5 University life is not easy

Someone is lurking on the crevices outside the Riverside University entrance. The archway has the University motto. It says "Credens in Unum Talentum est Scriptor."

He already knew which subject her first class is and her schedule for the day, his smartphone keeps on vibrating, he knew it was something important but ignored it, she is more important. Owning her in just a long-distance stare is fulfilling, they have their own little world in his head. What he didn't like about his little wife is, she has zero sense of danger, he is sure that this girl didn't have flight or fight instincts.

"Love why are you so unsuspecting?" He murmured. He is too smart to deny that what he is doing is actually stalking.

Lexie chose this University because it is one of the prestigious in their State and they offered her half scholarship, paying half of her tuition is worth it.

Riverside City is an expensive place to live, that's why Lexie’s parents decided to raise her as an only child.

Even if she is half scholar her college tuition is too expensive that her parents cannot afford her daily miscellaneous expenses, so she has to work part-time jobs to help.

She is talented with arts and drawing, so she tutors kids with rich parents, she also works at a coffee shop and sometimes does housekeeping. She got a good business doing her craft and cleaning houses pays decently too, so she was able to get through her school fees. Sometimes the house owner would gift her items they don't need anymore such as flat iron, hair drier, computer mouse, perfumes, and other stuff, which she gladly sells online for a cheaper price, it's nothing much but it pent up to her desired amount, little things that she can do to survive the tough college life.

They got so busy that they hardly saw each other after graduation, Brian had to study engineering at a faraway University while Natalie was sent abroad to study interior design right after graduation, they can only see each other through video calls now, sometimes every day if they have time, if not during the weekend. Lexie being a real introvert can only gain bullies and no friends and spends her spare time in the library. She knew no one and felt alone, but she endured because she wants to graduate and help her parents. It's painful not to see her friends anymore, but she has no choice. Sometimes due to loneliness, fatigue, and stress, she often dreams of that young man she met at the club. As to why she is so fascinated with that guy, she has no idea. Perhaps it's his kiss that we're already engraved in her mind.

She keeps thinking about that guy and was praying they would meet again. Even if they won’t be talking to each other as long as he can see him again, just once. Jeez, first loves are a pain in the behind. She sighed feeling depressed, at least she meets him in her dreams sometimes. Somewhere in space and time they meet and shared something that she can never have in real life. Because life as a university student is complex and life as a student is even more complicated, she's sure no one can argue with that.

She was accepted by a State University and studied Microbiology, not her real choice, but the State University in River City has limited courses. The state focuses on basic professions like Medical Science, Structural Engineering, Computer Sciences, Business, and Law. Art is only for engineering and architecture which focuses on construction which she barely had an interest in, although the courses are limited. The education quality, however, is superb. That's why Brian has to go to another City State University because it's tough. Lexie, on the other hand, is only good with memorization, so she can only memorize so many microbes in her life. She laughs at the pathetic life she got, she is the greatest push over in the university and she was already greatly affected, there are already a few that started to pester her, just because she's a freshman and knows no one.

Her classes end at four in the afternoon, so she gets to work at the Café for an hour and a half. Her shift at the coffee shop is busy, so many people come in after school and after work. Good thing it’s only an hour and a half. But it is still tiring, her legs are cramping up and her brain is really exhausted. But there are times when the Café is not that busy. The manager won’t call her to help, she would take tutoring classes for art. This time Brian’s mom called her to tutor an adult.

“Auntie. Can we do it on weekends?” Brian’s mother said that the man was busy and will only have time this week.

“Auntie I’ll ask Mom first if they’ll allow me to work over seven in the evening.” She said worried that the tutoring lesson will slip out of her hand.

“You’re such a good girl, Lexie I’m glad you’re friends with Brian! I’ll call your Mom okay, don’t worry.”

She felt someone was following her on the roadside going to the bus station. Her instincts said she was in danger, so she walked faster and got on to the bus quickly. She sighed in relief when no one followed her inside the bus.

She didn’t know that a pair of eyes were staring at her on the opposite side of her seat. It’s a thirty-minute ride to her home, she felt tired and closed her eyes. Someone sat next to her but she didn’t feel or notice it, she was deep into slumber.

“Tsk I followed you on purpose to awaken your sense of danger, but you really have time to fall asleep.” The man placed Lexie’s head on his shoulders, and she didn’t even stir, she even drooled on his shirt.

“Nice.” He chuckled. It has become his habit to sniff her hair.

"Wife. Don't be too trusting please, what if I won't be able to follow you next time hmmm?" He knew was talking to himself and that she will still do this next time. Lexie, on the other hand, smelled the most comfortable scent in the world. She smiled and buried her head deeper.

"Smells nice." Because of the familiar heat of his body, she hugged her hands around his body. He chuckled and shook his head. He wanted to scold her. But he knew he can't.

"Okay. Why don't you wake up now, it's almost your stop, I won't allow you to this kind of thing anymore, you're really so careless! He took her hand and kisses the back of her palm. He signaled the driver to stop and to call her attention.

"Thank you sir for waking me up." Lexie thanked the driver several times.
