26 CHAPTER TWENTY SIX AYO PLEASE HELP ME

After his proposition, working together became very difficult for me, this because I often don't know how to behave in his presence, especially with his eyes devouring me all the time.

Although he seldom discussed anything with me about it in in the office, but his eyes were constantly making a plea to me in his dream like way!

After about two months of hide and seek eyes game, we were returning from a field work one day when he drove into one restaurant, I knew instantly it wasn't for food, but for love discussion.

He asked me what I will like to eat and I told him not to let us waste food again, because since he proposed to me we have been wasting foods, he would ordered for food and just toyed with it while pleadingly looking at me till the food will grow cold, and I in turn often could not eat under his devouring gaze!

I told him to let us order for cold water and then we will discuss what was in his mind, because I also could no longer live with this unresolved issue between us.

He was very glad to hear this and he ordered for water which we did not touch, because we started our discussion before the water came.

I was the one who deliberately opened the matter for two reasons, the first been that I loved him, but the second was the dilemma of our work, we cannot work together as lover in that company, even if I by principle do not forbid it, the company's policy is against it, except if we just want to took around for a while and then go our different ways while we remain colleagues in the company.

Knowing this, I broached the matter from that angle, I told him that I do not see how what he proposed to me will work out, not because I do not love him or want what he wanted, but because I cannot do office romance thing that some people do, they messed around sexually and then go separate to marry another person.

when he heard this he released the breath which he has held in anticipation of what may come from me that may not please him.

He smiled and said he was very glad to finally hear this from me, and he told me that he also do not want office friendship, he told me that he has a plan that will take care of this office obstacle.

When he said this, I quickly told him in case his plan may be that I should leave this job for us to be married, I told him that I would not leave my job to marry him because I am the eldest child of my parents and they seriously need my hell concerning my sibling's education.

To this he replied that his plan will take good care of all things, I asked him what the plan was? But he said he wants it to be a surprise to me. With that we ended our discussions.

That weekend, Richie paid a visit to his friend about his proposition to me. This friend happened to be his only childhood friend, they have been together through thick and thin.

The two of them started working for the biggest financial company that the one we were working for sees as a rival.

These two companies used to play to gallery in there rivalry in the sense that they used to snatch staffs from each other in their bid to get to know what the other company is up to, but they usually snatch outstanding staff of their rival.

Richie was a good example of this, he was enticed out of the place where he worked as co staff of his friend Ago with offer of an irresistible juicy position, that was the reason he was close to the top hierarchy of the company; his chief duty was to lure clients away from his former company into this present company.

And to be candid, I heard he was a master at it, how he used to do it then I did not know, but later in our relationship I got to know that he does this by seducing the wives of all the male clients that he managed to snatch, and those women influenced their husbands for him.

The presenter jokingly cuts into her story saying, "He must be like James Bond 007 then, who said in one of his films that he specialized in hostile take over"

Tolu answered, "He was even better in the game than James Bond!

The presenter then asked, " How exactly did you discover that he was wrapping people's wife's around his fingers, did you catch him doing one of them?"

"No I did not" Tolu replied and she added, " You know I presented his memoirs in court as one of my evidences that he was an animal?"

The presenter said, "Yes you did, but you did not tell the court how you laid your hand on that earth shaking thing! Did you?"

"No I did not, but he accidentally left it on the table during our second relationships on a day he did not think I would come around, and once I found it I quietly left his place without letting him know I that I was around.

Although later he asked me if I found such thing, I pretended perfectly that I did not come around at the time and that I did not see the see his memoir. He chose to believe my word on the assumption that if I found something like that I would not returned to him smiling, but he did not know that I was into him then to knock him down

Anyway, let me returned to where we detoured from, as he was snatched from his former place of works, he approached his friend that he should lead his company to snatch me from the company that we both worked for.

His friend agreed to help him in this, but not until he first sat him down to a heart to heart discussion over the relationship, I got to know of this later from his friend during our crisis.

On that particular day, Ayo asked him if I have given my consent to his proposition of love? He answered in truth that I have not done so, that I only told him that I could not be his girl while we worked together in the same company, nor will I leave this work because I wanted to marry him.

Hearing this Ayo asked him, "Do you want to truly marry the girl?" Richie said, "I cross my heart I am into this for keep, you know this girl is special to my life and she is different from all others I have met before"

When he gave this assurance Ayo did not believe him as he replied him, "Richie, you always say this every time you meet a new girl, they are all always special until you sample their sex, the they become something else in your eyes.

You will be an eternal ingrate if you treat this particular girl the way you have been treating all other girls, and I will not want to be part of the project that will defile such a pure innocent girl; so tell me now if you really want to marry this girl?"

To this Richie swore with heaven and earth that he is surely going to marry me, that he should think about it, why would he want to go through this trouble of getting me employed in another company if he really do not have lasting interest in me?

With so much swears, Ayo said to him that they would not need to go through so much trouble to get me employed because coincidentally their company will start a new recruitment that very week, and they will be glad to employ me if they heard that I am a staff of their company will that want to work here because I think here is better
