134 Chapter 134: Fury’s negotiation.

"There is a high chance he will disagree with it," Maria Hill said. 

"Yes, but we still need to try," Fury said in a low tone. 

Today's negotiation will pave the path to a brighter future for earth if Fury could succeed in this. Fury thought the insight program would be responsible for the safety of mankind on Earth. 

You see, Fury loved people. But he didn't trust them very much. Unless there will be a contingency plan – for mankind, then he won't feel safe. 

Entering the chairman's room, Fury saw Hiddle pouring tea for Tim Knight. Ryan's father was finishing up his work for the New York construction before getting off from work. The last thing on their agenda today was meeting with the head of the superspy organisation. 

"You're early. Please wait for a while. I am finishing up. I can't do it quickly as I am not that young anymore," Tim said to Nick Fury while Hiddle escorted Fury and Maria Hill to sit on the guest sofa a few metres away from Tim's main desk.

"Do you need some tea while you wait?" Hiddle asked the duo. They are visiting formally at this time, so a certain manner of business needs to be kept. 

"Tea is fine," Fury replied. 

"I don't need any," Hill said. 

"Too bad, Hiddle makes a mean tea."

Tim finishes his work and sits down on the sofa adjacent to the agents. Hiddle stands next to Tim after preparing tea for Fury. Hill didn't drink any as protocol didn't allow her to. If by a minuscule chance the tea or drinks ingested was drugged, she needed to be sober to bring Fury out of here. 

Fury picks up the small cup of tea and blows on it as it is still hot. The agent sips the tea before revealing his motive for this formal visit. 

"I agree. He does make excellent tea," Fury complimented the butler. 

The negotiation started smoothly. Fury shared the things that will be beneficial to Tim Knight and company while keeping his trump card for something else.

"The chitauri's material under DODC will be sold after it is analyzed. The analysis will be shared with every major institution to prevent a sole party from taking advantage of it," Tim said to Fury. 

"We can manage that. The world security council has appointed various researchers in this area, but we still need to hold the weapons analysis away from the public," Fury replied. 

If he comes by a week before this, he will make a different decision. That is to hold off the entire technology completely from the world and study it on their own. This is before he found out a massive amount of alien technology had been smuggled outside of the country, even before the DODC could get to it. 

The DODC needed the fund to rebuild New York from the war aftermath. If Knight Industry wants to cover the cost of the construction by themselves, the company will be in some tough times – on paper. To be honest, Ryan can rebuild the city on his own. But the government had been creating a budget and gotten charities from all over the world for this matter.

He felt bad for the displaced people, that's why he had been monopolizing the construction and was bleeding the politicians dry. They didn't even manage to embezzle it as Ryan is making all of the charity funds transparent and accessible to the public.

The world outside had been showing progress with the reverse engineering of alien technology faster than he expected. Some even cracked the chitauri gliders principle. It will be stupid to try to block it now. 

Of course, the more chaotic the world is getting, the easier it is for the snakes to push forward their projects as there are a lot of justification to do that. 

"I have read your proposal. You wanted Ryan to share the weapon-making technology with you in exchange for something?" Tim asked in curiosity. 'What card does Fury have to make him confident like this?'

"As you know, in the reverse-engineering of the chitauri weapons, the world will be in chaos as the weapons flood the market."

Fury takes out a file and shows it to Tim Knight. It shows multiple battle marks from the chitauri weapons from various parts of the world. 

"The biggest threats are in New York as some gangs are smuggling the weapons to other underground groups," Fury said solemnly. 

Especially in Hell's Kitchen, alien technology trading has become a growing trend for the gangs there. <"If you didn't have an alien weapon, You are not an official gang!">

Living life from this motto that comes out of nowhere, these gangs are fighting each other in the dark to achieve the top hierarchy in Hell's Kitchen. 

This motto that was built by the bald, massive man in a white suit that carries a cane had allowed the Kingpin to absorb the fallen gangs into his organization, growing rapidly into the only underground organization in Hell's kitchen.

"The world is just beginning to get more messed up," Fury added to his explanation.

Using the quantum threat analysis– a specialty of SHIELD, it is predicted the members of the public will be in a state of uneasiness until they can come up with stable ways to neutralize the threat. The insight project will be completed in four months. In the meantime, SHIELD needed ways to fight off the terrorists. 

For the matter in Europe, the evidence that SHIELD has, was from Yelena killing off the human trafficking organization. The massive network had been 55% wiped by the cumulative effort of the islander and the justice system since they got out of the Red Room. 

Instead of changing their ways, these human trafficking gangs are trying to find weapons that could destroy the disgusting ONI organization that had always blocked them from selling the captured girls and children from all around the world. Not that their effort mattered much for the enhanced islanders.

Yelena even got bombed by the makeshift explosive that uses the chitauri power source. She avoided the bombing easily and decapitated all of the guerillas hired by the child trafficking unions.

" Although right now he is using tritium as the main core for the weapon, SHIELD will share our knowledge with him so that he can create a stable technology," Fury negotiated.

"Well, you know my son. Do you think he will accept your offer?" Tim asked, a little disappointed with Fury's offer. He expected something more shocking. 

He already knew that his son had cracked the stable energy weapon a long time ago. Ryan won't need SHIELD'S data to do that.

"He will reject the offer. I am certain of that."

"Then are you prepared to change his mind?"

Hill was in awe after listening to the two foxes talking. She thought that Fury was cunning enough until she met Tim Knight.

"Well, I was hoping for his charity," Fury replied playfully with a little hint of the truth. Seeing it didn't work, Fury didn't hold on to the first negotiation.

Fury takes a deep breath and signals Hill. She takes out another file and puts it on the table. The file is labelled as Marcus Knight, making Tim and Hiddle widen their eyes.

"We have found Marcus Knight." 

Fury takes out his trump card for this negotiation.

"Has the architect been planted into his position?" Alexander Pierce asked his subordinate calmly.

"Yes, he had learned all he needed to know about the Knights, and will act accordingly," Jasper Sitwell replied to the Hydra head.

"Good. He needed to keep a close tab on them, especially the kid. He is far too dangerous to be left alone," Pierce said.

One of his winter soldiers was taken out from being frozen inside the cryo chamber for a monitoring mission and even espionage inside Knight's industry. 

The man who had vanished from the world since the attack on the Knight family for almost a decade now had reappeared inside a terrorist compound in Singapore. 

Faking malnourishment, the winter soldier Marcus Knight was extracted to the United States by SHIELD's effort.

He also gave the winter soldier an absolute order so that when the time comes, the living weapon can kill Hydra's threat – Ryan Knight for him.

"Wait, my uncle is still alive?" Ryan said as he listened to the conversation his dad had with Fury. It seemed that Marcus Knight had been forced to be involved in several crimes internationally, so SHIELD is proposing a full pardon in exchange for the weapon technology.

"Sly old fox," Ryan muttered with ruthlessness in his eyes. Thankfully, it wasn't directed toward Fury. The old man didn't cross the line such as holding Marcus hostage or something. 

"Dad, you can agree if you want. It won't matter much anyway," Ryan said to the earpiece that his father is wearing. He knows that his father always had a feeling of guilt because the incident that his family faced before had caused many family members to die. 

With the individual shielding technology that he got from the DUNE universe, this low-level energy weapon won't matter much to him.

"Urgh-" Ryan groaned. He suddenly remembered the stupid things he had done. 

"I have sold the gun with my name inscribed on it that he gave me as a gift."

It was during his first trading session that he had done that. It was added to his fund as his first trade to the system.

Without hesitation, he uses a magic forge to create a replica of the gun, down to the last detail.

"Hopefully, he won't remember much about it," Ryan muttered in concern as he lied to himself.

Marcus had told him that the gun was given to him by his army commander and he brought along the gun for every battle. It is impossible for Marcus to not remember what the gun looked like.

Hydra thinks that they can monitor Ryan if they send Marcus Knight back to his family. They thought wrong. 

Fury and Maria Hill were waiting for the elevator to get to the ground floor. Fury was not showing it, but he is extremely glad on the inside. 

'With Ryan Knight and Tony Stark, the insight project will be completed without any problems.'

Now that he had brought the big guns, he can now focus on the problems that he had found inside of SHIELD.

Bringing Ryan and Tony is not only for the sake of the projects, but he wished these men could find ways to save the organization. 

By the time the negotiation was over, it was already dark outside. He got a ping from the teams in New York that are investigating a case based on his order.

"We are stopping in the Hell's Kitchen base."

Fury said to Maria Hill as he drove the black SUV toward the district. The team had gotten a lead on the vigilante that are fighting the gang members inside the Hell's Kitchen, making the situation there even more chaotic.

At the docks of Hell's Kitchen.

*BANG*

A massive explosion occurred as the gang members are throwing a chitauri-based grenade from a higher ground toward the three vigilantes that were interfering with the weapons sale. 

"Who the hell are you?" Jessica Jones in a neat suit and high-tech glasses was asking the masked men.

" Cause that is what's important now." Ava in a similar get-up almost rolled her eyes toward Jessica.

"I will take the left, you can take the right." Daredevil ordered the girls. He just met them tonight, but it seemed that they had the same target.

"Who are you to comm-"

"Gawain, focus," Ava scolded Jessica. If they are still bickering here, the weapon smuggler Alexei, will successfully run away. 

"Hmph- Benivere, he is an unstable factor," Jessica defended herself. Under the heavy fire, Ava and Jessica opened their umbrella and created cover for Daredevil to chase the smuggler. 

Ava pulled the trigger of the umbrella, and it shoots out a shock wave bomb toward the attacker. 

'It's all Skye's fault,' Ava thought in annoyance. The umbrella can become more lethal than this, but Skye didn't let Kai open the feature. She felt like they were not ready. 

Ava was a trained assassin. She had killed multiple men. Sometimes she sighs when Skye treats her like a complete newbie, the same as herself. 

Jessica and Ava are working perfectly together. Jessica didn't even need to use her enhanced strength in the battle. Sometimes Trish has joined them, but she is on the air tonight. 

"Down," Jessica said calmly. Ava ducked and a manhole cover was thrown toward the attacker with extreme strength. It didn't hit anyone as it will kill those people. It hit the container on the docks, and it fell in front of the attackers, trapping them inside a metal cage. 

"What did he tell you about keeping the damage down?" Ava said in disbelief as she saw what Jessica had done. 

"Who cares, it's not like he is here anymore," Jessica says, a little sad that Kai didn't say goodbye. Ava understands her feelings, but she is the leader after Skye. Jessica needed to be reprimanded for her action.

The battle is over immediately when Jessica throws the manhole cover. Kai had stressed the importance of control in using her powers. She had advanced in her skills exponentially after having Kai as a teacher. 

'Ahh, I miss him,' she thought to herself. Mostly, she misses the alcohol that Kai always brought out. Their taste is heavenly, and it causes Jessica to drool a little bit after thinking about it. 

"Heads up!" Ava suddenly pulled Jess out of the way. She saw that something was flying toward them. 

*Baam* 

The flying thing hit the container, making a dent on it. It was a heavy stone, coming from the direction of the smuggler. It wasn't aimed at them, but it did almost kill them. 

"That is.. The masked guy and… " Jessica said as she activated the zooming function of the glasses. 

"Superpowers?" Ava muttered. She saw a pair of black men and women, wearing a collar on their neck. Their appearance is deformed by whatever was injected using the collar. 

The woman can bend all the bones in her body, zig zagging like a snake, trying to coil the daredevil. The man has extreme strength, however his bone will break the moment he uses it. 

Their eyes are lifeless, and they are only following orders. If they are to be ordered to die, they will do it without hesitation. 

Matt Murdock is in a tough battle. One by one, the pair of siblings aren't even worth fighting him. But together, they are surpassing his ability to react. 

The sister manages to coil herself around Matt, while the brother is preparing for a final strike. With it, he will kill his sister too in the process 

A stream of tears started to fall from his lifeless eyes as his brain desperately screamed for him not to kill his sister. But his emotions aren't in control of his body. 

"Stop!" Daredevil screamed, not because the man is trying to hit him, but because he notices that the man is being controlled and killing someone important to him. 

*Bomph*

A trashcan suddenly hit the man, stopping him from his action. 

Ava and Jessica are running toward Matt who is losing his oxygen, and is almost unconscious. 

The last thing Matt remembers is that Ava had disappeared from where she was standing, and appeared next to him. The smuggler Alexei already got away during Matt's battle with the superpowered siblings.
