18 Chapter 17: Oleander ( 1 )

Samael wraps his wounds with a clean piece of cloth. He never thought they would chase him this far. Hearing the sounds of the footsteps Samael quickly runs away; With every step he makes he can feel his body becoming heavier and heavier. He may want to rest for a while but he knows that once he sits down he won't be able to get up again.

As the blood drips down to the ground Samael's sight starts to get blurry, as his legs start to feel like the ground is holding them back for him to be unable to lift them up. Unable to see the road clear, Samael stumbles upon a broken brunch . He hissed as he felt the impact of his body to the ground.

Samael tried to stand but he was unable to move any of his limbs anymore.

Am I going to die here? Samael asked himself. Unable to accept his end, Samael grips to the ground trying to crawl. There's only one thing in his mind.

He doesn't want to die!

Pearl sighed as she stumbled at the brunches. Why did I agree to go with Jaida to pick up some vegetables in the mountain again? Pearl asked herself as he stumbled again causing her to fall to the ground.

"Uhhh!" Pearl groaned annoyed as she massaged her ankle. " Why are there so many branches here?!" Pearl said as she looked at the direction she stumbled to only to see the body of a person.

Pearl's body shivers as she shouts at the top of her lungs.

Hearing Pearl shout a young man with jet black hair and bright amber eyes comes running toward her.

" What's wrong Pearl?!" Jaida asked, alert.

Pearl's body trembles as she points at the body before her.

" a corpse... " she said as tears appeared in the corner of her eyes as she started to turn pale.

Jaida walks towards the body. He checked for the pulse and to his surprise he's still alive.

" This man is alive." Jaida said with a hint of surprise and disbelief.

" What?" Pearl asked, confused and unfocused.

" This man is still alive! Even with all his wounds he's still alive." Jaida said, looking at Pearl.

Pearl looked at Jaida as the information processed in her brain. This man is alive. He is alive! Pearl immediately stands up and walks toward the man.

" Jaida help me. Let's take this man into the camp" Pearl said as she put the arm of the man around her shoulders.

" But we can't just let anyone in the camp, the elder brothers would surely be mad" Jaida said as he hesitantly looked at Pearl.

" Still we can't let this man stay here. He would certainly die!" Pearl said, looking at Jaida.

" Just if older brothers get mad you'll be the one who'll take the responsibility" Jaida said as he sighed and walked towards Pearl and wrapped the other arm of the man on his shoulders.

As soon as they got in the camp Pearl immediately called for help as they carried the man towards where the physician was. Even though it looked hopeless, the physician still managed to stabilize the man.

" Pearl, look at this. " Jaida said, showing a blade to Pearl. It was a black katana, with a black blade and black with a little bit of color gold at the handle. The sword has a hint of simplicity and danger.

Pearl then noticed the marking on the blade.
