18 Hotpot

It's been two weeks and her vegetable patches are growing well, the fruit trees were also planted alternately to make it look like it has grown randomly. The artificial stream was also constructed, the water flows from the original river and it also flows back but the water that flows has automated treatment that filters impurities that way the water inside their property is clean. She asked the servants to plant herbs surrounding the stream so it will look peaceful and calm. But the day is almost over, the herbs are still not planted. She looked all over the place and it seems like the servants boycotted her. She can't think of anything bad she's done.

She didn't mind because she can move and do the chores on her own. She prepared a Mongolian hotpot, and she knew Albert was home by this time. So she looked for him again in the huge house.

On her way up she found a maid scrubbing the staircase but upon seeing her she ran as fast as she could. She wondered what that was about?

Again she calmed down and didn’t make a deal out of it. She found Albert in the library reading some documents.

“Hey, wanna have some hot pot?” She asked, at this point, she has mixed feelings. She felt like she could stay but the other half of her brain didn’t trust him still.

“Sure!”

They went to the kitchen together only to find out that all the food she prepared was ransacked. She thought that blood boiling is just an expression of words, but it’s true she felt her blood rapidly heated up into a boiling point.

“I didn’t do it.” She said defensively.

“It doesn’t matter, let’s go eat out.” He said stroking her hair.

“I said it’s not me.” She didn't know why it was important for him to believe her.

“Let it go, honey, let’s eat.” It’s not a big deal to him.

“You didn’t believe me,” she said, sulking.

“I do. But there’s nothing we can do? it’s ruined.” He calls a servant and they all come together at once, when she called them earlier no one obeyed. Is it because she is young and didn’t see her as the mistress?

“Call everyone!” She commanded the other girl. This has been going on for several days already, she just didn’t make a big deal out of it. The girl was confused and was looking back and forth towards her and Albert.

Albert’s forehead creased just what is his wife doing now?

“Did you hear me or do you want me to call the police to let you all out of my house?” She said irritatedly, voice trembling. She can’t be able to pull this kind of authority without Albert, so she wanted to do it now.

“Babe, let’s do it later, you’ll be starving in a minute.” He didn’t know what kind of storm was brewing inside her head and he’s afraid he will run away again.

“No this can’t wait, All our servants are bullying me.” When he heard her say that Albert’s head fumed.

“What do you mean?” This is what Lexie hated about Albert, he is so smart that he overlooked this kind of things.

“This has been going on for about a week, at first I was asking them to water all the trees, but I ended up doing it, then the other day, I was to use the pool and ordered someone to clean it but, I ended up doing too, and now I ordered someone to plant herbs but the day has ended and I can’t find a single employee in this house.” She blurted out angrily.

“Butler Moi! Call everyone.”

“Master, why do we have to call everyone?” She knew that this butler knew what’s going on but he pretended he didn’t. Just what do they want to prove?

Albert stared at him darkly. That’s the only time the butler knew this was serious. She narrowed her eyes because they have more employees than she expected.

“I want a headcount starting from you!” She pointed at Lily, like the first maid she looked confused and stared at Albert first.

“My patience for the entire week has already been exhausted, don't make me repeat myself!.” All her pent up stress and anger with these people and their relationship as a couple was released on that shout.

The headcount began and she was even shocked because they have more than a hundred employees, compared to what she thought.

“Okay, I need an explanation from you as to why no one answers my calls and obeys my requests?” They can’t mess up with her because they can all go but not her.

Everyone is looking at Lily, but she is trying to make herself invisible.

“My wife is asking you all. Everyone will explain or all of you will have to face charges in court.” Lexie almost let out a laugh but she controlled herself and maintained a stern face. Charges in court, where did it come from? Knowing him, possibly meant his personal court.

“Mr. May I think I know the answer.” They all thought that she is a kept woman, a mistress’ in River City can’t have respect no matter how rich they are. They’re always being blatantly insulted and even if they complain no one will take them seriously.
