29 CHAPTER TWENTY NINE CRACK IN THE WALL

After the comment by the presenter he asked Tolu, "But after you heard this discussion how did you handle it?"

"First, I was greatly impressed and encouraged by the interpretation given to this dream by Ayo, secondly I loved the words he put in for me. But as touching that cockerel called Richie I felt so sick from the pit of my belly hearing his words!"

However I put myself together because I did not want them to know that I heard this discussion, I slipped back towards the front door and pretended to just been barging into the apartment to warn them that I am coming.

I called Richie from the door and asked where he is? He came in and pretended lime he was not just saying some horrible things about me, he said, "Honey, we are here enjoying the cool breeze at the back"

I walked to the place and he asked me what I needed? I told him that I needed some little change to add to the money on me for some ingredients.

Hearing that he went inside to give me money, when he left I saw that Ayo has been watching my countenance, and somehow he discovered that I overheard what they discussed, because he told me, "Tolu you looked so pale, did you listen to our discussions"

Ayo is somebody who I could not lie to because I alwplace, ee that he is genuinely watching out for me in this relationship that is already seeming tensed. Apart from this I knew he was completely unlike Richie, he was very caring towards his own girl friend who happened to be the daughter of our MD.

He has introduce his girl to me and we had become friends. So when he asked me if I overheard their discussion? I quietly told him yes. He looked at me all over and patted me on the head and said there are things you should not be listening to, because it will trouble you. Then please do not be discourage by my friend's naughtiness, I am sure he loves you it's just that he grew up twisted but he has not been this taken up with a woman before, I will talk more to you in the office on Monday about him, do you hear?" I answered, "Okay sir, thank you for all the times" Richie came and gave me money and I left them to continue their discussions.

However, what I heard from him troubled me so much that when I got home I was deeply off coloured, but I met my friend Bianca at home waiting for me.

Since we grew up together, she knew me so well that she could see through the mask I tried to put on immediately I saw her. She looked at my face and asked me straight, "What is it again? Did you quarrel with him again?" She asked this because she was aware that I had this on going issue with Richie, for she had witnessed a cold war that resulted from me turning him down once. She asked me about it then and I told him that he always pestered me for sex.

When I told her this her statement shocked me to the marrow, she said, "What is wrong with you, give him what he wants after all you are going to marry him!"

I looked at him and asked, "So if you are in my shoe you will give him your body just like that ehn?"

She said, "Yes, why not, it is the best way to keep him to yourself, if I have a guy like him I will be all over him so much that he won't look at any other lady till he will put wedding ring on my finger, look let me tell you the truth, if you continue to starve him you will loose him.

I answered her, " It certainly will pain me if I loose him over this, but it won't be the end of me, if he cannot wait till our wedding night he is free to go.

That was how we ended our discussion the first day Bianca knew of this problem between us, and since then she has been on my neck telling me to let him have what he needs from me, and I always tell her that it is not my own way of life to have sex before marriage

On this particular, when she saw my off coloured face, she asked me where I was coming from and I told her that I was coming from Richie's place, that was the reason she asked if we are quarrelling again. I did not give her any answers because I knew what she will tell me.

When I refused to answers her she said, "I know you will not answers me, but all the same I will tell you the truth, when you know you were not ready for serious relationship you should have allowed me to have him, after all I told you from the beginning that I love him, with the way you are behaving he will be lost to both of us by your frigid act"

When she used the word frigid on me, it was like a screw was turned inside my head, without thinking I gave her a dirty slap and shouted on her, "Never again in your life will you call me frigid, I am not a a slut like you!"

She was shocked beyond measure at my reaction, she would have fought back, but she knew I was a trained martial art fighter that she could not handled. She looked at me and said, "Tolu, you slapped me!"

With that statement she Turned and rushed down from our house. When she left I regret my anger and I knew it was because she used the same word that Richie used for me that was the reason I boiled over and lost control, it means I spent the anger I felt for Richie on her.

However, I went after her when I cooled down, I begged her a lot before she would calm down, I told her that I got angry because she used the exact word that Richie used that angered me and made me to come home sad.

She accepted my apology, but I did not know that her forgiveness was not heartfelt, she had made up her mind to hurt me back.

And what she intended to do was to throw herself on Richie at all cost. Hearing this the presenter said, "She must be an horrible friend to have, did she do it?

I answered, " Yes she did, but I was not aware that she went behind me to mess with Richie at first, I only knew that Richie's clamor for sex with me reduced and Bianca's visit to my place reduced greatly.
