of Barton leaving for Budapest.
"So soon? We just had the new year party…" He said with a hangover. It's now only several days into the New Year 2008. "The plot will not wait it seems."
The meeting between Hawkeye and Black Widow will lead to Dreykov. Right now Shield only thought that Natasha is from KGB,as this is her last affiliation before running away.
The Red Room will be exposed if she speaks, so Dreykov is sending multiple teams to kill her. He didn't use the widows, instead he used the Russians black ops .
Red Room has close ties to the Russians, even Dreykov has another identity as a Russian ambassador.
"The body who will be responsible for this mess is the… no-name elf." He barely opens his eyes when he decides this. It was 3.00 am at the time. Ryan spoons with Gwen and goes back to sleep.
The elf apparated to Budapest and watched the whole thing go down." Oh so young, and full of vigor. " He stalks the duo, watching their every move.
Barton met Natasha at a ballet theatre, he followed her home to kill her. He saw that Natasha was just a girl who wanted out instead of a dangerous person.
He betrayed Fury's order and didn't kill her, instead he brought her into Shield as part of an asylum project.
They then had to fight their way out of the siege of multiple black ops task forces, and Natasha telling him about Dreykov.
"Before I leave with you, there's something else we need to do." Natasha only got one chance to kill Dreykov, and she took it,even if there's collateral damage.
Killing Dreykov is the same as killing the Red Room,but she didn't actually kill him at the time and she didn't know about it until years later.
*BOOM!!! *
The Russian embassy in Budapest exploded. Debris falls down like projectiles, to the surrounding bodyguard, killing them instantly for some.
After confirming that Dreykov is in the explosion. Natasha and Barton drive aways, and now they are returning to Shield headquarters.
"Took you long enough", the elf sighes and apparated into the exploded embassy.He had followed the duo progress for days. The building was still on fire at the time.
"Now, where are you?" He waltzes amidst the fire, but the fire seems like it is alive. The fires will avoid the elf once he is near.
He sees Dreykov is unconscious and Antonia, Dreykov's daughter, has burns all over her body."Damn, how could the bastard have very good luck?" First, he teleported Antonia into the island base, to get treatment.
After that, he used legilimency to read Dreykov's memory. "Disgusting bastard", he kicked the fat body. *Poof* The body flew into the already cracked walls, making it fall into it.
Dreykov had done many terrible things. The kids he trafficked will get into the Red Room if they have talent to become an agent. While those who aren't talented will be sold to brothels or some rich pervert for collections.
He views women as lesser, and his misogynistic tendency could make him do inhumans acts. He also has another identity.
"I need to move fast". The elf apparate out of the building. He uses legilimency forcefully when reading Dreykovs memory, until his brains melted. "There's no chance of survival this time."
In less than 20 minutes, he already reached the first Red Room base. It is in Russian. The floating base hasn't been made, although he read the plans in Dreykov's memory.
"I guess Red Room really hit its heyday after the red dust drug was completed. Too bad it won't have the opportunity to do that now".
*Alarms*
The sound of sirens are blaring through the base. Of course, the elf cuts the communication and signals so that the base is isolated. He broke into the underground base to rescue the widows.
(in Russian) "Who's the intruder?"
Another red room executive replied panicky "I don't know, he didn't shows up in the cameras"
There are some widows that attack him when he breaks in, but who wouldn't? It's not like they know he's here to save them. He knocks some of the widows out, but he does it gently.
*Slash* a widow is currently trying to cut him, but he side-step and karate chop her neck from behind. *Plod* the widow fall down to the ground, unconscious.
The other operatives and administrators of the Red Room didn't have his mercy. "Tier 1 Magic Missiles". Orbs of energy shoot down the executive body, leaving a gaping, bloody holes.
Once he's done, the only people left in the base are the widows and the kids that are in training.
"Who are you?"one of the widows asked in horror. The person could summon fire from his hand, people died when he spoke, the wall crumbled before him, no locks could slow him down, and no one could escape.
There are more than 100 people on the base, but only 15 widows and the kids survive. She didn't know what was going to be their fate, or what he was going to do with them.
She waited to get the answer from the person in the mask. That person is wearing a white Japanese style yukata or robe, wooden sandals, and a half helmet with long deer antlers on his head, covering his face but his long green hair flows freely.
Although he is somewhat feminine, with a small frame, a 177 cm tall, making him somewhat gender ambiguous, she assumes that the person is a he as he is wearing mens clothes. She knows that this person is a superpower, and there is no use running.
The elf didn't answer her question, but instead said "Dreykov is dead". The widows are shocked. "I have a short amount of time to raid the other bases ", otherwise the people behind him will take over, and the widow will be 'caged' again.
The airbus landed near the base. "I won't force you to follow me, but it'll be hard for you to get out of the country by yourself. Those people are already blocking the exits."
He is notified by the Red Queen about Dreykov's organisation, so he needs to move faster. There are 4 more bases he needs to raid. The widows decided to follow him for now, the kids have no choice.
It took him several hours to raid the other bases. There's now more than 100 widows on board. And more than 500 kids!!
The atmosphere in the aircraft is mixed. Some of the widows wanted to run away from him, some had already left it all to fate. Some curse their destiny to be exploited. Some wander where he'll take them .
It can't be helped as they might think like that. He didn't explain himself enough. There's little time to do that, or to get their trust. He needs to focus on saving them for now.
The widow obediently follows him for now because he shows tremendous power. If he's an ordinary guys, they won't still be here. The plane flew for a few hours before landing somewhere.
"We've arrived, get off the ship". The elf says. He took the lead to go out. The widows hesitated for a while, then followed him out with the kids.
If they can't escape this life, at least they'll beg for the kid. "What are you going to do with us?" one of the widows asked. He didn't tell them anything about what he's going to do, so she is a little antsy.
The elf turns to the widow who asks. His mask concealed every emotion on his face. Then the widow heard him say " Meowth" like he's calling someone.
Most of them are confused,but when the elf is done snapping his finger, the pokemon, Meowth is teleported there. Meowth was teasing Psyduck before he got there, so he's in an awkward pose.
Meowth, the ass kisser, quickly said "You're back boss!" The widow and the kids who saw it are greatly surprised to see a talking, standing on his two leg cat. "Bring them to get settled on the island. I have some other things to do. I'll talk to them later."
The elf teleported out. He needs to get the widows who are currently doing their mission, before he loses them. He still hasn't completed the bonus quest.
" Leave it to me boss! ", the cat says. The boss entrusted him to do a job, so he's gonna do it perfectly. Maybe later the boss will promote him into the higher ranking.
Meowth is an intelligent pokemon. He feels like his boss is a part of a powerful organisation, as the technology he has is very advanced. He also knows the boss can do magic. He wants to hug his boss's thigh.
"Listen up, please follow me to your quarter. As you're the boss guest, I'll explain what you can do here." Meowth said loudly and started to organise them. He makes them into groups like a preschooler.
A young widow asked "Guest? Not a prisoner? Does your boss want us to work for him?". She may be afraid to ask the masked guys, but the cat is not a problem?
Meowth disdains the question. " Only a guest. You don't deserve to work for him. You are too weak." To be honest, a pokemon is strong. Meowth can solo all of them here, provided that they can't use advanced weapons.
They went to the island center and residency. The place looks like an Eastern European city, gloomy and packed." You guys can pick a house to stay in."
"We'll eat the food together at the Great Hall for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner." Meowth told them that because he and the other pokemons always eat together with the elf in the great hall.
"Meowth, who are they?" A Droid asks the cat. "CK-2, they are the boss guest. There's a lot of kids so you Droid have to help take care of them".
A kid that has talent to become an agent is very smart, but Meowth doesn't know this. He assigned some Droid to take care of them.
The Droid is part of the nursery programme on the island. "Leave it to me" The robot said while saluting the cat.
The widows and the kids' surprise are endless when they see a talking robot. And the robot is very nice to them.
Then, they also saw dragons flying in the air, a flaming horse, a duck, and various beasts. "They are welcoming you to the island." Meowth explained.
The widows who didn't believe the elf didn't want them to work for him now hesitated. "With powerful power on the island, are they still needed?..If not.. Why did he bring us here?"
Pushing the anxiety down, they pick the house one by one. They are a bit dissatisfied at first because it's only a flat, and from the outside it looked very small.
Some of them believed this only to be temporary, so they didn't complain much. They were shocked again when they opened the door.
All the units have a 100 square feet area, with various luxurious furniture, even a jacuzzi on the balcony. It looked like a high end hotel suite.
"Meowth, what is this?" a widow asked the cat. She had been entering and exiting the house a few times, still in disbelief. "The boss magic, I don't know much".
Kids under 10 are paired with the droid, and those over the age can choose their own place. A 4 year old kid then turns to Meowth and says " I'm hungry".
"Let's go to the great Hall, it's almost time for lunch". Meowth invited them all. They had settled for a few hours in their room.
The room has entertainment, a gym, a hot tub, and everything they need. They are very satisfied with the treatment. Some even think it might not be bad to work under the masked man.
The great hall only has a long table. "Please be seated", Meowth says to the group. "What about the food?" There's only a table here, and they didn't see any kitchen. But they obediently sat for now.
Meowth imitates his boss and says "Let the feast begin." The group is confused.
Suddenly various dishes appeared out of thin air onto the table. The elf imitates Hogwarts Great Hall in doing this.
He already told the house elf about the guest. The house elf only obeys him, and not Meowth, so he had to ask them personally before he left.
There is food from various cultures, complimenting the peoples various races. The group ate for an hour.
"Do you have Mac n Cheese?" The dish appears on the table. "And some hot sauce?" a bottle appears after she asks. Such a scene is seen all over the Great Hall.
Meowth said "there are various things to do on the island, you can explore it yourself. If you're lost, just call for the queen."
"The queen?" the group tilts their head in confusion. A holographic projection of a beautiful girl carrying a red umbrella appears.
"Master asked me to help you. There's smartphones for you if you go to the warehouse. It'll help you find the list of thing on the island."
The queen left after saying that, leaving the girl speechless. "What kind of place is this exactly!!"
