Chapter 16

Xian watched as he looked at his Queen matched far away from him, he doesn't know why but for some reason he felt something uncomfortable seeing the man ride the horse farther and farther away from him. It's been weeks since he ordered Major General Lionel Ellis Von Kinsley to gather some men and subdue the bandits and today is finally the day that they would leave the capital to the Eastal Plain after weeks of planning and scouting.

Xian only turned around when he finally was not able to see the troops. He walked toward the office and chose to bury himself in the paper works. It was past midnight when he finally decided to call in for the night. Anlu tried to tell him to rest but he stubbornly chose to continue.

It's been awhile since I worked hard like this. Xian thought as he looked outside of his window and stared at the night sky.

" Even tonight the stars still shine so bright. " Xian said as he stood up from his chair and walked outside his office.

.........…

Aizel felt weird going out of the palace after years of staying inside. He might have gone out to visit his parents once but that was only for hours and now he's traveling to a battlefield. He never thought he would be able to ride a horse and hold his sword again.

" Let's camp here for the night." Ellis suddenly said and everybody started to make camp.

" I never thought his majesty would let you go to the battlefield again and not only that he even gave you back your title as general." Aizel heard his brother say as he went near to him.

" Even I don't believe it either, but for some reason his majesty suddenly changed this past month." Aizel replied.

" Do you think he's plotting something?" Ellis asked as he stared at his brother.

" Maybe, but as of now I still can't read what he was thinking. Being with him this past month felt like I'm spending time with a different person'"

" .... Do you think he was replaced?" Ellis said seriously looking at his brother.

" I thought that as well that's why I took the testing device from our house when I last visited and used it on his majesty but it said that he was indeed the king." Aizel replied.

" Well no matter what it is, I just hope that he will continue these actions. The capital really needs to change, especially the court. As of now, there are more snakes than Saints in there." Ellis said

Aizel didn't reply to his brother as he knows too well how rotten the imperial court is right now. Aizel looked at the sky and looked at the stars and remembered the time he saw his majesty look so lonely while looking at the stars.

He wonders what his majesty is doing right now. Would he be doing his work? Or maybe he would be in the other consorts palace? Thinking Xian was in bed with someone else Aizel's moods started to get bad as he felt some stings in his heart.

He doesn't know why but for some reason thinking his majesty in another woman's bed leaves a bad taste in his tongue which has never happened before. He couldn't have fallen for the king?!

No, that would be impossible. I must be tired and haven't been out of the palace. It's just due to the change of environment. Aizel thought to himself and brushed off the idea and walked towards his brother to talk about his plans.
