12 CHAPTER TWELVE JUDICIAL COUNCIL SUMMONS

While the Mayor enjoyed spying on all the activities in the court complex, he did not know that Boripe has bought the tech company that installed all his spying cameras, and the manager of that operation has been greatly touched by how wonderful he is treating all his staffs.

So, one day in the course of discussion he confided in him about the secret cameras they helped the Mayor to install all over the court complex, this because he did not like how the dubious previous owner of the company used to force him and his colleagues to do things like this that are illegal, and he saw that Sir BORIPE too do not like that kind of things.

And Tolu been a computer expert has been able to hack into the surveillance system they helped him to put up in the secret room at the back of his office. Now they could see all that he could see in the court complex , that was the reason Ayo has not been coming out of the car since this hearing started, he is always with an open laptop monitoring what the Mayor is monitoring and all his communication with the Judge and SAN Terror.

Now the hunter is about to become the hunted, they pulled out so much dirt from the Mayor' s own archives because he used to record all shady deals with his own judges and lawyers.

He even installed similar cameras in his own office that records all his dealings with people that comes for things in his office, so that he can review all transactions to see if he made any mistake that he must correct, or to scrutinise the countenance of the people in the video for signs of shock when he face slaps them or sincerity in what they dish out to him.

Normally he used to pride himself that he could see into people's mind through their expressions, so re- watching his dealings with people is a thing he is addicted to.

The moment he finished with Richie and his parents wheeled him out, he hissed at their back and stepped into his surveillance room to watch the shocks given to Richie and his parents; but he was not the only person watching it, Sir Boripe, Tolu, Ayo and the kid wonder lawyer too were all in Boripe's library watching with him and recording their own copy Once they finished watching this, Sir Boripe said, "Now you see the wisdom of putting Richie under watch, we would not have known of their plan to abruptly close this case, we will just get to court and Richie would just shocked us with the withdrawal of interest to pursue justice, now what do we do with this?

Tolu spoke up first, she said, " We are ahead of them sir, as they close this route we will move on to the next phase of our plan, and that is where they will receive their biggest blow"

The kid wonder lawyer said, "Sir, even this route is not yet close, we must explore what we have on them" Sir Boripe asked, "How are we going to do that without giving ourselves away that we are aware of his secret room, knowing that he will destroy that room and all the evidences in there before we are ready to use it on them"

The kid lawyer said, "We can do it without alerting the Mayor and the SAN, we will only take the judge down by releasing a short video of his conversations with the Mayor about the adjournments through grapevine social media, and once the leaked video go viral i will approach the judicial council about his compromise"

On hearing this idea, the four of them agreed it's a beautiful idea. Tolu said , "By this they will be one man down and the man is their greatest defence, and this may even cause distrust among them; because the Mayor will not want to be implicated, and if he wash his hand of the judge it may grieve him to go down alone"

Sir Boripe nonchalantly said, "That is their headache, let them deal with it as a lesson that he who lives in a glass house and is throwing stones will one day crash his own house on his own head, Kid leak the video today" He turned to the kid wonder lawyer jokingly and said, " You must be enjoying yourself, they called you kid but you are bullying those who called themselves invincible elders"

The kid said, " A dog that have well armed valiant hunters behind it will take on the most ferocious lion as if it's a rabbit sir , everything I am i hold to you and my sister and brother Ayo, without you people there is no kid wonder lawyer, I am grateful!"

Go on and leak the tape Sir "Boripe said" and be careful how you handle yourself when you go with the leaked tape to the judicial council so that they won't trace it to you.

The kid said, " i will be careful trust me sir" With that they called their meeting a wrap and the kid wonder lawyer went out to a public cyber cafe and leaked the video under an anonymous ID that nobody could trace to him.

The effect of this leaked video was instantaneous, within two days it was the most trending video not just in the city, but across the whole nation. Its impact was beyond what Kid envisaged, before he would even approached the judicial council to plead no confidence in the judge, the judicial council members called an emergency meeting and they sent a summons to the judge to appear before them in two days to the time he received their summon. When the Judge received this summon, he rushed to the Mayor's office forgetting to be cautious. The Mayor himself was under serious shock believing that somebody did a number on the judge.

He was watching the video when the Judge rushed into his office trembling and began to rant carelessly. The Mayor was so annoyed by his lack of discretion because it is dangerous for them to be seen together at such time as this, the citizens may put two and two together and arrived at the conclusion that he was the unseen fellow the Judge talked to on the video.

When he tried to calm the Judge down and he refused to calm down, he gave him a shocking slap on his face and said, "Shut up"

The Judge was stunned beyond words that the Mayor could slap him, he held his stinging mouth and could not say one more words.

Once he kept his mouth the Mayor said, "Sorry about that, i don't mean it as a disrespect, but that is the only way to bring you back to earth. I have seen the video and i don't think such a trifling video should make you loose your sense and rush to my office ranting"

The Judge found his voice and said, "You called that video a trifling thing? Do you know that the judicial council just drop a summon on my table over it?" He held his head and said, "This my end, oh i am done, all that i have laboured for and the reputation of my family will be flushed down the drain, oh i am undone!"

Calmly the Mayor said "If you will not let me talk i will advise you to go home, in fact you should go home we will see in the night" The Judge asked, "I should go home when my roof is on fire? No way, let us find solution to this mess now, other wise if I go down the whole city will know who I was holding conversation with on that video.

Hearing that, the Mayor trembled in his mind, but he smiled like untroubled man outside, he placed his hand on the Judge's shoulder and reassure him, " Look, you cannot go down over this, trust me I will find a way around it"

The Judge said, "You better do because I will not go down alone" After saying this he left. The mayor said, "This woman like man is threatening to take me down, oh no you won't do it" He picked his phone and called someone, when the person at the receiving end pick the call, he said, "Rugged, your friend the judge want to commit suicide over the video that you call my attention to, please see to hit that he get a non incriminating one quickly, thank you.

When he ends the call he said, " I would have found a way to save you, but you betray yourself saying you will pull me down, that is a big mistake you must pay for, no man threatens me and live, please enjoy your suicide"

Sir BORIPE watched the this conversation and said, "What a wicked soul, at the appropriate time we will take care of you.

On the day that the Judicial council set for the hearing, they waited for the Judge to show up but they did not see him, so they issued an arrest warrant and asked the Police to bring him in, but they looked everywhere for him and they could not find him.

However, when the dust his whereabouts raised die down, they appoint a new judge to continued Tolu/Richie's hearing, but when they got into the court Richie read the withdrawal letter to the hearing of a crowd that jeered him while he reads.
